What a great hotel. The room is spacious, and the sanitary ware and bathroom are all Hansgrohe and Bravit. We had dinner and breakfast here, and they were both very good. The sanitary conditions of the swimming pool are also very good. In short, it is highly recommended. If you want to visit the West Ancient City, East Ancient City, and Lion Rock, you can consider this as your base.

Amazing property and very hospitable staff. Would definitely recommend this place. The dining experience was also great as well as the pool area. There is a lake very close by to the hotel and it is a nice walk to see birds. The rooms were above average size, with all the amenities you would expect in a 5* resort, the entire property is super clean especially considering the property is surrounded by wilderness. Special thanks to: Dileesha - Always very helpful and the most smiley person ever! Deepal- Thank you for taking care of our food orders and recommending dishes that were suitable for us. Pradeep - The Master chef in the property who cooked the most amazing meals and came to personally visit each table to make sure we were enjoying our food. Tushara and Lasantha for helping out our general needs.

This hotel is in an absolutely beautiful nature setting, and the spacious rooms command wonderful views of that setting. The rooms themselves are beautifully designed - all wood and concrete, creating a modern yet very natural ambiance. The pool is lovely, in its own nature setting. The limited menu, all made to order, is high quality and quite varied - both local and Western dishes are offered. The staff are very hospitable and helpful. Using the town of Habarana, and this hotel, as a base is a great way to see the major sites in the near vicinity: Sigiriya, Polonnawaru, Anuradhapura.

A really lovely hotel with excellent amenities and kind, attentive staff. Our room was large and well furnished. Thegrounds are beautifully maintained. The restaurant serves Sri Lankan food as well as western choices which makes it an easy place too stay with children. The pool is large and inviting.

From the point of arrival to departure we were greeted with smiles. All the staff made us feel so much at home. The property is stunning too, in a down to earth way, sitting framed by lush paddy fields. The whole place is inspired by the likes of Sigiriya. Food was great , excellent choice and the F&B staff were the best. They treated us with such warmth and attended to our requests with big smiles. Perfect place for those looking for down to earth luxuries and a peaceful calm small boutique property. Taru Villas where ever they may be are highly recommended.

If you ever wanted a tranquil get away from the hustle bustle and be pampered like you owned the world... I must say Taru Villas Maia has to be at the top of that list.. the serene surroundings... the nature embracing the wild.... smell of nature...Staff trained to make you feel special every step of the way..... just devine! Taru villas Maia is such a unique get away, it has inspired me and my husband to develop a similar get away south of Sri Lanka... such is serenity... such is the beauty and the culinary masterclass they have created... the food was amazing.. the chalets were classy ... the long walkways in silence added to the peace and tranquility you yearn... The paddy fields completed the back drop of Taru villas Maia with the experience incomplete if you didn't get on the outrigger canoes (Oruwa as it is known in Sri Lanka)..... You can't miss it!

We chose this hotel as a base for our visit to Sigiriya during our 2 night stay in the region. Easy to find on a main road 1.5km from Habanara main street, check in was very friendly and efficient. Our room (No. 2) was amazing in every aspect. A very large, tastefully decorated room with balcony/terrace. Full tea and coffee making facility, including a small fridge. Large double bed was very comfortable. Our package included breakfast and evening meal, both of which are served in the restaurant area 2 mins walk from most of the rooms. Swimming pool is fabulous, with waiter service, if needed. Staff are excellent and super friendly. Highly recommended!

Best hotel room we’ve had. Beautiful location and property and awesome food, really well adjusted to my wife’s gluten intolerance. the employees really care and go above and beyond. Absolutely great! Well done and keep it up.
Only 2 small pieces of advice for the management because I know you care about it:
1. Increase number of towels in the rooms, 1 per day is not enough in the outside bathroom because things stay moisty
2. Do room service when guests are at breakfast. We often were out of the room several hours in a row and then the room wasn’t cleaned yet. It then had to be cleaned when we wanted to be in it.
Apart from that 10/10!
