Best Western Asheville Tunnel Road

Asheville|2.54km from Bull Mountain
This was either the 3rd or 4th time I've stayed in this specific hotel. When we checked in they had to get the housekeeping list before assigning rooms. Shortly after checking in the guy from the front desk barged into the room and when he realized we were sitting there he said ”oh, I'm sorry, this room was reported as being dirty by the cleaning staff.” He did not explain or offer to move us to a different room... just left. I know for a fact that rooms are classified by cleanliness and working order and then assigned to patrons in order of their status (rewards, non rewards, etc.) and also by the rates. I've seen the lists before and how they were assigned. It would seem that we were given a shabby dirty room even though I'm a rewards member... We also noticed that every time we went into the room our sinuses immediately stopped up and the room smelled musty and not fresh and the AC was super loud and ”dank musty” smelling like mold. The water pressure was horribly low and it was hard to get rinsed in the shower. The two queen beds sloped downward towards the head and the mattresses seemed worn out and were impossible to sleep on. Also, the people in the next door room seemed to be staying long term and had multiple visitors in ”van life” vans and slammed their door many many times and talked really loud all night during our 3 night stay. I'm not one to complain usually but, in this instance I'm not sure I'll be staying there again due to the problems.

It was a pleasant hotel overall like a Marriott hotel. However, despite the air conditioning, the vent kept going back at night and it was a bit cold. And it was uncomfortable that the room maintenance staff often knocked on the door in the morning and urged the check-out.

A good quality room and comfortable pillow. Really nice indoor pool heated to a good temperature with a hot tub. The gym was also pleasant. Nice lobby area and rooms were clean. Helpful staff and breakfast was fine.

It’s my first night here and I’ve already had an amazing stay. I need to give a big shout out to Nickie. She was up at the front desk. She is so kind and personable that you feel like you’ve known her for ages. I felt welcome as soon as I started speaking with her. The hotel is also so clean and nicely decorated. I will definitely be staying here each time I come to Asheville :)

For an older hotel it has been renovated/updated. Very clean rooms at a reasonable price. I had no issues during my weeks stay and everyone at the front desk was nice when I did need something. I recommended that they start having the individually wrapped biscuits like most Choice Hotels are going to. Would definitely stay here again.

Older property freshly painted & updated, spotlessly clean. The front desk customer service is exemplary, beyond reproach. We’ve stayed at many US properties & the front desk staff here excels them all… Aaron, Jay, Sarah, Destiny. Thank you for your service with excellence!!!
