Hotel Casa Hormiga Reviews

We travel over 100 nights a year and stay in hotels all over the world. I never leave negative reviews but this hotel was super disappointing. The hotel is beautifully designed and super photogenic but not designed for humans. For example the bathroom sink is super high (and we’re tall), the bed is super short, the shower has no ventilation which made the room steam every time, and the room is poorly lit. The staff are just not professional and definitely not hospitality oriented, there’s no other way to put it. We arrived slightly earlier than checkin after a long flight and the first thing they said was you’re too early. The room not being ready is fine but welcoming they aren’t. The checkin process was like a long list of rules - felt like being in school and that’s followed again at breakfast where the waitress explains the rules. Ah and there’s no coffee machine at breakfast until 12pm - after breakfast finished. We debated between here and Habitas - and having stopped at Habitas for a meal I can say that we made the wrong choice and Habitas is really an amazing property.
