We had such a blast at Living Heritage Koslanda with our little ones! The staff was super friendly, especially with our kids. Exploring the jungle and finding that epic waterfall with our awesome guide was a total highlight. And let's not forget the cozy evening bonfire where we all gathered under the stars, roasting marshmallows – it was unforgettable! If you're up for a few days of adventure mixed with some chill time by the stunning infinity pool, this place is it. Big shoutout to the staff for making our stay extra special!

Living Heritage Koslanda in Sri Lanka offered us an unforgettable stay, especially in the forest pavilion room, which felt like a luxurious treehouse in the jungle. Madhumal's nature walk enriched our understanding of the local ecosystem, while manager Johnson's attentiveness ensured a seamless experience. This unique accommodation perfectly blended the comforts of luxury with the beauty of nature, making our stay not a memorable immersion into the wonders of Sri Lanka.

Set amidst 80 acres of lush forest in the Eastern Hills, this hidden luxury hotel is ideal for unwinding. During our 5-day stay here, we got to experience 2 of the 3 kinds of accommodations. The Pepper Cottage, set back, closer to the main entrance, was charming & comfortable but a little secluded, with its own pavilion: overall spacious & clean with amenities, including a self-catering kitchen. In contrast, our corner Luxury Villa was the next level: gorgeous too, with an enormous private courtyard & a long veranda. At the back, outdoors, was a 2nd shower & a plunge pool. Cocktails served at 7.30 pm gave us a chance to mingle with other guests, followed by a delicious & varied dinner. With the warm welcome offered by the wonderful & helpful manager, Johnson, & the other friendly staff, staying here was definitely one of the highlights of our monthlong stay in Sri Lanka. We’d definitely consider a return visit here - such an unforgettable & enjoyable experience!

Living Heritage surpassed our wildest expectations. At roughly half the price of the other places we stayed, it was by far our favourite. The service was impeccable, with kind and attentive staff, and the forest pavilions were the treetop houses of our dreams. We spent every day watching the monkeys and hiking in waterfalls - the location is a dream. Couldn't recommend more strongly.

This place is a paradise. Peaceful & so beautiful. Slept in one of the pavillon… Woke up by birds & amazing sunrise. Food was great all from the garden! Highly recommended to pause from cities, trains, bus, road. The staff is absolutely kind, professional, and so friendly. Thank you Johnson. Thank Madhu!!! I will come back!!!

I've just returned from a one-week stay at Living Heritage Koslanda and absolutely loved my time there. I've come away feeling happy, refreshed and inspired. Over the week, I spent two nights in one of the spacious suites, which has its own courtyard and plunge pool, as well as a lovely shared verandah, which is a great place to sit with a cup of tea and admire the stunning views. The hotel, with its ambalamas and traditional-style buildings, is a real celebration of Sri Lankan vernacular architecture. For the remaining nights, I stayed in a forest pavilion - a totally different experience which I also loved...Being so close to nature, immersed in the trees was a unique experience which I found very calming and healing. It felt luxurious to feel the gentle breeze at night while in the comfort of an amazingly comfortable bed, with soft sheets and pillows. Since I last visited in 2017, there is now a resident naturalist, Madumal. I really enjoyed the jungle/forest walk that I did with him, learning about the different indigenous trees, and the hotel's replanting scheme. The swim in one of the waterfall pools at the end was so beautiful - a moment I won't forget with streams of white butterflies passing by and vivid blue dragonflies resting on the rocks. I also enjoyed the ayurvedic massage and herbal steam treatment. The views from the infinity pool down to a small village nestled around paddy fields, and forested hills in the distance is mesmerising. The team are so friendly, kind and professional, and I loved the fresh, homemade Sri Lankan food, many of the vegetables from the garden. The turmeric latte made from homegrown turmeric was also delicious! I really admire how the hotel grows and produces as much as possible- including roasting local coffee beans. All these details, and many more, made my stay thoroughly wholesome and nourishing. I'll definitely be returning as this place now has a special place in my heart!

We spent a couple of nights in one of the tree house style rooms. The rooms were super comfortable with huge beds and all the necessary amenities. The only drawback is that they've been built very close together meaning that you can hear everything that is happening next door - including the toilet flushing - which massively detracts from the experience of being immersed in nature. The pool is amazing and we very much enjoyed walking to the waterfall and down to the paddy fields below. It'd be even better if the property added some additional, well signposted trails as there's so much scope for walking on their land but at the moment they only offer the waterfall trail. This isn't a good hotel if you have mobility issues as it's spread out with lots of steps involved. Staff all lovely but service was slow and you had to order dinner in advance.

This beautiful and peaceful hotel offers a unique chance to relax and get closer to an unspoiled part of Sri Lanka. You are surrounded by nature and offered all the comfort and service you need by a professional team of lovely people. Unbeatable experience which is difficult to find . Don’t miss it. The only problem is that you will never want to leave!

This is a very special property and provides a unique experience. Unfortunately it rained for most of the time we were there but it was still good. We stayed in a suite. There are 3 suites and they are huge and very well appointed. They also have a big veranda area so you can sit there comfortably if it rains. The resort is hard to find. Down a very small track like road. No signage or none that we saw. The pool is up 85 steps so not good for anyone with mobility issues. The service is excellent and the food great. The cookery class was excellent. Nice touch of cocktail hour so all the guests can chat.
