Great
AAnonymous UserStayed here ahead of a flight from Heathrow which was the second time. Modern, clean, and comfortable with good quality food and service in the bar. Made the mistake of staying at Holiday Inn nearby on the way back which was awful, spend your money here instead.
TTansiyiAdvantages: spacious and tastefully furnished. 1.8 The rice bed is very comfortable.
Disadvantages: No air conditioning is a bit stuffy, the door is 10 stairs, and will not take the initiative to help you carry your luggage. I moved up by myself.
GGuest User**3-Star Review for voco Hotel**
I recently stayed at a voco hotel and had a mixed experience. The hotel has a modern and vibrant atmosphere that I really enjoyed upon arrival. The décor is stylish, and the overall ambiance is inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring a warm welcome during check-in.
However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. While the room was clean and well-appointed, I found it to be smaller than I expected, which made it a bit cramped for two guests. Additionally, I encountered some minor issues with the amenities; for instance, the Wi-Fi was somewhat unreliable at times, which was frustrating during my stay.
The hotel's location was decent, with several restaurants and attractions within walking distance, but it wasn't as central as I had hoped. Overall, voco has a great concept with its focus on sustainability and unique twists, but a few tweaks could enhance the overall experience. I would consider staying again, but with slightly lower expectations.
AAnonymous UserStayed temporarily for one night when the rent expired. The location is very good, located in the city center, downstairs is a popular bar, very lively on weekends. The hotel decoration service is interesting and the store also sent beer.
GGuest UserWe had a lovely stay here for a wedding 15 minutes drive away.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating at all times.
The only comment I would like to raise is that we were given room 9 which was described as an accessible room (which we didn’t need) but it was completely inappropriate as accessible as the shower ( which was in the bath) would have been completely unsuitable for a wheelchair user, or someone else with difficulty moving who wouldn’t have been able to climb into the bath to use it.
Breakfast was excellent.
RraffzThe staff is friendly and polite. Although it’s a bit of a drive from Newbury and closer to Thatcham, the location isn’t too bad. There are even public transport links, with a bus stop outside on the line that connects Newbury to Reading. I haven’t tried the food yet, as it seemed a bit expensive to me. However, there’s a pub nearby that serves excellent food. Unfortunately, there’s no air conditioning, but fans are provided.
VViggiReally loved everything about this hotel - from my stay to the food and it’s location close to the city centre. Will definitely choose to stay here every time I visit Reading! Staff is really friendly and helpful as well - they knock on the door every morning the room!
