Hotel was warm and cosy and our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, bed was comfy and plenty of thick clean towels available. Dining area was enhanced by log burning stove. Food was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I was lovely that after a long journey, we could settle in our room and then just go downstairs to the restaurant and enjoy a lovely evening meal.

Ordered roast lunch from the seniors specials lunch menu 2 courses for £14 also 3 courses available . I only wanted one course which was a very reasonable £10. Good amount of turkey, roast potatoes, stuffing , Yorkshire and fresh beans and carrots . Great friendly service and spotlessly clean . Will definitely be returning . A very nice relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff and tasteful Christmas decorations .

We stayed for two nights as were attending a friend’s funeral locally. The wake was also held at The Black Horse. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the bar has a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Our room was quite spacious with a large shower room and a very comfortable king-size bed. Also tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits were available. Breakfast was great, with cereals and yoghurt followed by a choice of cooked options, the first morning we had the hearty full English and on the second morning the breakfast omelette. Both were really tasty and well cooked. Would we return….definitely

Someone entered my room at 5.20am (with keys), they shut the door again. Very inappropriate!

Was our second stay here meeting friends from the area. As before was a lovely warm welcome. Lovely relaxing bar area. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Throughout the stay all staff were very friendly. Would defiantly stay again.

We stayed at the pub for one night to meet friends and as a stopover on our way to Yorkshire. Staff, service and cleanliness were all excellent. We had an evening meal which was lovely and great value for money. A cooked breakfast was included which was freshly cooked with quality ingredients. There was also cereals, yogurts, fruit juice and tea/coffee available. We would definitely return again if we are in the area.

The Black Horse at Baston near Peterborough was the chosen venue for our son and his fiancé wedding day. The venue was booked and the Bridal suite and rooms for family members reserved too. The Wedding ceremony took place in lovely intimate surroundings followed by drinks and wonderful photographs in the surrounding gardens. The Wedding breakfast of delicious, hearty and well cooked food was excellently served by The Black Horse staff who looked after us and our guests from the beginning to end of our wonderful day. Thank you so much to all the Black Horse staff and would like to mention a special thank you to Gail who was our wedding organiser who worked tirelessly to ensure that this special day was the wonderful success that it was. A great place to go for a drink or a meal. The staff are engaging and as a group of four, we had a very nice 2 course meal (we couldn’t manage a dessert) The food was lovely and not too small portions as some establishments deliver. Cannot fault anything at all😊😊

This was not a good experience. . The owner was moody and the staff were abrupt. We ate the night we visited to test the food. We had burgers and they were dryer than a nun's crutch! There was a fat guy with tattoos and shorts on the stool at the bar who was really rude. Proper foul mouth. It's a shame as in principle it looks a nice place but I'm gonna have to opt for elsewhere I think

Booked 2 rooms for me and a colleague on a 1 night work stayover. The internet did not work and it was never resolved. The restaurant got our order wrong, and missed things off, and I had to ask for ketchup 5 times! It wasn't even busy? And the final insult, both our rooms had skylights in them, with no blinds or curtains to cover them up, so at the crack of dawn the rooms filled with light making it impossible to sleep, that was at 5:15am! What a joke! Its a shame because other than those issues the place seems nice enough, but I won't be going back.

Lovely country pub, fantastic food and rooms, very friendly

The room was comfortable and roomy with an excellent shower with good hot water and water pressure. The beds were fine (the older type spring mattresses were a worry but we slept well). The breakfast was excellent every day, especially the eggs benedict. The pub is cute and clean with a couple of nice real ales on. We would stay again if traveling in the area again.

Three rooms were booked as we were visiting the local area fora Christening. On arrival check-in was easy and three large rooms were allocated. All rooms were spotless with really comfortable beds. Breakfast on the following morning had to be early 8-00. We were accommodated with no hesitation. All food was good freshly cooked with a wide selection on offer. If visiting the tea again would certainly stay here.
