Amanek Beppu Yurari

Travel with a group of friends to Beppu but only 4 of us decided to stay at Amanek for 2 nights. This was the best decision ever as we were closed to the JR station, eateries, Tokiwa shopping mall, Donki and the beach were within walking distance. Only few staff could speak English. Those who speak Japanese only also try their best to serve the guest. I am impressed by how clean and new the whole hotel is. Best of all, I love the free flow of juices & beverages. You could also do take away in the UCC coffee disposible cup. Love the choice of either western or local breakfast with free flow of side dishes. I am surprised by how big the bedroom is and spacious bathroom. The gym equipment tho basic, are new & in good condition. The onsen is clean & modern & I love the warm rooftop pool with an awesome view! Amanek is thoughtful to provide guest with a basket to hold all your onsen needs. Upon check out, I was overcharged for my 2 days of breakfast. The staff was quick to rectify the problem & refunded me on the spot. Yes, would definitely stay in Amanek again in my next visit to Beppu! Thank you for the awesome stay!

I spent my first two hours doing what I haven’t done for almost three years, driving along the snaking roads in Japan. Arriving at Amane Seikai you feel euphoric, the seafood kaiseiki wasn’t the best, but the sake was good, and I was still giddy from seeing the spacious (1776 sq feet) junior suite with its own ocean view pool, jacuzzi, open-air onsen bath. “Room” 230 is in the new wing (according to my booking.com description), the apartment/room is not especially stylish, except for one little bottle of water and some coffee/tea, the mini bar and fridge were empty, but it has a spectacular view and you’ll still get your ocean view from bed and feel the constant gravitational pull of your private open-air onsen. I got up at 6ish just to catch the first rays of sunlight and to listen to the sound of the waves. Last but not least, the staff that checked me in was really nice and spoke perfect English ( coz he is from Nebraska ☺️)

-Booking (1 point / 5 point) - I wanted to make a reservation because there was a bathtub in the room. When I saw the room I ordered, it was said that 3 bathtubs were available. So when I came to the local area, I said that I applied for a twin room without a bathtub in the second floor room. I protested why the picture was different from the actual one, but they said they didn't know. I couldn't check in for almost 2 hours and 30 minutes, and after a silent encounter with hotels.com and Betei Haruki staff, I decided to ask for some compensation from Betei Haruki. - Response is slow and the answer to the inquiries is not clear, so it is difficult for Koreans to make a reservation. -Food (5 points/5 points) - I stayed for 2 nights and ate 2 times in the evening and 2 times in the morning. -Friendly staff (5 points/5 points) -I'm sorry, so overall kindness -Location (2 points/5 points) -Beppu Station 15 minutes taxi distance, there is nothing to see around and it is inconvenient to get out of the city -Just, 15 minutes walk to the tourist spot. -Facilities (3 points/5 points) -Overall, it feels old or it's okay to experience Japanese home -Public bathtubs are available without difficulty-Total review (2 points/5 points) - 2 nights for 2 people in the morning, If the price including dinner exceeds 800,000 won, there is no need to choose Guji here. I think there are enough ryokans with good value for money at this price. I recommend another place instead of spending 400,000 won per night in a twin room on the second floor located in this neighborhood where the view is not particularly good.

The hotel is nice, clean and hygienic, suitable for young people. The price is affordable. There are free hot springs nearby for the three days of New Year. It is only a seven- to eight-minute walk from Beppu Station. There is something to find on Baidu Maps. The owner is Chinese and very enthusiastic. Easy to find with Google Maps

Stayed for a night not at the dormitory but a private Japanese style room. Room was very spacious and the only down point was that it was mid winter in January but the room was still rather cold even with the heater. The heater was only in the main room and the toilet/shower area was freaking cold. They do not have a bath tub, but a shower and toilet in the same space with only a shower curtain separating the shower stand and the other part of the toilet. Whole area can get very wet after a shower.. Parking isnt free, and you have to book in advance. There is a living room and onsen on the first floor but it was too cold and i was too lazy as our room was on the 3rd floor. Guy at reception was very friendly and helpful. Location is a plus, just a few minutes walk from the station and if you need food, there are a few eateries around that open late. They also have rental bicycles.

Really enjoyed this unique hotel that has a mix of art, onsen, great views and decent food. The room (419) was not luxurious but was well designed, the balcony overlooked the extraordinary landscape that is Beppu, the greatest feature was the semi open-air onsen bath facilitated by the floor to ceiling windows, connected to the generous deck space. It was fun to walk around the gallery space and admire the interesting architecture, color palettes, and exhibits championing Beppu culture, landscape, flora, fauna etc. Sitting in the Peak restaurant for dinner, I was amused that one of the waitstaff was a robot that ferried food and empty dishes back and forth. Dinner was laid-back, had a window side seat that allowed me to enjoy the city glitter below. My stay here was at a fraction of another Beppu hotel on this trip, in many ways I enjoyed this place more and would not hesitate to come back.
