"I booked this hotel specifically for the private onsen in the room. When I first turned on the water, there was a strange smell, and I noticed some floating particles, which was quite off-putting. However, I later realized it was the natural sulfur smell of the hot spring, and the particles were inherent to the onsen water itself (as explained in the brochure), which put my mind at ease. The hotel environment is fantastic. The breakfast and dinner menus were different each of the two nights, which was wonderful. The food alone made it worth the price; it's the best value-for-money onsen hotel I've ever stayed at. It was my favorite part of the entire Kyushu trip! I definitely want to come back again in the winter."

"For my winter break trip to Japan, I continued exploring Kyushu, specifically Beppu and Yufuin. In Beppu, I stayed at this established onsen hotel. It wasn't expensive, and when I booked, it was the last room available. I kept checking countless times to see if a larger room would open up, but none did. My husband, due to his state-owned company job, couldn't travel, so it was just me and my son, which ended up being perfectly fine. The hotel initially even set up three futons for us in the tatami room. The onsen was very relaxing. There were a lot of Korean guests at the hotel; I noticed them all at breakfast. Our room had a sea view, which I really liked. For housekeeping, they only offer free cleaning on the third day if you stay for three consecutive nights. Otherwise, it costs 3000 yen per cleaning. We figured it wasn't worth it since we didn't have much trash anyway, and I didn't bother making the bed. The hot springs also offered sea views, though we only used them at night. Soaking in them before bed was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was a buffet with a good variety of local Kyushu dishes. I ate there for two days straight and didn't get tired of it. In terms of transportation, it's about a 100-meter walk from the Beppu bus terminal if you're coming from Fukuoka. The JR station is also only about a 10-minute walk away, which is very convenient. Overall, I think it offers pretty good value for money."

"The room is quite big, except that the pillow is a bit hard😂 It costs 1350 yen to take a taxi from Beppu. Someone will pick you up as soon as you get off the car. The staff is very enthusiastic. The hotel has a new building, Tsukijisang, and an old building, Qiujisang. The one I stayed in was the old building. When I went there, the staff carried my luggage up. When I checked out, the staff also carried the last staircase down. They were so polite that I felt embarrassed! Every dish for dinner will be introduced. The wagyu beef is very delicious, but the breakfast is not very appetizing😁! For soup, there are four private soups and two public baths, separated by men and women! If you don't want to live near the JR station, you can consider staying here!"

"The front desk staff who checked us in were very patient in explaining all the facilities and services, which we were very satisfied with. The breakfast was excellent, and they even had Ranoh eggs. The lobby had various yukatas available for rent, in both adult and children's sizes. The onsen (bathhouse) was a bit small, but offered nice night views of Beppu. We lost our room key upon checkout and had to pay 1500 yen for a replacement."

"The location is unbeatable; you can see the hotel right from the station and it's just a hundred meters across the road. You have to take off your shoes when you enter, and the hotel's hygiene is excellent. The front desk staff speak very good English. If you arrive early, you can store your luggage and go sightseeing. We arrived at noon and, being too lazy to queue at popular spots, found a good BBQ restaurant just 300 meters further down the road from the hotel. After eating, we took a bus to Umi Jigoku. We booked the half-board plan, but honestly, dinner wasn't really necessary; it was a buffet and the taste was quite average. One male server with long hair was rather aloof, while the older, senior servers were much more professional. Around 10 PM, everyone in the hotel comes down for free ramen, which creates a really lively atmosphere. For the hot springs, I recommend going around 3:30 PM, and again between 6 and 7 PM when most people are having dinner. You'll pretty much have the famous pools to yourself for those perfect photo ops."
