Not really great customer service on arrival, barely 2 words when we walked up besides the typical hello. Given our key cards and not informed of what time breakfast was (key card holder had it on luckily but kinda thought the guy might have told us like most hotels do)… One key card decided not to work so we was told to use that to keep the lights working in the room. Not the greatest start… Go into the room and there was a single bed over by the window, not a problem even though we were a couple and seemed a bit odd to put us in what seemed to be a family room but the small bed was covered in stains, nice. Cobwebs in one corner of the room. No instruction on how to switch the shower to bath, but we managed to work it out, although partway through showering my partner said it would cut out. Extractor fan seemed to do very little so everytime we left the room and came back, there was just a damp smell and the windows aren’t allowed to be opened so no fresh air to help with this issue. Air con seemed to rattle from time to time. Pictures on the wall were all wonky. I guess it seems like I’m moaning about minor things, but all these little things add up and I wanted to make it a nice experience for my partner who was visiting me from the US. I actually found it quite embarrassing and for the price I paid for it, you’d expect things to work, some level of cleanliness and customer service! The only plus to the stay was the bed was actually very comfortable and we slept well. The breakfast was nice but don’t expect much of a welcome when you walk in… No one checked whether we had even prepaid! We had dinner once in the restaurant, but even that was poor. Only one lady serving, most of the starters they didn’t have and the food itself seemed average. Overall, I won’t stay here again even though it’s in the perfect location! And I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone either. I guess if you wanted to stay 1 night you might be ok, but for a longer trip, definitely not.
