I seriously think these photos need an update... I've always known that CHECK INN operates by taking over old hotels, and I don't think that's bad at all, in fact, I think it's a smart strategy. BUT, if they take over a place and aren't willing to properly renovate or maintain it, aren't they just damaging their own brand? Honestly, last year I stayed at another 'CHECK INN' branch not far from here (I forget the exact name). The layout was a bit odd, but it was cleaner! 

Let's start with the pros here: The front desk staff were 100% polite and had excellent attitudes, highly recommend! The fact that the floors aren't carpeted is also a plus!

Now for the cons: The facilities are genuinely weak... and they seem unwilling to properly fix or even maintain them! The lobby was a bit dim. When I got off the elevator, seeing the 'warning' sticker on the carpet was just ridiculous. Once I entered the room, I felt that 2800 for a Saturday night was already too expensive... The bathroom tiles were appalling, so dirty and damaged, and they haven't been repaired? And the showerhead is even more outrageous, they still haven't replaced it?? The duvet was torn, making me wonder if it's even changed when the room is cleaned... There's a visible gap along the side of the door, and no security chain either... If your neighbor takes a shower late (past 11 PM), you'll be woken up by the rumbling sound of the hot water (I thought something serious was happening)! And the bed was hard and bouncy... The creaking sound of the pillows and the leather headboard against the wall was quite loud... When my husband turned over in the middle of the night, I thought it was an earthquake! I honestly felt so grimy that I didn't even bother showering! Sorry...

We were a large group this trip, so finding a suitable place to eat was a bit challenging, but other than that, everything else was satisfactory. The staff were friendly and made a great effort to accommodate us and ensure our comfort. It took a while to walk to Fengjia Night Market, but overall, we were still pleased.

We arrived late at night (almost 11pm) and were expecting do self checkin. We were surprised to have a staff at the lobby to help us and his service was good and polite. The staff at lobby were all pleasant and initiate chat with us - good service. The room was clean, comfortable and big space for both of stay. Would likely choose to stay next time we come to this area of Taichung.

Very good hotel.

Location is good for shopping: Yizhou night market is opposite the road. Many trendy shops and a huge department store just down the road. Very centralised to places of interest.

The beds are firm and comfortable. The whole hotel feels clean and well maintained. Most importantly, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

self check-in was a little confusing and most of the time, no one was manning the front desk. but the hotel was super clean and well maintained. would stay there again if visiting taichung! they were also very helpful in returning a sweater i left behind after checking out (they sent it to taipei for me) :D

Check in 4pm is kinda late. Auto locker only allow to store 1 luggage, need front desk to assist if there is more than 1 luggage.

Room Type: Deluxe Quadruple Room

Pros:
1. The room is spacious and even has two toilets and two sinks.
2. The location is close to the MRT station, which is convenient.
3. The soundproofing seems good; I wasn't disturbed by other guests during my four-night stay.
4. The mattress was comfortable – not too soft, not too firm, with a bouncy yet supportive feel.
5. The water pressure was strong, the flow was fast, and the water temperature was consistent. There's also a bathtub for soaking.

Cons:
1. The room cleaning was inadequate; there were still many long hairs left on the floor from previous guests.
2. For a quadruple room, there was only one chair at the dining table. If you wanted to eat or chat in the room, you'd have to sit on the bed.
3. Only bath towels were provided, no hand towels, which made it inconvenient to dry hands after washing.
4. For a quadruple room, there was only a small wardrobe and one luggage rack. Extra belongings had to be placed on the floor.
5. Because the room was large and the TV was far away, it looked a bit small and wasn't very satisfying to watch.
6. Parking spaces are limited and small, so during peak times, you might not find a spot.

My stay at OOD Hotel Taipei was truly enjoyable and memorable. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the modern and stylish design of the hotel, which created a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with any requests, making me feel valued throughout my stay. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, featuring comfortable bedding, modern amenities, and thoughtful touches such as a smart TV and fast Wi-Fi. The hotel’s location is excellent, situated in a vibrant neighborhood with easy access to Taipei’s attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. I appreciated the peaceful ambiance despite being in a lively area. The hotel also offers convenient facilities like a fitness center and a cozy lounge. Overall, OOD Hotel Taipei provided a perfect balance of comfort, style, and convenience. I highly recommend it for both leisure and business travelers seeking quality accommodation in Taipei.
