Jufa Hotel Bregenz

Plus: Room size Breakfast Parking Negative: Lights in the main area unfriendly harsh The town itself We stayed here on a Sunday on our way to Italy. The room (210) was nicely sized. The room and bathroom were basic but clean. I did miss an electrical outlet at the bedside. There is only a usb outlet hidden in the night light. The light in the main/dining area downstairs in the evening is incredibly harsh and unfriendly. Needless to say it doesn’t feel warm and cozy. We ordered our drinks and took them up to the room. The village of Bregenz is dead on Sundays. No one out and not a single restaurant was entertaining guests or even open. We ended up having a (great!) Döner wrap at a little Turkish cafe around the corner. The town itself also has a massive collection of buildings that reminded us of the grey and grim buildings of east Berlin in the 60s. Not picturesque at all. The one great feature is the lake so we walked around there for a few hours. All in all not a town I feel I’d want to return to, but as a passing through guest this was a fine hotel to stay.
Ibis Bregenz

This location really ought to be regarded as an Ibis Budget hotel. Staff at check in couldn’t manage a smile (nor any enthusiasm), and parts of the room remained unclean, and in poor cosmetic condition. The in-room hairdryer was held together with sticky tape. One of the bathroom glasses was wet at arrival, with a long hair inside it (despite my never having touched it). Unfortunately, and as with many Ibis hotels, the in-room soundproofing felt practically non-existent. The “bed” was particularly poor - a thin, rock hard mattress, set against the wall (no headboard), and propped up by legs that have seen better days. While my stay here came about by necessity (visiting from Vienna for the Bregenz Festpiele), I would be very reluctant to return. While it, obviously, is standard practice for hotels to inflate (sometimes severely) their standard rates during major events, this Ibis is simply NOT worth it for most people. Perhaps, paying the much lower standard rate, it might be 🤷‍♀️. Bregenz seemed a lovely, sleepy city - its Ibis does not do it justice.
Hotel Messmer

It is few years now that my husband and I are going to Bregenz Festival, enjoying Bodensee and the opera. This year we chose Messmer Hotel, and we've been very happy with the choice: right in the centre, conveniently close to everything worth seeing in Bregenz and in a waling distance from the venue of Bregenz Festival. We chose the package including ticket, an aperitif and dinner: we enjoyed it, everything was very good. Rooms are clean and cozy, very welcoming. The staff is very friendly and welcoming as well, making you feel at home. Definitely recommended!

We spent one night during the Festspiele in the Hotel and will surely go back next year :) This hotel and specifically the guest and the manager is demonstrating the classical timeless value of hospitality that should be adopted by even some 5 star hotels in other countries. Both the reception, the management of the guests, the organisation of dinner and answering ad how questions is absolutely effective and seamless. The hotel itself is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, yet even after the Festspiele a centrally managed shuttle bus was organised to get you back to the hotel from the Seebühne. The hotel manager itself demonstrated very appealing and evergreen principles of the hospitality by arranging seating of the desk during dinner and saying goodbye in the morning. The sustainability was apparent in the bathroom kit, air conditioning, and even the food offered. Although my wife is extremely noise sensitive, thanks to the isolated room we easily managed to get aggod night sleep. The staff is super cordial and efficient and the food offered for the dinner is super nice. The hotel is easily approachable and one does not have to hassle with parking, unlike in the city center. Overall strongly recommend the hotel for any stay be it during the Festspiele or other times. We will surely go back next year :)
Hotel Weisses Kreuz

Had booked a single night with very late arrival. The hotel went out of their way to ensure smooth arrival, calling with directions to enter the hotel at night. Very nice hotel right in center. Excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff in reception and restaurant. Would have liked to stay longer...
Hotel Germania

Super great staff, nice location, clean and comfortable hotel! We were able to check in early and given a map of things to see and do around the area. Our room was very clean and comfortable... weird to walk outside to our room but not problem even in the light rain. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and I would eat there again. The restaurant was quite busy but we were well attended to. The complimentary drink was a special treat. They had English option menu as well. The salad was beautiful and filling, the chicken curry and young beef meals were excellent. We were able to borrow robes from the desk to use the spa facilities which were very nice and relaxing sauna, infrared room, relax room, and showers. The included breakfast buffet was very nice as well. I would definitely stay here again.
