The grounds are magical and the location very convenient to town. Breakfast was a real treat, almost like being in the south of France. Our time went too quickly, but enjoyed it all. "My personal opinion: Good food. Worst service! The absolute worst! Go elsewhere!!! And floor management trying to justify super bad service was offensive!!! Specifically: server particularly instructed on order of how food at brunch to come out. Instead, two appetizers and one entree come at once. My wife told the server we were very displeased. No manager comes to table. My wife finishes her entree. I sill haven’t gotten mine. Waitress asks my wife if she wants anything else and we need to remind that my entree still had not arrived. Then after a rather long wait the second entree comes to table. Thereafter gratuitous “how is everything”. Server told that her service was bad and she messed up order totally. I did not curse, but did say “the was a f up”. Not full “f” word. Got floor management finally who came in all defensive on super bad service. Paid bill. Left a tip because I figured wait staff pay relies on tips. BUT. Both floor management and wait staff were totally bad. No understanding of messing up a meal, and trying to justify super bad service. Recommend all go elsewhere!!"

"My wife and I stayed at the Bridgehampton Inn for a weekend away. Everything about it was perfect -- cozy rooms, great drinks/bar and an outstanding restaurant (for both breakfast and dinner). Reading a book in the back garden amongst the hydrangeas was wonderful. The staff was an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend! Even if you can't stay at the inn, go for dinner -- you won't be disappointed!"

"The suite with a king-size bed and two sofa beds was not ready, so we changed to a suite with two twin beds and a sofa bed. The room was surprisingly large and clean. The hotel has a self-service laundry room, but the equipment is relatively old."

Capri Southampton ★★★

"Smack on the area’s major highway, this place qualifies as a rundown motel, and yet it charged $800 per night (after taxes) on weekdays for a 220ft2 room, with a noisy air conditioner and paper thin walls, built in the 1960s and probably not redone since then. We had booked two nights and realised our mistake on checking in, but the Greek female manager refused to let us leave early. The office bathroom had a prominent no smoking sign but reeked of cigarettes, presumably from the groundskeeper / handyman chain smoker. There is nowhere nearby to walk, so you’re stuck if you don’t have a car. The parking area has grass growing throughout its cracked surface and behind the motel was the kind of seedy, unkempt space a mugging or drug deal might occur. Included breakfast was edible but with no variation. I don’t think the restaurant gets much business as one guest complained no one was around when he tried to check in the previous evening. Another decried her $2000 per night (!) suite overlooking the back lot as it had a non-functioning light and no water to drink."
