The hotel is tired and in need of renovation and requires an injection of atmosphere. The breakfast and dinner were very good and well presented which was a bonus. Our room was very cold overnight and in need of renovation, the bathroom was good. When I booked online with Best Western it stated my debit card would be charged after checkin, in fact it was charged before we arrived which is misleading and dishonest. I highlight this as my husband needed to pay for the room.

Only visited for one night, to set the context, an inexpensive hotel, geared for short non tourist stays, so this would put their competition as the usual roadside selection. I chose it as the photos looked nice - it was only for one night, thought worth taking a punt, the location was perfect for my meeting next day. If you think of it as a bed and breakfast ‘slash’ hotel then you won’t be far from the mark. The whole building is quirky, bedrooms are also individual, this is a nice thing, not the square boxes normally on offer for these sort of stays. Room was spacious, very clean, everything i needed was there, very quiet. Bar was nice, lovely comfy sofas, nice glass of red after a long drive I opted for the cooked breakfast, strange, had to fill in an order form, but this meant the food was all freshly cooked, no line of dry stale food, lovely food. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. In short for those one night business trips to Bristol this hotel comes recommended.

Stayed here for two nights, room was lovely and everything you needed, bathroom was beautiful all lovely and clean they even provided moisturiser with the toiletries. Breakfast was amazing and plentiful, breakfast staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for you. All the staff were friendly and always smiling. Well stocked bar.I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Bristol thank you for having us hope to stay again soon.

Good value hotel but note at the time of writing they DO NOT have an EV charger installed (as advertised on their listings) Also the resturant is closed at weekends (this is clearly slated). Clean, well equipped room, good breakfast (but probably not worth £14 per head so get a deal). Friendly staff. 20 min drive to Bristol centre. Family friendly Storehouse pub close by

Arrived and checked in. only small car park. Rooms excellent but some needed updated. Excellent breakfast, very good poached eggs. Party room was rather small but adequate to our numbers. Sandwiches tasty but small cakes lacking in flavour!! Hot water urn would be better than hot water in tea pots!! Would stay again though 😁

A very pleasant stay with friendly staff, quiet large room and good service. We used the hotel as a base to visit friends and join them for a meal in Bristol and to view the light show. The hotel was good value.

Room is nice, clean and not too bad but room is badly insulated and the heating is not sufficient. For summer stay potentially ok but in freezing winter, I would not recommend this hotel. I got woken up middle of the night freezing as I think the heating was either lowered or off completely. Staff are friendly.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. I checked in at 3.30pm and went to my room. When I came down at 7.30 for dinner I was told the restaurant was shut because of sudden staff illness. I was later told by another member of staff that the chef had gone back to Morocco. I asked why I hadn't been told this and the man on reception said I should have asked when I checked in. Really? The bar (very small) was empty and I had to ask at reception for a drink. The only draught on offer was Peroni at £7 a pint. The man on reception suggested I go to a pub down the road for food but I had already established their kitchen was closed as well! The service and attitude of the staff was appalling and I don't think they have any idea how to run a tap, let alone a hotel!

Initial greetings from reception was very good, friendly and welcoming. We were happy with the room. This changed when we went down for our evening meal. Being vegetarian we had one choice off a limited menu. The ravioli with butternut squash, although tasty, appeared to have been cooked well in advance. It came with no sauce and was very expensive for what appeared on the plate. Breakfast however was very enjoyable with excellent service. On departure the attitude of reception on checkout was very poor, the worst we’ve ever experienced. When the receptionist finally looked up from her computer we asked for the bill which seemed to be a very arduous task for her. At no time were we asked if we’d enjoyed our stay, were given a smile or even looked at as she carried on working at the computer, even when she handed us the machine to pay. The only words she spoke were” Do you want a receipt?” Having said all this, because of its location to our family, we would stay again but would have an evening meal elsewhere.
