We stayed for one night while exploring the area. Check-in was welcoming and easy (didn't bother with the online check-in)....the room was large, clean and the beds were very comfy. Basics supplied....tea tray, mini-fridge, TV, extra pillows, but this is a 'no-frills' establishment. Not a problem as we knew this in advance. Positives: great location, parking right outside room, patio doors straight to garden, stunning views over countryside from adjacent pub garden, meals at the adjoining pub The Bear were plentiful and tasty, the pub was lovely and the staff were friendly, our room was clean, spacious, comfy and had a good shower. Negatives (causing me to only give 4 stars): no breakfast available on our stay, everything in room made a noise (one bed very squeaky, floorboards creaked a lot), bathroom window wouldn't shut and had only frosted glass (no blind), tea tray basic. The positives outweighed the negatives and the negatives may seem nit-picky, but we had paid only £10 more on the previous night at a different place and got quite a lot more for the extra £10, both in the room and by it including breakfast. However, would still return here if in this area...there's no reason not to....and would especially visit the pub.
