Palace Hotel & Spa ★★★★

📍 Palace Rd, Buxton

"Absolutely outstanding stay. The room and all hotel was spotlessly clean. The rooms amenities were very good, ironing board, iron, hairdryer, towelling robes, extra blanket and pillows, fridge, lots of coffee and tea and milk with a coffee pod machine too. Water in fridge. Amazing views from the bedroom AND bathroom. Tv choice was excellent with Netflix etc Could not fault. The breakfast was out of this world!!!!! First class service and food. Loads of choice Will definitely stay there again and ONLY there from now on Thank you to Jane who checked us in. Lovely lady and very helpful indeed."

YHA Ravenstor

YHA Ravenstor ★★★

📍 Miller's Dale, Buxton

"Amazing first stay at a YHA property. Wasn’t quite sure what to expect but the welcome was outstanding from whoever the lady was on duty around 8pm. The morning breakfast was excellent and the staff in the morning just as friendly. It was a little noisy at times but nothing we couldn’t deal with and was expected with families staying. A real lovely introduction to hosteling!"

Premier Inn Buxton ★★★

📍 131 London Rd, Buxton

"One night stay, room was comfy, warm and clean. Ate in restaurant for evening meal and breakfast, staff were friendly and there was plenty of room/ tables. Parking was fine, only improvement would maybe have been some grit on the surface as it was very icy and slippery when we stayed."

The Merchant's Yard

The Merchant's Yard ★★★

📍 The Merchant's Yard St John's Road, Buxton

"Stayed here for a 3 night break. We recieved a very warm welcome and were shown to our room. The room was spotless, comfortable and we felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. The staff here were absolutely lovely and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. There is plenty of chocie at breakfast and all the options we tried were delicious. We had two evening meals here as well and both were really enjoyable - great cocktails too. The hotel is located in a great locotaion for exploring the Peaks but also if you just wanted a quiet break it is a lovely place to relax. We will definitley be back!!"

The Queen's Head Hotel

The Queen's Head Hotel ★★★

📍 High St, Buxton

"Stayed at the Queen's Head hotel over the weekend due to attending a concert at Buxton Opera House. We were really well looked after and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean , warm and welcoming. Whilst there is no on-site parking, there is parking in the market place only a minutes walk away which was easy to access. Thank you for an enjoyable stay."

Rooms at The Vault
8.7 (25 reviews)

Rooms at The Vault ★★★

📍 2-4 High St, Buxton

"I must commend this small but amazing hotel, especially its bathroom shower system. It was the most satisfying shower facility I encountered during my month-long trip to France and the UK, bar none! The restaurant downstairs was also delicious and convenient, and hotel guests enjoyed a 10% discount. I highly recommend this exquisite little hotel."

Palace Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"Great surroundings! The hotel is super close to the train station and has a traditional, old-world charm. The only downside is no air conditioning. Still, I'd choose to stay here again for a hiking trip!"

Buxton Crescent ★★★★
"The hotel is quite expensive for what you get in terms of the room itself. However, the spa and sauna facilities are beautiful, well worth using, although they require an additional fee. Breakfast is à la carte rather than a full buffet, and the waiting time for the food can be quite long, to the point where it becomes a little boring. Personally, I prefer a buffet breakfast. On the plus side, the hotel is in a great central location, making it very convenient for sightseeing. There’s also a public drinking water fountain right outside the hotel where you can refill your water bottle."

YHA Ravenstor ★★★
"Positives: Great location and friendly staff. Negatives: Needs decorating and/or refurbishing as all a bit shabby. Breakfast was very disappointing really for the price. The worst thing however was the constant noise of a generator/extractor fan that was very loud and on all night , got very little sleep. Probably not go again. The quality of the YHA’s at least in the Peak district is pretty poor at the moment. I hope they manage to turn things around as they used to be very good."

Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel ★★★★
"Best Western Plus Buxton Hotel Stayed here for one night during my Peak District trip. The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Buxton and close to the Pavilion Gardens, bus stops, and walking routes. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm — perfect after a long day of hiking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and hassle-free. A solid choice if you’re exploring Buxton and the Peak District using public transport."

Old Hall Hotel ★★★
"The room is large, the bed is large, the old house, the elevator can enter three families, stick together, the bedding is cotton, but not high cotton, but it does not cause too thin and soft. The room number logo is chaotic, there are more than 30 rooms in total, and the first floor is actually looking for a long time. The faucet is separated from hot and cold water, there are cracks and watermarks on the wall, and there is rain leakage in the corridor. The atmosphere of the hotel is very good, breakfast is OK."

Premier Inn Buxton ★★★
"Location was great for walking in to town. Staff were friendly, curtious and professional. We stayed in one of the superior rooms which was beautiful and well equipped. As it was January the price was really good. Communal areas looked clean, bedroom and bathroom were spotless. It was a nice quiet hotel with plenty of parking. Will definitely be back."

The Merchant's Yard ★★★
"The Merchant's Yard is a true hidden gem. Our travel agent found it for us (we're from the states), and our two-night stay was not enough. From the gorgeous, newly renovated rooms (comfiest beds I've ever stayed in during a hotel visit!) to the overall vibe and layout and hospitality, I would go back in a heartbeat. But let's talk about the food also; the breakfast was outstanding, and the croissants were the best I've ever had in my life (and I'm very critical of croissants!) For dinner, the fish n' chips were outstanding, as well as the burger (that's high praise, because England usually can't get a burger right), and the dessert was absolute perfection. I can't wait to return eventually. What an incredible experience."

Rooms at The Vault ★★★
"The room (No.3) is excellent in its appointment. This has been tastefully modernised. Five stars for the room and its furniture. However… I was warned that weekends can be ‘noisy’ That is putting it mildly. I stayed for Friday night and Saturday night. The room faces onto the busy main road. Bars aroubd pulsed loud music into the wee small hours. It cannot be described as ‘restful’. In fairness I was warned by the owner. Perhaps Sunday night and mid-week nights are better. I would have given 5 stars throughout but have marked down location and amenities to reflect the noise."
