We booked The Sol for the first time as a cheaper getaway but thought the pictures looked lovely and had ready plenty of positive reviews and feedback about the hotel. We came beginning of the month to Sol 2 as Sol 1 hadn’t opened just yet. Staff were friendly, room was small but was fine for both of us and we were on floor 4 with the bins below opposite another hotel pretty much but that wasn’t an issue as we aren’t balcony people anyway. The room did get quite hot and our air con didn’t appear to work. We reported this to reception the first few days which they said they would send someone up but they never did. We managed with the balcony doors open every night which made the room comfortable enough however this then had us woken up loudly most mornings early by the bin men/ noise outside / glass shattering and a couple of mosquito bites. We have since seen in recent reviews that the hotel didn’t actually switch the air con on in the building until after we left, that’s fine but this should have been communicated. Cleaners came in everyday which was good however they did ignore the do not disturb sign one morning when we were still sleeping after too many sangrias! We enjoyed the all inclusive drinks, the sangria on draft was lovely and we enjoy cocktails and ameretto along with branded soft drinks so no issues around that. What brought down our stay unfortunately was the food. We did find breakfast fine, we could find something to eat your typical all inclusive offerings with Spanish bacon & sausage, fresh bread, pasties, pancakes, fruit, cereals, yogurt. Cappuccinos were quite nice however lunch and evening meals were disappointing. Didn’t feel there was a lot of choice and difference between the lunch and evening meal. All the same which was mainly burger/ hot dogs, a meat option, fish option, some pasta, chips, salad bar, bread and the pizza was delicious but didn’t seem to be on every time. Now we didn’t go hungry but the food was just okay and would say the poorest all inclusive offering we’ve been to. The salad did look fresh but could have done with more options and sauces, same with the meat and cheese station and the desserts were the same. When looking at previous positive reviews with Nutella, mini sausages on breakfast, doughnuts etc, we didn’t see any of them on offer. After a couple of lunches and one evening meal in the all inclusive, we decided to eat out the rest of the holiday. Other hotels we have stopped at seem to offer ‘themed’ nights or more extravagant options alongside better desserts on an evening. We didn’t use the snack bar. The first few nights the entertainment was inside and was really busy due to Sol 1 not being open yet and neither was the outside stage area. Kids club looked good but was on for a good few hours until 21.15 so if you wanted good seats for the evening entertainment afterwards you had to sit through kids club. We did however finally get our last night in the outdoor seating area and there was

We visited this hotel in September 2023 and thought it was pretty decent which is why we booked it again in May 2024. This time we were very disappointed it has gone way down hill and doesn’t deserve the 4 star rating it has anymore. Each day we would walk through the restaurant to see what was on thinking there may be something decent but the food this time was no where near as nice. I am not a fussy eater but we ate out everyday as the hotel food was repetitive and quite frankly disgusting. The staff in the restaurant were rude and we got told to move tables because the two of us were sat on a four seated table even though the place was empty!! The drinks are also very poor standard you get cheap acidic alcohol unless you upgrade for €26 per day which we were planning to do but the rules were changed since our last visit that you can’t just upgrade for one day you have to do it for the whole rest of your stay at the hotel. The pool area is quite nice had no issue getting a sun bed and plenty chairs around the bar area but each day the pool didn’t open until about 10:30am. If you were sitting by the pool from earlier you can’t use it as it has nets around it. My partner went to the reception at one point to ask when it opened and even they looked surprised saying ‘is it not open yet’. The rooms were okay the maids came in every day to make the beds and leave fresh towels but the bed is like sleeping on a pile of bricks. I still have a bad back now from it.

After reading the negative reviews we really were so pleasantly surprised to find the hotel was actually really good and honestly great value for money. It is a budget all inclusive so the food is ok kind of what you expect for the money you pay, it was always hot and fresh. We don’t eat in the hotel every night mostly use it for pool snacks, breakfast and lunch and always found something to eat. The hotel is spotless, cleaned daily and always fresh towels. The rooms are on the small side but were fine for us. We had no issues finding a sun lounger at the pool. Kids loved the pool areas and kids splash pool. What really made our experience great was the staff they really go above and beyond for guests and are a credit to the hotel. The kids club is brilliant the staff are amazing with kids really friendly. We found the location great close enough to the beach and bus stop right outside to travel to palma.

Stayed at the Sol Palmanova from 4th-11th May having returned today. I was travelling alone with my 3 year old daughter....Check in was easy and although our room wasn't ready it was about 1pm so expected it was made available in no time at all we had access to the facilities whilst we waited. Staff went above and beyond on one occasion we needed clean bedding and something clearing in the room the lovely lady in housekeeping sorted the issue and from then on stopped to chat to us and say hello when she saw us which was nice. Good choice of food and facilities my daughter loved the splash pool and spent hours there. Big huge thank you to the entertainment team who always interacted with my daughter you do a great job in arranging entertainment for adults and children they also went round speaking to the guests at times which was lovely my daughter loved the kids disco in the evenings. We had such a great time and the staff made me feel at ease which was nice especially travelling alone with a 3 year old we met lots of people but still very grateful for the staff checking if we needed anything! We will definitely return:)

The worst experience of my life. Hotel lovely, surrounding areas lovely...FOOD ABSOLUTELY VILE..TO THE POINT IT CAUSED ME EXTREME FOOD POISONING AND WAS IN BED 3 DAYS OF MY 10DAY HOLIDAY. Was called a liar from customer services and couldn't wait to get home. I will never go back... After that I never eaten in that hell hole again and went to surrounding bars and restaurants with no problem. Palma nova lovely and hotel was shame the food was so bad. Not worth money.

Fantastic Hotel for families , the children are very well catered for by the Entertainment Team. In fact the entertainment team I will give them 10/10 covering children and adult entertainment. Hotel is clean , bed was comfortable, only issue the maids would start knocking on your door from 8am in the morning and will return until you finally let them in, There is no “Do not Disturb” to hang outside the room door. So I felt a lack of privacy. Food was average , but ate most of the week in the restaurant, so there was something to eat for everyone. I see this hotel as a great Family hotel , but I feel you will loose this if you continue to serve as many Alcoholic drinks as a person wants. Younger visitors were ordering 5 cocktails and 10 Vodka shots over and over again. Younger groups were getting roudier and roudier, causing havoc in front of young children .. pushing each other in the pool, falling in the restaurant etc. Magaluf has now got a 6 drink a day policy in A/I trying to change the drinking culture. But I’ve got a feeling they are now staying in Palma Nova instead, and Palma Nova will be the new Magaluf, which would be very sad.
