Such a lovely place with always brilliant staff and service but Sunday Lunch needs attention! It looked great but sadly lacked in flavour and quality. The Welsh beef was tough and fatty, the Yorkshire Pudding was tasteless and paper like, the vegetables were not fresh and bought in. A few tweaks by prepping and cooking all of your veg and buying better quality meat would then justify the £19 price tag!

Beautiful place but unfortunately the management in the bar / restaurant are unwelcoming and unfriendly.. such a shame .. It’s as bad as all the reviews say so don’t be fooled into thinking it might have got better We nearly cancelled our food as my other half had to sit outside with our dogs while me and my son ate .. didn’t even feel like eating it because we were made to feel so un welcome Just because one of our dogs barked twice at another dog that was barking for food (our dogs are very well behaved would say if not) We were actually asked to leave even though we had ordered food and told people had complained even though they cannot have complained about us as we had only been inside 5 minutes and in that time I was stood next to the manager at the bar who had apparently had complaints and no one had complained to him during that time If complaints had been made about other dogs they really should have taken the time to make sure they got the right people and not been so rude And to be honest if your dog friendly then you really need to understand the odd bark Certainly not dog friendly and not friendly either !

We had a great 4 night stay. The receptionist was great. The breakfast staff friendly. The views and walks from the hotel worth the visit. We ate at the Hotel each evening and had some of the best meals we have had in a while. The seafood share platter with the samphire was stunning as was the silverside beef and Japanese curry. However, The £20 fish n chips was a bit stingy on the fish size and the fish stew was a cheesy tomatoey mess with little evidence of fish. In the morning the breakfast was great the salmon and scrambled egg a treat. With all the well sourced ingredients at this hotel, we couldn’t understand the choice of rusk based sausages!! There must be a good local butcher that could provide better quality or even better Lamb sausage with it being a Welsh Breakfast. Although I have been picky on some food aspects we would stay and eat at the hotel again without hesitation

We had booked the standard king room for 2 nights. On arrival we were terribly disappointed as the room we were given was no more than a box room - dark, small window, sprung mattress. It was no 8. I asked if we could change rooms as it wasn’t as per the photos. I was told by the afternoon receptionist that they had 14 rooms and couldn’t take photos of all of them - which was a strange response. She told us she could move us for that night but that they were fully booked the next evening. We said we would let her know. We went to the bar for a drink. And decided that we weren’t happy and would check out without staying. The reception closed abut 5 so we couldn’t speak to anyone. I asked to speak to the hotel manager, but he wasn’t due in until abt 8pm. However Carl, the restaurant manager was so lovely. He suggested we had a drink and our planned meal and that he would speak to the manager when he arrived. We did just that - our meal was lovely and the staff were very accommodating. So we decided to stay the night and check out the next morning. We went down for breakfast which was ok. We then went to reception and told Kelly( a different receptionist) that we were checking out. She asked the reason why, so I explained. She checked on the system and said that room No.4 would be available after about 12 and would we like to have a look at it. Which we did. It was lovely, nice big window with views of the Bay, larger room and a comfy memory foam mattress (unlike the awful sprung bed in room no.8). Kelly couldn’t have been more helpful and is a credit to the hotel. From then on we really enjoyed our stay. If it wasn’t for Carl & Kelly we definitely would have left the first night. We ate in the restaurant the second evening and once again the food was lovely. Then there was live music which was really good. During the evening the owner of the hotel came over to speak to us and apologise for what had happened. The hotel is in a lovely area and we had a wonderful drive out in the afternoon. If you are going to stay, the best rooms are rooms 3 & 4.

I have visited the Gadlys a few times in the last couple of months. Have been once when they have had evening entertainment with a dj, and its been great fun! My other visits were during the daytime both weekdays and weekends. Great team, both bar and front of house. Shout to out Carl the Manager and Zoe working front of house. Lovely food and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

We thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful weeks stay at Gwesty Gadlys. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. We received many lovely ideas of places to visit etc. They all seemed happy in their work which reflected very well with the hotel and location. There is a lovely little harbour with a couple of pubs and shops and a heritage centre just a short stroll through the field in front of the hotel, and within 5 minutes you’re there. There is a coastal path which is stunning, and in May the wild flowers are spectacular. We had Room 4 on the first floor at the front of the hotel, looking down to the harbour, a large spacious room, plenty of storage, comfy chairs to sit in to admire the views. Nice bathroom with shower. All spotlessly clean. We were anxious we might encounter noise (of people and cars etc) being just above the bar/restaurant and outside eating/drinking area (ear plugs were provided!) but by around 10.30/11pm it went very quiet. We had access to a resident’s balcony where we could sit out and enjoy the views. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with choice of continental and/or cooked. Nice spacious breakfast room with bay window overlooking the wonderful views. First come first served if you want the “best” table in the bay window! Lunchtime and evening meals, including drinks etc, were in the restaurant/bar and lots of outside seating. Booking is always recommended. We had good weather for our stay and it got quite busy. I imagine in the heat of the summer holidays this place can be very popular indeed. Lots of things to see and do on Anglesey. We love birdwatching and nature, so it was right up our street. Near the harbour there’s a small woodland and a stream and you get to see beautiful Red Squirrels which are abundant on the Island. A regular boat trip operates from the harbour, but phone beforehand (the hotel will give you the number) as that can get booked up quickly.
