Fulton Lane Inn

Charleston|0.04km from Brooks Brothers
Located in the heart of the downtown area, Fulton Lane Inn is one of the Charming Inns franchise that owns six boutique inns in the city of Charleston. My wife and I spent three nights there in April and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We stayed in #321, a spacious room that looked out over King St. The room was clean and everything worked, including the jacuzzi tub. Plenty of towels. Here's something really cool: you can complete an order form for complimentary breakfast, hang it outside on the door handle by 11:00 PM the night before, and staff delivers it the next morning within the time frame you specified. Another cool thing: complimentary sherry every evening in the lobby. Sit and sip to your heart's content. The staff at Fulton Lane Inn is , competent, friendly and helpful. Good people. Location is a bonus. When we visit a city for the first time, we stay downtown and explore on foot. Charleston, SC is perfect for this approach, and Fulton Lane Inn's location makes it easy to discover the best of the city between Calhoun St. and the Battery. An easy walk to the Central Market, Riley Park, Charleston Music Hall, and lots of other fun places. But you don't have to walk everywhere; a number of horse drawn carriage companies offer tours of the city, and you have to take the ferry to Fort Sumter if you have the time. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Fulton Lane Inn and look forward to returning the next time we travel to Charleston.

Bijou Boutique Inn

A perfectly located and very homely little bed and breakfast that packs a lot of bang for buck. Friendly service, beautifully appointed rooms (excellent shower!) and located near all the historic sites of Charleston.
The Vendue and the Enclave at the Vendue
4.1/561 Reviews
Wish the rooms were as nice as the lobby. I'd skip a stay and visit the lobby en route to the rooftop bar. Rooms are not in as good repair as they should be for an upscale hotel. Superficially, they have a glitzy French theme, with all the trim painted a glossy red. Functionally, our room had peeling paint in the bathroom (where the tile floor and wall meet). The door jammed at the half way open position, and there was an extremely loud A/C that woke us up whenever it turned on at night. We were given a new room in a remote corridor that opened to a decrepit wooden staircase. Very odd! I wanted to like this hotel. It's very well located, but I can't recommend in good faith for an overnight stay.

This hotel was lovely! We had a small issue with breakfast, as it really is limited. But customer service and everything else was wonderful!
French Quarter Inn
4.8/5102 Reviews
We stayed at the French Quarter Inn for our 45th anniversary and right from the start fell in love. All guests have champagne to greet them, but the front desk supervisor, Tahliha, made us feel so special with a bottle of champagne and a gift waiting for us when we arrived. Seryna, at reception helped with our numerous questions and requests, always with a smile. The rooms were very clean and decidedly upscale, with marble bathrooms with Deep Steep personal products, buttery high count sheets, sound machine, a pillow menu (I tried every single one) and the linen spray was divine. Each room has a mini fridge, safe, comfy chair with ottoman and desk with stationary. The evening wine and cheese reception was just perfect after a day of exploring. Warm cookies, ice cold milk and port wine in the lobby at night, were the perfect end to your day. Turn down, by Ann, at night was the ultimate in being pampered. We walked into our room with romantic music playing, bed turned down with our choice of pillows, bottles of water with fresh ice in the bucket, chocolates, a note telling us the weather and sunrise/sunset times for the next day. Over the top was glass cleaning wipes on my my iPad! Breakfast was always delicious and filling, do not miss the gluten free lemon breakfast biscuits. During the day there were always cold beverages and the candy bar to give you a lift. The French Quarter is in the perfect location, close to everything and even provide bicycles to their guests. We have been so spoiled and cannot wait to return!
The Spectator Hotel
4.8/5101 Reviews
The Spectator is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at and we've stayed at many 5 star hotels. This one by far beats them all. The concierge service and itinerary bookings made by Lane exceeded my expectations. She helped plan a wonderful weekend to celebrate my husband's 50th Birthday. She planned our car service, dining reservations, a marquee sign at the American Theater, Wine and Cheese plate upon arrival, rose petal turndown, private horse carriage tour, private plantation tour, massage in our room, bike taxi arrangements, and surprise birthday decorations and a delicious cake for my husband's birthday. This was one of the most romantic weekends we have every had in our 15 years of being married. I can't say enough about her service. The service provided by the butlers was exceptional as well. Our butler, Jim, was amazing and made us feel extra special. We were very sad to go home and can't wait to return to the Spectator.
Meeting Street Inn
4.2/5101 Reviews
This is an older property, so you get the ”old Charleston” feel. However, our small bathroom was updated, modern, and our beds were comfortable. The A/C unit worked, sort of. The continental breakfast was good, though if you have any special needs, bring your own (our room included a small refrigerator). Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Central location is great for doing the usual things tourists do. We'd stayed there before and would again. Make sure you are comfortable with the cost, which is high, as are the prices in Charleston's peninsula historic area generally.
