Hotel Mondial am Dom Cologne - MGallery

Cologne City Center Cologne|2.5km from Arnulf-und-Elizabeth-Reichert-Haus
Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. The waiter even suggested where I could sit so that I can get the best view of the area. Awesome! I would like to thank the remarkable staff for making my stay in Köln memorable und unforgettable. I would definitely be staying in this hotel again when I visit Cologne. Adina Apartment Hotel Cologne

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights for business in May. The hotel is pretty new - I think less than 2 years old. The rooms are quite big, with full kitchen amenities (fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, full set of glasses. The surprise was there was no kitchen roll for cleaning - all the apartments of these types of hotels have some cleaning paper. The location is very close to Koln Messe Deutz station, and we made easy travel arrangements by train to the Dusseldorf fair. The room is clean, the windows are opening (a big plus), and the façade is quite modern. The hotel is quiet, especially since my room faced the open courtyard, which was super quiet, even sleeping with open windows. Breakfast is OK, nothing spectacular, and I think a bit overpriced for the 23 EUR per person. The only problems we had were with sporadic services and some items in the room malfunctions: I had electricity problems with the power supply (caused by a defect in the dishwashing machine which could not be switched off - The fuse went off). I had a problem with the telephone. For every problem, I had to drag to the reception (unable to talk on the phone). The coffee in the room was delivered in the first few days, the next 2 days, and there was no new coffee pack (to make your French press). One day I did not have big towels delivered (the housekeeping did not replace the used towels on the bathroom floor, and I had to go to the reception to ask for them. I would give that hotel 3 stars, but the best surprise was the super fast internet connection (free). We had 200 MB/sec, perfect for surfing and streaming.

I have never been to a hotel where there was no staff present in the evening and had to collect the keys. It is interesting what COVID has done. Coming to the hotel, the location is not far from the train station - 10 min walk (longer if you are hauling luggage); once we reached, we collected the keys from the 'safe' outside the hotel. There was really no staff to guide us - it was easy getting to the room. The room was spotless and lovely in just white. A bed room plus a small separate lounge area which we found just perfect. The window overlooked the courtyard and had a fire escape access which we used as a balcony. Everything was good about the room expect the shower where the water pressure was low and was more like a sprinkler than a shower. Breakfast was actually nice - breads, coffee, cheese, fruits, eggs etc. The owners was helpful and chatty - I guess, we are all recovering and adapting to the COVID pandemic. Location wise, its perfect to get around anywhere by walking - to the Dom and surrounding areas or to the Zoo. Close to the river side as well. Stay there again, yes!

The youth hostel is in a good and quiet location, it's relatively quiet at night and the staff can come quickly, but they were unmotivated, which was noticeable when the food was served. Regrettably, a clock was missing in the room and the locks on the valuables lockers in the room were prone to problems. The subway station is not very far away, so you could walk. As usual, the food was much too small 100 ml glasses and the only water dispenser was always used, so there was a 5 meter queue in front of the machine. That was very annoying when eating. The juices didn't taste like juice (and there was only at breakfast) and the yoghurt didn't taste like yoghurt either. When eating, it was almost always loud, so that it was difficult to understand each other. There is clearly room for improvement. The Rhine beach is very beautiful and quiet. However, in the flight path from the local airport, which is great for plane fans, but you always heard the subway at night. There were also rats and a lot of wasps (summer) on the outside area.

The hotel is the most cost-effective hotel in the entire Cologne exhibition hall area. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the tram Cologne exhibition hall station to the hotel and halfway through the German chain LIDL cheap supermarket. After Ctrip prepays the room rate, you do not need to pay a deposit when you arrive at the front desk of the hotel. In addition, the city tax of 5[%] of the additional room rate does not need to be paid in advance. Consumer psychology is very comfortable. The decoration style of the hotel rooms is white and modern. The rooms are also equipped with desks. The entire area is very spacious and comfortable. The hotel also carefully puts German welcome gummy on the pillows of the guest beds. Like most German hotels, the hotel does not provide toothbrushes but shower gel and shampoo. In addition, the water in the shower room is a bit slow and congested. I have stayed in the ibis hotel in the same area before, the price is 100-300 yuan more expensive than this hotel, the room area is only half the size of this hotel, and it is very simple. Generally speaking, if you come to Cologne to participate in the exhibition and the budget for accommodation is limited, this hotel is definitely the first choice.

I would like to congratulate the staff as I stayed during the Covid epidemic as a flight crew and it was obviously not a normal experience for all. Staff were friendly (not always the case at the moment) and helpful. While social distancing in the restaurant wasn’t ever going to be a pleasant meal the food was good and appreciated. Many thanks.

Arrived mid morning and received a friendly welcome to the hotel. Our room was ready for us and was on the first floor. Spacious room which was clean and had adequate space for storage. Bed was a twin but pushed together which suited us. The bathroom was bright and airy. Toiletries provided which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was help yourself to the buffet style. Lots of choice to suit all tastes. The location was ideal for getting about cologne, We are happy to walk everywhere but you can hire a bike, taxi , train and hop on and off bus. Get the train from the airport which will save on money. Just under €7 for two adults single fare. We really couldn’t fault our stay at this hotel.
