Extremely slow and unaccommodating check in and out. Terrible dinner. Nice garden setting.

Unique property with every room being different in shape size and style . Very well maintained and green place . Staff is very helpful and service oriented . Only challenge was they have these lights in front of every room which is supposed to go off in night post 11 pm but two out of three days that didn’t happen and lot of light seeps into the room and makes it difficult to sleep if you are sensitive to light while sleeping . Other than this the stay was pleasant and we loved the place .

We stayed 3 nights at Gateway Coonoor in May'24. Overall it was a very good stay at an excellent location with great hospitality. The positives largely outweigh the improvement areas. NOTABLE POSITIVES: 1. Location, landscaping, lush green gardens 2. Service levels- special mention to Anandha, Britto, Chef Ramalingam (all F&B), Nagaraj- HK Manager (who also took us around the property to show and explain its various flora) and the Front Office staff, as well as Security who were very courteous 3. Food was amazing! 4. They have a complimentary foot soak with hot water, tea leaves and lemon brought to your room (on request) which feels refreshing after a long day of walking and in the evening cold. 5. Proximity to both Coonoor town and Upper Coonoor Bedford main street, whilst maintaining its seclusion 6. Special mention to Anthony, who was our driver and guide for both our transfers from and to the Airport, as well as local sightseeing to off the beaten path locations. Extremely polite, resourceful and of great help! A real asset. IMPROVEMENT AREAS: 1. The room walls were incredibly thin in the Superior Rooms category and we could hear noises/ creaky floors right behind, as well as conversations from other guests and the room also has a small window up top which is not closed, so the light from outside seeps in; not a good thing if you are a light sleeper. 2. The key system for room access is now through the IHCL Mobile Key app. While seen as a good initiative to cut down on plastic/ room cards, it had its flaws- we struggled to have the OTP sent to my number due to some backend issue, it took a long time to sort this out; and they needed to do the registration through one of their staff's CUG numbers before adding my M-PIN. It was a bit of a hassle at the start but thanks to the team for having this fixed. 3. The Recreation/ Games area needs better maintenance. Some of the fixtures like TT Table and other games had missing pieces/ faulty equipment. Overall, we cannot have any major complaints about our stay. Value for money? Perhaps just about or at slightly less value, considering the rates, but I suppose that's an issue for the reservations or revenue management and outside the control of the excellent resort staff who did everything they could to make our stay great.

One of the best hotels to stay in coonor, great location, excellent good and need i say more on the hospitality which was top notch. Taj has a way to be caring and warm and deliver delight without saying. This time around infact if taj had to review us they would have rated low since we changed rooms 2 times and finally since we were not feeling great about the rooms they double upgraded us to a large room. Thanks to Nitesh and the GM there to accommodate this request. Secondly the food was absolutely a delight right from breakfast to lunch to dinner an outstanding chef and kudos to the entire dining team. The rooms though are colonial style i would recommend rooms in the back side facing the garden. All in all a great hotel apart from a small glitch in payment which I am sure the team will sort.

We went for a snacks. Got that. But was really thrilled because of the sceneray, ambience and very good staff. Special mention :: Kamesh, Srimanta, Mahanta, Prem Ananthi. The old colonial structure is maintanied, just like Madurai Gateway

Went as a non resident guest from kotagiri to eat food with family. We were alone and placed order by 7.45pm food was served by 8.45pm approx. Only 2 staff and rest all interns I suppose. They were so busy that we had to wave hands to get attention. Finally pizza came and it was worst pizza ever,raw and was breaking. No cherry tomatoes,not even sliced tomatoes were used,just a dry pizza topped with sauce,cheese and few basil for garnish. Main course came after telling them that it's very late and we have to drive very far,mains were good in taste but after so much wait you loose that charm and experience. There was no underliner under bread basket which is very unhygienic. Paid 5000INR after travelling 30km one side .

Love the greenery & landscaping, and food was just outstanding. Big thank you to Mr Kiran of front office, Mr Srimanta and entire F&B team, and of course ever smiling wonderful Mr Nagraj who showed me the beautiful flower garden. Hospitality & staff response was just brilliant, my sincere thanks. And yes, my hello to “Chocolate”, he’s my best friend in Conoor. I loved the compassionate story of how this canine became resident member. Will plan to meet Chocolate again in Sept/Oct!!

The Property is on the prime location in Coonoor yet it has the calmness of a pristine place. The Hotel is well maintained and stays true to its name of Heritage Property. They have really managed well to keep the modern amenities sync well within the Heritage Tag. The staff are very friendly and professional. The experience has been truly memorable. Everyone from front desk; travel desk; housekeeping; restaraunt hve been truly friendly and gave a comfort feeling. The Nature walk ; Morning Yoga; Club Room Activities; Outdoor games; Bon Fire every experience was very good. To Summarise All the Staff at Taj Seleqtions Coonoor make you feel a Home away from Home.

The Chef Mr.Ramalingam provides you any food you ask for with great taste and quality. Every department in this property is functioning great. Great experience. The F& B department headed by Mr.Shailesh Giri is providing great service. The garden and the lawn maintained by Mr.Nagaraj is extraordinary. The manager Mr.Rahul takes care of the guests like his own family members.
