Urban House Copenhagen by Meininger

We spent three wonderful nights at Urban House Meininger this March 2024. The twin room we had was on the small side (about 20 sqm.) but was comfortable enough for the duration of our stay. This is a no-frills hostel -- there's no TV or fridge, but you got a warm bed, a clothes rack, and a private shower. The staff were friendly, approachable and hepful. There's a bar (where they host karaoke nights), a restaurant, a shared kitchen and even a swanky cinema room. Overall, Urban House has a modern vibe that will appeal to both backpackers and family travelers. In a frightfully expensive city such as Copenhagen, this is a sensible choice.

We stayed here as a couple for three nights. The check-in, luggage storage, and daily breakfast made it an easy experience from start to finish. It was walkable to lots of destinations, and definitely walkable to any transport spots that get you to the places farther away.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and had a great stay. Out private room was a good size and clean. It’s in a great location, being walking distance to the meat packing district and train station. There was a good atmosphere in the bar at night and the breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

I would recommend staying here for the price as it’s very reasonable, due to other accommodation in Copenhagen being so expensive. However, you pay for what you get with it - it’s a very basic room and the staff aren’t the most friendly. However, the location is good and it’s very well priced, also looks to have a lot of events/entertainment on in the bar of the hostel which is cool.

This was perfect for what we needed. Beds were comfy, staff were helpful and the location is ideal being right next to the train station. The bar is good fun with a great atmosphere and the prices are really good considering what you do get compared with other hostels. Definitely recommend

Really impressed with this place. It was the first time I had ever stayed in a “hostel” but found it to be better than quite a few “hotels” I have stayed in. Comfy bed, friendly staff and a decent bar. Most importantly it’s really easy to find given its proximity to the Central Station. This was a life saver as I went exploring shortly after checking in and got a bit lost, and quickly found that all the metro lines do run through the central station making it easy to get back to home to refind your barings and go out exploring again.

Perfect location for a city trip. The hostel is very cool designed with rustic features and decor, just what we like. It is prime location, 5mins from the station which will take you anywhere in 10-20mins max in Copenhagen. You not only have the option to eat bfast at the morning buffet but u can bring your own outside meals from your favourite takeaway or restaurant and eat it in the common areas. Amazing concept. You have lounges, chill areas, reading lounges, pool table & fussball, live music on some nights, quiz nights, something for everyone. We did plan to join the quiz night which was advertised to begin 8.30pm so planned dinner around that to be back in time, & when we arrived at 8.10 to get a table it had already begun? So that was disappointing. Overall the room did the job, we just needed a place to sleep& the overall vibe of the hostel was great. We plan to come in Summer again to see CPH in a different season so will book here again for that. Highly recommended.

My sister and I went to Copenhagen for a midweek break. We stayed in Urban House Hotel. I have to say it was just a lovely experience, the staff were very friendly and helpful, room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable got the best sleep 💤 even though the room was right next to the street. The breakfast was delicious and lots of variety. Would highly recommend Urban House Hotel

I made a booking through their hotel website for a 2 day stay 2 weeks before I intended on arriving. I received a confirmation with my details and a temporary booking ID. I was told a confirmation email would be sent to the email I provided. This was never received. I had to change my plans, 36 hours after making the original booking, whilst I was in Iceland, and spent many hours trying to navigate their website and help centre. I couldn't access Manage my Booking as it would not recognize my name and Temporary Booking ID. The links I had to follow to cancel my booking brought me back to the same page that would not recognise my details. There was no free number to call, and I was unable to find an email to contact them from my phone. I contacted the hotel after they charged me for the stay and explained the situation with screenshots of the attempts to contact them and confirmation I never received an email. They continued to inform me they had sent an email and that i should have called them on there 1800 number. They where unable to show me where on the site I could access this. Because if it was there I would have called. They where also unable to resend the email they said they had sent, or show me a sent receipt with date and time. I would definetely not recommend using their hotels unless you speak the language of the place you are staying, and have a local phone that you can use to track them down. They make it so incredibly difficult to make any changes, once you've booked, that they are guaranteed payment regardless of any situation. Total scam and appalling customer service.
