I was cautious when booking as recent reviews were so bad. However, I took a chance as it was for one night and the location was perfect for me. I had a good experience with this hotel. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful, day and night staff. Great location with cafés, restaurants and entertainment in walking distance. I had a good size room with a large bathroom (with a bath). The decor is dated, but bedroom was spotless, the bed was clean and comfy and felt very safe as the door had a double lock. The bathroom a little "scruffy", but no mould or insects and yes, you could hear my "neighbours" up chatting late in the night. Overall a pleasant experience.

Good hotel, good bedrooms, great location, 5 minutes walking to centre, around restaurants, cafes and pubs. Exclusive residents bar. Friendly and helpfull staff. Free car parking to the residents, beside the hotel. Terracy to smokers.

This place is horrible. Absolute dump , dirt everywhere horrible smell ,broken beds , toilets not working and with a glass door, extremely overpriced , stuck in the 1950’s. €150 for a room wouldn’t pay €1.50 for a room. No one should have to go through this. Dirt on every surface. We were told the bar would be open till 2 and when we went for a drink there was no bar open. At least most of the spider infestation was cleared before we arrived as there was a thriving number of flies buzzing around the room. We friend was also locked in the bathroom as the lock fell off

This place is a kip and should be avoided like the plague. It's a cross between the reception of Faulty Towers and the bedrooms of Father Ted. The website is no reflection of the hotel as it shows nice rooms and has a picture of fish and chips, and they don't do hot food. They charged me €160. for the night and as there is no parking at the hotel I had to pay €12.50. €172.50 what a rip. The only reason they can charge this amount is that the cost of hotels in Cork is outrageous. I stay in hotels two/to three nights a week, and I would like to congratulate The Ashley on being the worse I have ever stayed in the world.

Old school hotel. 170e between 3 people. Room was fine, bathroom was more modern than i expected.Thought it was great value for what we got. Could have stayed another night. Staff overall friendly. Daphne at the desk was very friendly and helpful to us. Great location. A hot breakfast offer could improve this place.

Perfect location. The hotel is in a great spot for exploring the city. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room and hotel in general was dated, but the bathroom had an updated bathroom suite and stand alone shower which was really spacious. Personally I don't mind a dated decor as long as the bathroom is clean and new, which it was. The hotel was quiet, our room was directly on to the road but there was no loud noise on an evening. Would definitely recommend if you want a hub for exploring. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room, plenty of coat hangers and a full length mirror.

The Ashley Hotel left me utterly disappointed. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I sensed an air of neglect and decay. It's as if time had forgotten this place, and unfortunately, so had the management. The rooms reeked of dampness, like a forgotten cellar. The musty odor clung to the walls, the curtains, and even the bed linens. It felt like sleeping inside a soggy sponge. The walls had bad plastering and the wallpaper peeled off in patches. The furniture seemed to have been rescued from a time capsule. The bed creaked like an ancient ship, and the chairs wobbled dangerously. I half-expected a ghostly figure to appear and demand its antique back. The pièce de résistance was the thriving mushroom colony. Yes, you read that right. Mushrooms sprouted from the corners, as if the bathroom doubled as a secret fungi garden. I half-expected a gnome to pop out and offer me mushroom tea. Housekeeping? More like house-napping. The cobwebs in the corners seemed to have settled in for a long-term lease. I half-expected them to start paying rent. Final Verdict The Ashley Hotel is a time capsule of misery. If you're seeking an authentic "damp, dirty, and mushroom-infested" experience, this is your spot. Otherwise, I recommend you run – run far away, like a startled deer escaping a haunted forest.

Sign up in the bathroom warning of an ‘false widow spider infestation’ which had been “mostly” dealt with. Room itself was old with multiple patches of mold painted over. Bathroom door offering zero privacy. Avoid. Dusty old spider riddled hell home, in need of a wash.

How this hotel could ever have been rated 3 star accommodation in ***********, blows my mind! 🤔In all our travel across the UK, we have never stayed in a dingier, dodgier place. Rooms are old and dilapidated. Shocking bed , Shocking bathroom ! And if you can believe it a toilet seat that would crash on your back every time you sat down. Almost hilarious 😂 at how bad this place was! Weird ,different staff every day. Just missing good ol Basil Fawlty and Manuel!! Don't dare unCORK this place! You have been warned. A tent might have been better value!!
