This is an honest review that is not meant to dissuade anyone but to offer a thorough unbiased review. My opinion of New World before my stay was that it was a 5 star hotel, it certainly wasn't horrible, but after my stay and comparing to other Dalian hotels in its league that I've stayed in, think it doesn't fit the bill for a 5 star hotel. I can't complain about the service, Check in was swift and we got a free room upgrade and spa coupons, but the hotel room carpet was stained, there was dust in some places and the furniture and room amenities are aging, slightly dated and need to be improved (I didn't feel the need to zoom in on those issues so the pictures wont reflect this) . I loved that there were lovely art pieces throughtout the hotel and the fitness centre was top notch especially the heated pool. The breakfast buffet had fewer options than expected for a hotel of that standard but it was honestly delicious and satisfactory, they had both Chinese and Western dishes, fruit and cereal. The waitresses from Guo restaurant had the best service they went out of their way to make our dinner pleasant. The most disconcerting issue I had with New World was that the room deposit refund took longer than I've ever experienced, I found it highly unusual and somewhat disappointing because I've stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and usually the refund is instant but they told us it would take up to 3 days. Maybe this is standard practice for them but it made no sense to me and I've never had to wait that long. In any case surely it doesn't take 3 days to check a room!

I’ve stayed in a few Hilton Hotels In my experience, Dalian Hilton is very Normal. I went to celebrate my 6th Wedding Anniversary. The trip started with a bad check-in to the hotel where I had to drag all my luggage to the room, there was no one to assist me to find my room or someone to explain to me where my room was located. I had to search for my room myself dragging all my stuff. I asked the front desk for some help. Later I complained and the front desk apologize and send us a fruit plate. The room was nice good not 5-star level maintained. Lack of Amenities very few not all were in the room. Some services were provided in Conrad like swimming pool breakfast. No in-house entertainment for guests. The breakfast service was very good. Excellent staff and guest relations. Not too many but great choices of Western and Chinese dishes. Hats off to the chef. In conclusion, it’s was a good stay. This hotel needs to improve Guest relations and have some in-house entertainment for the guest.

We Visited Dalian during our Summer vacation & we loved it. The place is a little hidden so it took us a little while to find it. When we arrived the receptionist was welcoming and spoke English which made checking in easy. The Room was tidy and everything was Smooth we will definitely come back when we visit Dalian. Thank You to the ladies at the Reception their service was by far better than the service we just experienced at a 5 star hotel.

Secondly, the drainage of the bathroom in the room I live in, if the switch is not working well, you need to use the suction cup of the foot pad to suck it out (Figure 4). Finally, there was a room opposite the window of the room where I lived with a mirror, which was always facing us. My husband is a Chinese, and he said that this is not very good in China (I don't think it is much).

Because I am relatively weak, the rain switch can't be turned, so I asked the front desk attendant for help to turn it off. The next day the hotel staff called me and said I was sorry for my poor experience, so I was upgraded to a deluxe room for free. To be honest, there is nothing wrong with the standard room, it’s just that I can’t turn the rain switch with weak hands, but the hotel upgraded the room for me so that I also felt valued and thoughtful service.
