Hyatt Place des Moines Downtown

The room was not clean. There was food in the fridge left by the previous guests, tabs from cans on the floor and the soap dispenser in the shower was empty and the bed was really noisy so when people moved, you heard it. I didn’t have an issue with parking but their ramp got full so other people had to find alternative parking.

I have had a better room at a Motel 6 than at this Hyatt. The bed was uncomfortable, would roll to the center. The hot water in the shower was a dribble. The carpet was old needing deep cleaning or replacing. Room was not made up over night. On the 7th floor traffic was so loud thought the bed was in the middle of the street. Breakfast wasn’t bad. Parking was across the street and $30. a day.

Badly needs to be renovated. Does not meet the typical Hyatt standard. Everything is beat up. Didn't even have snacks/drinks or basic medications available in the lobby. Thankfully it was only one night.

This was a good location right downtown Desmoines and easy access to malls and restaurant thorugh Skywalk

Friendly and helpful staff. Super nice to be able to take the skywalk around town when it’s raining. Lots of close by things to do.

Breakfast was great. Cooked fresh with several items to chose from. Parking was priced way to high if park at hotel. Blinds in my room dusty, hair in shower with very slow drainage. Bed mattress broke down on the right side. The cable in room did not have a guide to show what was on. Ended up purchasing a fire stick. Room was very spacious and design worked well with a hallway as to not disturb others sleeping. Room could use some updates or repairs as stain on carpet and paint chipped from varies items. Staff were great! Very helpfull. Super friendly. Parking of 30 dollars a day is a deal breaker. If one night stay maybe but for a 4 night stay was pricey.

The breakfast was excellent and the parking garage across the street (connected by a skywalk) was convenient.

Best breakfasts I've had in a long time. We parked at 5th and Keo, worked out great! Room was clean, beds were comfortable, staff was very friendly and helpful. Kids enjoyed the pool!

Hotel definitely needs updating. Room was clean but definitely had seen better days. Bed and pillow were awful - pillows were flat and bed had dip in the middle. Thermostat in room wasn’t working - was uncomfortably warm without even a fan during the stay.
