Overall the place was great. Friendly staff, great location! I would suggest different curtains rather than sheer as you’re super close to the stadium/ lights that shined through all night. Made it a little hard to sleep with the room being light. The breakfast was a little below average any hotel breakfast, nothing cooked like meats or eggs. But the fresh fruit and bagels were good to hold us off till lunch. Breakfast isn’t served till 9am, which is a little late in my opinion if you’re headed off early in the AM. Overall it was a good stay and a great location within walking distance to either 3 stadiums, and I would book again.

The hotel was beautiful. My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a concert at the little Caesar arena and this hotel was in a prime location. I will definitely be going back.

The visit started off badly, we pulled into the parking lot only to be greeted by parking attendants who asked if we were hotel guests, and upon finding out we were, asked us to pull up right next to another car in a handicap spot. We backed out of the way so we could get our bags out of the car and as I was preparing to move the car closer to the other car, as instructed, a hotel staff member came out and also started giving parking instructions. I packed my car in like a sardine next to others, got out and went to check in. The staff member was checking someone else in and told us to sit down and she'd get to us when she could. She then proceeded to take the other guest on a tour and then didn't return. After waiting for a while I walked back to the door and saw that she was standing in the kitchen, by herself. Unsure if this was a passive aggressive move after the parking disagreement, but it sure seemed like it. After that she walked back and checked us in. No issues after that - room was nice, breakfast was simple but good, staff present in the morning were nice. The parking thing is ridiculous and they need to make it clear on booking sites that you won't be able to just pull in and park when there is an event. If we hadn't attended the event we likely would have been blocked in, as they were parking cars 2 deep in the tiny lot. We were berated by both the parking attendant and the hotel staff member upon arrival that "the hotel doesn't own the lot" - how is that my problem? I booked a room at a hotel that advertised "self parking available" so I expected to pull in and park in a spot. But when we tried to do that we were told that the lot was "sold out" and we had to cram in. Then we also had to pay $30 to park for the night, despite not being able to use an actual parking spot. Just book a hotel that has clearly written parking procedures/policies and avoid this hassle. It's too bad because it's a nice historic building and it's in a great location.

This business is doing what I believe are misleading business practices and unprofessional customer service by The Inn at 97 Winder. The Inn advertised a 20% coupon, which influenced my decision to consider booking with them. After I was unable to locate or receive the advertised coupon, I reached out politely to inquire about it. Rather than providing clarification or assistance, I received a response that I found dismissive, accusatory, and unnecessarily hostile. As a potential customer, I expected either an explanation of the promotion or a courteous response. Instead, I felt that my legitimate question was treated as though I had done something wrong simply by asking about an advertised offer. Businesses certainly have the right to establish the terms of their promotions. However, when a promotion is advertised, customers should be able to ask reasonable questions without being spoken to disrespectfully. My concern is not solely about the coupon itself, but about the overall customer experience and the manner in which the business communicates with prospective guests. I am filing this complaint so there is a documented record of what I experienced. I am not requesting any resolution or compensation. I simply believe consumers should be aware of how inquiries regarding advertised promotions may be handled, and I hope the business reviews its customer service practices.

I stayed here while attending a wedding, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. When we first arrived, the staff were friendly. However, once more wedding guests arrived—guests they knew were coming—the attitude seemed to change. We were repeatedly told, "You should have told me," even for things that seemed like they should have been expected. The biggest issue was the parking. The property rents out its parking lot for events and charges guests to park. They have everyone park in the back of the lot and then pack as many vehicles in as possible. If you plan on using your car during your stay, be prepared to have it blocked in. I wanted to drive to the wedding venue, but apparently I was supposed to tell the parking attendant ahead of time that I planned to leave. Even after I did, he parked five more cars in front of mine, making it impossible to get out without having multiple vehicles moved. That experience alone is enough that I won't stay here again. Breakfast was also uncomfortable. The staff constantly hovered over guests, immediately picking up or cleaning anything that was set down. I appreciate wanting to keep the area clean, but it felt like we were being watched the entire time. If you were in the kitchen, staff were standing there. If you were in the dining area, they were there watching as well. It made for a very awkward dining experience. The strangest part was that they appeared to hide the orange juice during breakfast. When we asked for it and actually drank some, the staff seemed annoyed and told us we should have informed them that we were going to drink orange juice so they could have planned to buy more. That was a surprising response, especially for something as basic as orange juice at breakfast. Overall, the lack of planning for an event they knew was happening, the parking situation, and the uncomfortable interactions with staff made for a poor experience. I would not stay here again.

Absolutely incredible, one of a kind stay! Nicest area, within walking distance of Detroit’s venues. The staff, dining area and continental breakfast were icing on the cake. Can not recommend this inn enough!

Denise was great checking in and showing us around. The room with the soaker tub was awesome. The hotel is in a great location for the sporting events and theater. We would stay here again.
