I booked a room 3 months ago through *********** for June 29, 5 nights.. I read elsewhere that one should check reservations made through *********** as they might not exist. Two weeks ago, I emailed the hotel and sure enough, I was told that I had no reservation because of "payment refused." *********** still showed "Confirmed" and when I phoned, the agent had no explanation except that this sometimes happens. She cancelled the non-existent reservation. .Hotel was now fully booked. What a disaster this would have been as it's the weekend of Le Mans Classic. Fortunately I was able to secure lodging directly at another hotel.
