Amazing place! It has everything that hotels need to have: - great location, centrally located in the old city - spacious rooms with everything that you need (we stayed in one of their suites). It had a full kitchen, with dish washer and oven!! It also had washing machine. Very nice hotel. Excellent service. Location was ideal, rooms were well designed and very comfortable l. The food during our stay was very good during the medical tourism conference. The chefs are to be commended. An added specific compliment here for the employee, Zoe. She is one of the restaurant managers. She worked both days of our trade show as her time was needed at our conference. She did an excellent job, was most helpful to me and other guests, was busy all the day, translated from English to German for some of the other staff in the kitchen and was smiling all the day asking how everyone was doing. She is a excellent employee and a representative in the hotel to seek for assistance. Her English is perfect. Excellent attitude and work ethic. Also, the check in by Mr. Koch was also very good. He helped me find a pharmacist quickly before it closed, printed the directions and showed me where to walk. There is a most helpful man working in the lobby. I spoke with him a long time. He is from Nigeria. I travel to Africa often for my work. This hotel has exceptional service, amenities and staff. Well done Zoe, Mr. Koch (cannot remember his first name) and my Nigerian friend in the lobby. The lobby of the hotel is quite attractive. Worth spending time there relaxing.

The heating was on in the room full blast when I entered — not very eco-friendly, and hard to cool down the room using the confusing room temperature controller. Furnishings felt a bit worn and out of date. For some reason, they put a second desk in the room, positioned at an awkward angle to the bed in front of the window, taking up floor space. Nothing of any interest in the surrounding area — if I didn’t have business in the area, I wouldn’t stay here. A high point was the breakfast buffet, which was very extensive, with many choices.

The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was adequate. The staff were polite and accommodating as we did arrive earlier and managed to get a room and we were also very kindly and free of charge granted a later check out. The location is certainly central and there is easy access to public transport. However, this is not a boutique hotel, at least in the rooms themselves. While the communal areas looked nicely decorated and stylish, our room did not in the slightest meet the same standard. We stayed in room 336 and allow me to itemise a few maintenance items that need attending to: reading light not working as was damaged; side lamp only had the one bulb, tiles in bathroom about to come loose and clearly a lovely water stain by the air con vent. None of these impeded a comfortable sleep or an adequate stay, however they did make the room look tired and not worth its value. Ah and when got a call to the room we were unable to take said call as the phone cord came loose. We attempted to put it back but still the phone would not work. We were prepared for the room being small and it certainly was small and did the job, Lastly, If parking on site do be prepared for tight corners and bends. Anything larger than a Mini does require some manoeuvring and care, you may well come out of the parking with scratches on your side, as you will notice by the many scratches left by previous drivers on the walls.

Lured by the positive reviews, I stayed at the Hotel Villa Achenbach for five nights. The hotel fell far short of meeting minimal expectations. You may be well advised to consider another alternative for your stay in Dusseldorf. On one evening with a temperature of 4 degrees outside, there was no heat in the suite. When questioned about this the next morning, Alexandra, the person at reception, mumbled something about 'it depends on the weather outside but now it is set where it belongs'. There was no internet service in the sitting room of the suite. Indeed, it only works consistently at the desk; it cuts out frequently other places. There's no connection in the bedroom. Alexandra stated it could not be fixed before my departure since 'the IT guy is away'. Housekeeping is uneven. Trash piles up . The area around the sink where I have placed my toiletries hasn't been cleaned since arrival. The bed is not made properly. It is easy to hear the footfall of the guests thon the floor above the suite. The general manager is apparently away for a few weeks. Neither Alexandra or Anna seem to have the authority to address these problems and adjust the bill. There does not seem to be a plan in place to ensure guest satisfaction. This is made worse by their failure to volunteer information. I must always ask for it and Alexandra in particular has yet to deliver it in a sympathetic way. While the idea of small, cozy hotel like this is appealing -- and it's a lovely place -- at the Villa Achenbach it is very difficult to feel comfortable. The idea in my experience is much better than the sad reality of the physical plant and the unhelpful staff.

The hotel is definitely bound by its cozy style-interesting facility. The rooms are all very individual. I had a very large double room with a newly renovated very large bathroom. It was located in the back house over a staircase in the subterrain, yet very impressive. I felt very well. Ladies and gentlemen at the reception and breakfast were super friendly and attentive. The breakfast itself is also very positive, a lot of fresh fruit (self-made fruit salad) and fresh egg foods prepared on request as well as the selection of sauce, cheese, bread and bread (brushing!) have also been very fun. I'll certainly swim here again next time in Düsseldorf.

Less than 2 mins walking distance from train station, really convenient to reach the airport. I spent one night in this budget hotel, liked everything except the bathroom. Shower leaked lots of water on the floor, and the towels were not really white. Comfortable room with balcony, breakfast at charge. I do recommend it.

The car is very dry and safe in the deep garage of the hotel. Lifts are available. The location of the hotel is super metro and S-train and the city centre/old city are well accessible walking. We are happy to come back.

I recommend a room on the back of the hotel, as the front side is aimed at the railway route and sensitive guests may hear the trains. The room was clean and very well equipped. I always find it very sympathetic when available free water and hot drinks (for the pre-stop water cooker). It is also positive to mention the board with iron in the room. I think it is very important for business travelers. The breakfast was very good (short, cheese, S*****en, salmon, rod, cooked eggs, bacon, good bread selection). I would book again there.

I am very satisfied. I booked this hotel during the exhibition. This kind of hotel chain will not be unexpected in all aspects, just like KFC and McDonald's all over the world. I forgot to take pictures, but what I can tell you is that it is very clean and tidy, the room is not big but it is sufficient, the management is good, and the transportation is convenient to get out of the subway. Very close to the city center, very satisfied!

I was put up at the Niu Tab for a night by my company as a company event took place nearby. So were a number of my colleagues. I quite enjoyed my short stay. Most of my colleagues liked the hotel as well. The rooms weren’t very spacious, but were clean, stylishly decorated, and equipped with TV, A/C, a safe and a hairdryer. No minibar or coffee/tea making facilities, though, which we would have liked upon our arrival as we had gotten stuck in traffic for hours and were quite thirsty. Breakfast was buffet style and was very good. Lots of choices, fresh, well-prepared food. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. One point of criticism: when we arrived at shortly after 4 p.m., only about half of our key cards had been programmed. I was one of the lucky ones who got their cards right away, but some of my colleagues had to wait for over half an hour. I call that lack of organisation, particularly since we arrived much later than planned.

Although the hotel is a bit far away from the train station (still within walking distance), the room was amazing! The price for a twin room was less than 100 euros and breakfast was also included! Love this hotel very much. Definitely will check in again. PS. NO fridge in the room. but the ice is available from the bar.
