Imagica Water Park

First, we’re off to Maharashtra. Imagica Water Park has such a great range of attractions on offer – from high-energy exhilarating rides, to the best spots to relax and have some chilled-out fun. You can find Imagica Water Park at 30/31 Sangdewadi, Khopoli-Pali Road, near Lonavala, Khalapur, 410203.

All the thrill lovers out there will be right at home at Imagica. Take the Loopy Woopy slide, for example. It begins with a 39-ft vertical drop, before sending you on 360 degrees of loops the rest of the way! Hope you don’t get too dizzy!

If it’s the pure speed you’re seeking, then the Zip Zap Zoom is just as fast as its name suggests. This is a high-octane mat racer that sends the rider through labyrinthine twists and loops before bringing you down for the final straight. You’ll definitely feel the G’s on this one…

Being close to Lonavala, Imagica Water Park is just a short drive from Mumbai and Pune. In fact, you’ll find it just off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, around 4 km from the Khalapur Toll Plaza.

If you’re approaching from Mumbai, you should head in the direction of Navi Mumbai and get onto the Expressway. After you exit the Expressway at the Khalapur Toll Plaza, take the first exit on the left. Before you’ve gone 500m, take a sharp right onto Khopoli Pali Road, and after around 3 km, you’ll start seeing signs to Imagica Water Park.

If you’re coming from Pune, get onto the Expressway and pass through the Urse/Talaegon Toll Naka, then leave the Expressway at the Kalapur Toll Plaza. Take a left onto SH 104, then another left onto Pen Khopoli. After that, it’s a right onto Khopoli Pali Road, at Hotel JP Palace, then another right at Pali Hotel. Soon you’ll see the signs for Imagica! Phew!

The water park itself is open every day between 10:30 and 18:00, with ride access from 11:00 to 17:00. Standard admissions to the water park start from just USD8.53 (INR699), but there’s a whole set of great discounts available, too. Check their website for more details!

Why not make your visit a convenient one, with a stay at The Fern An Ecotel Hotel in Lonavala? It’s just off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and a 40-min car or bus journey will take you right to Imagica Water Park. With great restaurants, a swimming pool with a jacuzzi, and Wi-Fi in every room, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day having fun.

Suraj Water Park

Also in Maharashtra is the award-winning Suraj Water Park. At this water park in Thane, you’ll find one of Asia’s largest man-made waterfalls, the Har Har Ganga. Along with that, there’s a full cornucopia of rides and attractions.

The park’s 16 slides include the vertical drops of the Rainbow Slide and the Ding-Dong and Sing-a-Song. For the romantically inclined, there’s also a couple’s ride called the Dhadkan – the only one of its kind in India.

There’s a wave pool in the water park, too, with waves of different sizes keeping all keen swimmers and fun-lovers entertained. Two rivers also wind their way through the park – the Crazy River and the Lazy River. One is fast and wild, the other is more laid back. You can pick and choose, depending on your mood!

If it’s a calm, relaxing trip through the park, one that lets you enjoy the sights and sounds of the crowds having fun, then the Lazy River is definitely the one for you. You can recline and let the current take you where it will – a truly idyllic experience.

Suraj Water Park is located at MH SH 42, Dongripada, Thane West. That’s just off the highway north of Thane. The best way to get there is in a car or a taxi, but Bus 17 will also take you there from Thane Station in around 50 mins. From Borivali Station, Bus 18 or 29 will get you there in about 1 hr.

The water park is open between 10:00 and 18:00 every day. Standard admission for adults starts at just USD12.21 (INR1,000), with kids between 3'6" and 4'6" getting in for USD9.77 (INR800), and kids below that height getting in for free.

One of the best places to stay for a visit to Suraj Water Park is the Byke Suraj Plaza in Thane West. It’s just 4 mins north of the water park by car, and rooms start from just USD73 per night. Shirdi Water Park – Wet n Joy Water Park

The third great water park in Maharashtra is Wet n Joy Water Park in Shirdi. There’re rides that all the family can enjoy, like the suitably-named Family River. The whole lot of you can crowd into a 4-seater raft and enjoy some quite leisurely twists and turns on your way to the bottom.

Similarly, the Lazy River will let you lie back and relax as a gentle current carries you on a winding course through the water park. And if you feel like grooving after that, head to the rain dance, where you can move to the beats of the house DJ under the downpour!

Often when we’re traveling with kids, it can be a hard time keeping them entertained – especially when we’d quite like to have a little fun ourselves! This is one water park that really has this covered. There’s so much for kids to do, and you won’t worry about them (or their safety) while they’re enjoying themselves at these kid-friendly attractions.

That means you’re perfectly free to enjoy yourself, too! Thrill-seekers will find what they want at this water park, too. Take a ride on the Anaconda, a 4-storied ride that will plummet you 90 feet down to the splash pool at the bottom. The Dare Devil Drop is a real screamer, too – probably the fastest, most thrilling slide in the whole park. Try it if you dare…

One of the really special slides this water park has to offer is the Pendulum Slide. The name doesn’t lie – it will swing you back and forth all the way down, giving you butterflies in your stomach. See if you can stand up straight when you finally get off it – it won’t be easy!

Wet n Joy Water Park is open every day of the year, from 10:00 to 18:30. Rides are in operation between 11:00 and 18:00. The water park is right on the Nagar-Manmad Highway – if you’re coming by train, head for the Sainager Shirdi Station. The address is Mauli Nagar, Shirdi, Maharashtra 423109.

Admission to the park is USD8.49 (INR694) from Monday to Friday, and USD9.93 (INR812) on Saturday and Sunday. A very affordable price for such a great water park!

While you’re there, enjoy a stay at St Laurn – The Spiritual Resort, where you can rest your tired bones in the lap of luxury for a night or two. As the name suggests, this resort doesn’t just offer a place to lay your head – there are great facilities for meditation and spa.

You won’t find a better night’s sleep anywhere around, and you’ll wake up feeling totally relaxed. Maybe you’ll even be ready for another day at the water park! With sophisticated interiors and plenty of amenities for the kids, rooms here begin at just USD26 for a night. It’s a steal!
