What is WOWPASS & How does it Work?

At first, the app was a bit tricky to navigate. Then there were difficulties finding ATMs, and some shop assistants looked at the unfamiliar card with distrust. But after a short time, everything became much easier. Ultimately, the card proved to be very convenient for traveling. It was accepted almost everywhere: in cafes, shops, hotels, and other places. It's truly a great option for tourists. The only drawback is that transfers from Russian banks are not supported. However, you can top up the card with other currencies, and funds are credited without any problems. It's also convenient for tracking expenses and paying for transportation. Overall, the card made traveling much easier and eliminated many everyday hassles abroad. I was very pleased with its use and will definitely keep it for future trips. I recommend it to anyone planning a trip abroad! 😊

Very convenient, the card is fantastic! Carrying a lot of cash around isn't always convenient. I didn't pick up the card at the airport because I read there was only one machine there and decided to find one near where I live. There are machines all over the city; I looked for them on the map. It's easy to top up, withdraw, and even transfer money to someone else! Super convenient, thank you!

We received our card vouchers at a special terminal at the airport. Once in the city, we were able to top up our account and start using the card right away.

The signal is great! Very fast and stable. It’s come with free call and text. I love it! (But you have to change the sim and set up everything for yourself, staff at the counter won’t help you.)

How to Use WOWPASS

How to Use WOWPASS

1. As a Transit Card (T-money)

  • How it works: Simply tap your WOWPASS on the contactless reader at subway turnstiles, bus doors, or taxi payment terminals.

  • How it works: Insert your WOWPASS into the card reader at shops, restaurants, and convenience stores (or tap for contactless payments where available).
  • Coverage: Accepted at most places that take card payments in South Korea, including major retail chains, cafes, and even street food stalls with card readers.

3. App-Based Balance & Payment Management

  • Use the WOWPASS App to track your spending, exchange currencies (e.g., USD ↔ KRW), and set up auto-deduction from your foreign currency wallet if your KRW balance runs low.

What are Key Features of WOWPASS

What is WOWPASS & How does it Work?

1. T-money Transit Card Integration

As South Korea’s primary transit payment method, T-money is accepted on subways, buses, and taxis nationwide. WOWPASS builds in T-money functionality, so you don’t need a separate transit card. Simply tap your WOWPASS to ride—no more fumbling with ticket machines or cash.

2. Multi-Currency Payments (USD Supported)

Load funds in U.S. Dollars (USD), Japanese Yen (JPY), KRW, and other major currencies. A standout feature is auto-cross-currency deduction: if your KRW balance runs low, the card automatically uses funds from your USD (or other foreign currency) wallet, converting at the real-time rate at checkout. Skip frequent top-ups and currency exchange counters.

3. App-Managed Currency Exchange

Exchange currencies instantly via the WOWPASS App (e.g., USD to KRW) with real-time rates—usually more favorable than airport or bank counters, with lower fees. No more waiting in lines at physical exchange desks: top-ups, currency swaps, and balance tracking are all digital, saving time on your trip.

4. ATM Cash Withdrawals

Use WOWPASS as a cash card at Korean ATMs to withdraw KRW. The amount is deducted from your foreign currency (e.g., USD) wallet at the current exchange rate, so you avoid carrying large sums of cash—boosting safety and convenience.

We did book the hotel as a birthday present for my sister. Hear her feedback: ” I would like to thank you all for making this stay an unforgettable one. We enjoyed our stay and the kindness of the staff who made sure to accommodate us from the beginning. Thank you for the birthday cake, the upgrade, and the flexibility regarding the swimming pool. We had a great stay and we hope to come back” She also said breakfast options are huge between continental buffet, Korean and Chinese food. The staff is very great and helpful. The only minus thing was that the swimming pool is usable only 3hours per day

An excellent stay. From the moment I arrived I felt very well taken care of. Every member of staff was polite, friendly, and patient. I booked a twin room but was offered a King size on arrival. I had a river view that was so beautiful! Namsan park is just across the road - the location is perfect, perfect, perfect! Room service was prompt and the food was good. I didn’t have breakfast. I did eat at JJ Mahoney’s and that was excellent - super service!! The one thing that did seem odd was I couldn’t seem to not get water all over the floor when using the shower. Not sure if it was the pressure (which was great), or the angle of the shower head (which I did adjust to try and rectify things). Nice to see sustainability measures in place for amenities, towels etc. Oh - checking in on a Friday seems to be incredibly busy. I came home from an excursion at around 4pm on Friday and the lobby was jam packed (as was the gallery for tea etc.) so perhaps try and time your visit accordingly. Excellent stay, will definitely be back!

Very beautiful hotel. Greeted by staffs who helped open the car door, and get your bags and luggage to the check in counter every day! Only bummer was at check out timing is 11am, we tried asking for later check out timing during check-in and was told hotel is full. Managed to get a late check out of 12pm when we tried again the night before leaving the hotel. Hotel has a little mall,a coffee bean, CU, some expensive restaurants. It also has a sauna (30K won per pax), 1 hot and cold tub and one sauna room. Room amenities can be requested via the web app in your room. Rooms were very modern, however Water from the shower does flood the dry toilet area a little. Generally a great stay.

My partner and I stayed at the Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun for 5 nights and had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we checked in, we were warmly welcomed by Dennis, who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. He provided us with a lot of helpful information about the hotel and surrounding area, and his service throughout our stay was exceptional – truly 5-star! The location is fantastic – just a short walk to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park subway station, which made getting around the city incredibly easy. There are also plenty of convenience stores and cafes nearby, which was super handy. We also appreciated that the airport limousine bus to Incheon Airport stops just a few minutes from the hotel – very convenient for our return trip. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and well-maintained, with great amenities and comfortable rooms. It definitely lives up to its 5-star rating. We highly recommend this hotel to couples, families, or anyone looking for a quality stay in Seoul. We would definitely return in the future!

I highly recommend the voco Seoul Myeongdong! The service was incredibly thoughtful and patient; even with language barriers, the staff were always proactive and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. The location is absolutely fantastic – ordering food delivery was super convenient, and Nandaemun Market is right downstairs where you can grab traditional snacks. It's also very close to Seoul Station and Lotte Duty-Free Myeongdong, and you can walk to the Myeongdong shopping district. The hotel even has its own GS25 convenience store, a coffee shop, and Burger King, making food and drinks incredibly easy. There's an airport bus stop right outside the hotel; you can take the 6001 bus directly from Incheon Airport (get off at Nandaemun Station, just tell the driver 'voco hotel' and they'll stop). It made getting around so hassle-free. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Seoul!

Staying at this hotel in Seoul is incredibly convenient. Getting here from Incheon Airport is a breeze – just take bus 6015 directly to the hotel, and for your return, you can catch the bus right outside. It's super handy! There are also several subway stations nearby. If you're coming from Line 2, exit 10 has an escalator, which is great if you're traveling with luggage. Check-in was fast and the staff were lovely, always smiling. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job daily, even noticing I have long hair that needs blow-drying and kindly swapped out my old hairdryer for a newer, more efficient one. I’ve stayed here several times in the past, and it didn’t disappoint again. The room is huge, the bathroom is nice and clean, and the staff are always kind and helpful. The room temperature was excellent and kept very warm during the cold winter in Seoul. The hotel is right outside a metro station, which makes getting around very convenient. This time I also discovered they have self-lock luggage lockers, free for the first 24 hours (or available for a small fee after), which was very useful. The laundry machines are also affordable and work well, with dryers available too. Overall, a very comfortable and reliable place to stay that I would happily return to again.

The hotel's cleanliness was decent, but it felt like it was located right next to a landfill; every morning when I opened the window, there was a faint smell. The air conditioning in the room wasn't great, and I actually caught a cold from it. However, the hotel staff were very friendly and attentive, and they all spoke Chinese. One rather strange detail, especially for Chinese guests, was a large mirror facing directly towards the head of the bed... so if that bothers you, you might want to look elsewhere. The location itself is good, right next to a subway station, but unfortunately, that station doesn't have an escalator or elevator.

I have to say as a first time sole female traveler— I always travel solo and I must say! this place is a gem! Lemme tell you first, the entrance to the hotel is at the side (I am bad with directions)… if you come late and the mall is close, face left and entrance is just at the side lol. In front of the hotel, there are lots of restaurants and you can always eat as solo traveler. Lots of choices and good foods. Lots of street market vendors if you just walk 1-2minutes and love this. I initially dont like the room (because of the view) (I only book places for their views tbh) as I have initially asked for a good view room on my request and all ;; and as what was advertised but it is my mistake for not booking city view room but I saw on some reviews they got nice city view room; and had to ask for a change because I stayed for 6nights. They advised as it was late, they have got no rooms available and informed me they will change on the next day. They promptly changed it on the morning itself saving me the time in to initially checking out and wait for availability. They were really quick in addressing the concerns I have and was very helpful. Really appreciate it as a first timer visitor in the city. Will definitely come back to this hotel and will book city view room next because so worth it!!!! Thank you for being so kind and helpful ❤️❤️ DDP is just 5mins walk and was so mesmerised! I have got the trail view and the trail is just so pretty! Will include the pictures of the trail! Once you got on the trail, you can see Namsan Tower as well! Very very wonderful stay!

From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew this stay would be different. While many luxury hotels offer grand decor, this one combines that elegance with a warmth that truly makes it feel like a home away from home. Check-In & First Impressions: The arrival process was seamless. The staff was exceptionally welcoming, and I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade to a studio suite. They even let me choose the essential oils for my room's diffuser during check-in—a small but incredibly thoughtful touch. The Room: The suite was spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean. The highlight was the ”Heavenly Bed”—I haven’t had such a deep, restful sleep in months. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a majestic view of the city skyline, which was particularly stunning at sunset. Dining & Amenities: Breakfast was a highlight. The spread was vast, featuring everything from freshly made dim sum to a live cooking station. I also spent an afternoon at the rooftop infinity pool, which felt like an oasis high above the busy streets. Service Excellence: What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. The team was attentive and responsive, anticipating needs before I even asked. When I had a minor issue with the AC, the maintenance team fixed it within minutes with a smile. Final Verdict: Whether you are traveling for business or a relaxing family holiday, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The prime location and impeccable service make it a top-tier choice. I will definitely be returning!

Traveling with kids means location, transport, and dining options, catering to both crowds and quiet spots, are all key considerations. First off, the location was perfect – the airport shuttle drops you right at the hotel, just across the street. We noticed fewer Chinese guests and more European and American visitors. Right opposite the hotel, there's Olive Young, McDonald's, and a fried chicken joint. To the left and right of the hotel entrance, you'll find a 7-Eleven on each side. The streets behind the hotel are packed with restaurants. Just about 200 meters to the left of the hotel entrance is Mapo Subway Station, which is only one stop from Yeouido Department Store – super convenient. If you head right from the hotel, you'll reach Gongdeok Subway Station, where you can find the popular Egg Drop sandwiches, which are a great value for breakfast. The hotel doesn't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, so it's a good idea to bring your own set. If you forget, there's a machine on the first floor where you can buy them. For your return journey, you can catch the airport shuttle to the airport right in front of the McDonald's opposite the hotel. You can buy tickets on-site by scanning a QR code or paying with cash. Highly recommend this hotel for families with children.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay at Roynet Hotel Mapo — Great Location & Wonderful Upgrade! We had a fantastic stay at Roynet Hotel Mapo during our family trip to Seoul. The location near Mapo/Gongdeok station is absolutely perfect — easy access to the subway made exploring the city effortless, from Gyeongbokgung Palace to Hongdae and Myeongdong. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a Premium Room, which was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable for our family of four. The staff throughout were warm, professional and incredibly helpful — nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast spread was impressive with a good variety of Korean and Western options. The location is fantastic! Subway Lines 2 and 4 are right nearby, making it super convenient for getting around. Myeongdong Lotte, Myeongdong Shinsegae, and the Myeongdong shopping street are all within easy reach. Plus, the airport shuttle bus stop is less than a five-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. There's a Korean lady at the front desk who speaks excellent Chinese, and another Chinese lady, so communication was a breeze. The lobby has a free coffee machine and popcorn, and the doorman works quite late. You need to use your key card to access the guest floors, which made me feel very secure. Traveling with family, we opted for the connecting rooms. While not huge, having two bathrooms was incredibly convenient. The best part, though, was the location – we could walk to Myeongdong shopping district, and our embassy was visible right from our window.

This hotel is quite old. For a hotel that costs 4-5k a night during peak season, the view from the window is really just average, to be honest. The interior design of the rooms is also very ordinary. My mom even said it's not as good as a 400 RMB/night hotel back home [awkward laugh]. It's supposed to be a hotel with an 'old money' vibe, but apart from the slightly more luxurious lobby design, you really can't see any five-star luxury anywhere else. My stay experience gets 🌟🌟🌟, and the interior design only gets 🌟🌟🌟🌟. However, it's right next to Shilla Duty Free, just a two or three-minute walk away. So, it's convenient for those 'suckers' who want to shop at the duty-free store.

We had a fantastic stay at the Novotel Suites Ambassador Seoul Yongsan. It is one of the 3 hotel towers in Seoul Dragon City. It is well connected to Yongsan station via a bridge (exit 3). The hotel amenities is very good and there is a convenience store on level 2 (Ibis Ambassador Styles tower side). There is a small swimming pool and jacuzzi too (only open on certain days). The staff were polite and helpful. We look forward to another stay at the Novotel Suites Ambassador Seoul Yongsan.

The location is good, directly opposite of the lake and next to Lotte world mall. To MTR it’s 5-7mins. The front desk staff is not accommodative at all, any request is like „no, we can’t“ attitude. As of the cleanness and amenities, first of all, the shower head did not work properly, the aircon did not work during the first night ( better the second and third) and the tooth brush glass had stains when I checked in ( see photo attached ) Overall, not recommended for luxury stay, but if it’s just a family vacay, why not.

The hotel is clean and the location is great. The airport shuttle goes directly there, there's a lot of good food nearby, and it's very convenient to get to Dongdaemun.

We visited Banyan Tree to relax for a day after the ceremony! As soon as we entered the room, we were greeted with a delightful bouquet of flowers and a glass of wedding wine, which was incredibly satisfying! My husband's shoes were even cleaned and brought back the next day. As always, we were impressed by the exceptional service and convenience, and we had a wonderful rest! We were a little disappointed we couldn't make a spa reservation in advance, but we'll definitely make one next time! Overall, we were very satisfied! Oh, and there's no convenience store, so it's best to stock up on necessities beforehand! There were so many things to do at the hotel that it was a shame to leave! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Front desk is super friendly . I had a 2 year old and they kindly allow an early check in for me which helped out greatly and I really appreciate it. Rooms are big and spacious . Can open up my 2 giant luggage and put a crib in it . Bed was comfy and overall it was clean . Wish they change out the carpets to wood floors would be a lot cleaner . Location is wonderful right in myeongdong with lots of food in walking distance . I will for sure stay here again next time. !

The only thing I'd recommend about this hotel is its location. It's right in Myeongdong, and you can see Namsan Tower from the room. It's also convenient for getting to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan, and Dongdaemun. It's not a 5-star hotel, more like a Sheraton express. The toilet seat had some dirty spots, making it feel not thoroughly cleaned. The breakfast selection was limited, and the bread was hard and unappetizing. For over 2000 a night, you're definitely paying for the location; don't expect much else.

The location is great and the service is excellent. COEX Mall and Starfield Library are just in front of the hotel. It is also very convenient since it is near the train station entrance and bus stops.
