How to Enter Tiananmen Square: Booking and Entry Guide 2026

How to Enter Tiananmen Square with/without Chinese Number or Wechat

Tiananmen Square is free to enter, and you cannot walk in. A real-name reservation is mandatory, there is no ticket window, and staff at the perimeter checkpoints turn away anyone without a booking. The process is genuinely simple once you know the mechanics, but it has one specific trap for foreign visitors: the booking system is built around Chinese phone numbers, and the official desktop portal does not accept foreign ones at all.

AI Summary
This summary is AI-generated by Trip.com. For the complete guide, please refer to the article below.

Tiananmen Square requires a compulsory real-name reservation 1 to 7 days in advance via the WeChat mini-program. Entry is free but demands a physical passport for verification at mandatory security checkpoints. Foreign phone numbers are often invalid for direct booking, so requesting assistance from hotel concierge desks serves as the most reliable alternative. Walk-ins are not permitted, and visitors must select specific time slots for access.

How to Enter Tiananmen Square? 4 Ways

How to Enter Tiananmen Square? 4 Ways at a Glance

For a foreign visitor, the easiest route is the mini-program inside WeChat. It opens directly in the messenger and needs no separate registration anywhere else.

The second channel is the Jingtong (京通) mini-program, which runs in WeChat, Alipay and Baidu and suits anyone already comfortable with Alipay. The third is the Beijing Daily (北京日报) and Beijing Time (北京时间) apps, which have to be installed separately and are Chinese-only. The fourth is the official desktop portal, which per the official clarification does not accept foreign phone numbers, so it should not be treated as your main option.

Download and install anything you plan to use before you travel. Working through a Chinese-language interface is far less stressful at home than at an airport.

How to Book Tiananmen Square in the WeChat Mini-Program?

How to Book Tiananmen Square in the WeChat Mini-Program, Step by Step
How to Book Tiananmen Square in the WeChat Mini-Program, Step by Step
How to Book Tiananmen Square in the WeChat Mini-Program, Step by Step

Set up WeChat before you fly, not at the airport. The interface is Chinese, which is much easier to work through when you are not tired.

  1. Open WeChat, tap the search icon and search for 天安门广场预约参观.
  2. Choose 个人预约, meaning individual booking.
  3. Accept the visitor rules and tap 预约参观.
  4. Pick your date and slot. If you are booking flag raising, you also choose the exact entry window.
  5. Tap 请选择核验地点 to choose your checkpoint, mark it on the map and confirm with 确定. Without a checkpoint, the booking will not go through.
  6. Add each guest through 新增常用游客. For every person, set the document type to 护照 (passport) and enter the name, passport number, nationality, gender and age exactly as printed in the passport.
  7. Tap 提交预约, then 确认提交 to finish.

Once the booking appears under your reservations, it is confirmed. One guest can hold several bookings, so a large group can be split across two orders if needed. The mini-program itself states an upper limit of ten people per order, while older official notices set a lower cap of seven with no more than four adults, so plan for a large party to split across two bookings.

How to Enter Tiananmen Square Without a Chinese Phone Number or WeChat

How to Enter Tiananmen Square Without a Chinese Phone Number or WeChat

This is the section most guides skip, and it is where foreign visitors actually get stuck. Booking is possible without a Chinese number, but the direct route often fails.

Why your number gets rejected

When you enter visitor details under passport in the mini-program, international numbers frequently fail validation. The usual errors are that the phone number does not match your WeChat profile, or simply that the number is invalid, and adding a country code often does not fix it. Separately, the official desktop reservation portal requires a mainland +86 mobile number, so it is not a workaround. Assume the self-service route may not work and have a fallback ready.

There is also a known quirk worth knowing about. Some travellers submit, receive no confirmation SMS, see nothing under their reservations, and then find the system blocks a second attempt for a duplicate booking. In that case the reservation has usually gone through and is tied to the passport number, so check again before assuming failure, and turn up with your passport on the day.

The hotel front desk method, which works most reliably

Ask your hotel reception to make the booking for you using their own WeChat account and your passport details. This is officially permitted: another person may book on your behalf, using the same passport data for each guest. Hotels are not obliged to provide the service, but concierge desks in Beijing do this constantly, and it takes them two minutes. Bring your passports to the front desk a day or two before you want to go.

Buy a real Chinese number

A mainland SIM card registered to your passport, linked to your WeChat account, removes the SMS barrier entirely. Note the distinction that catches people out: data-only travel eSIMs do not come with a +86 phone number, so they will not solve this problem no matter how good the data plan is. You need an actual Chinese number, which means a physical SIM bought in China with your passport.

Book a guided tour

Tours that include Tiananmen Square or the Forbidden City handle the group reservation on their side, which removes the booking problem altogether. This is the simplest paid fallback if you would rather not depend on a concierge, and it is worth comparing against the effort of the alternatives.

Use a neighbouring attraction booking

Holding a same-day booking for the Forbidden City, the National Museum of China or the Mao Zedong Mausoleum often gets you through the security checkpoints serving the square, because those routes pass through the same controlled area. Treat this as a backup rather than a plan: official guidance recommends booking the square separately, checkpoint staff follow the rules of the day, and the exemption runs one way, meaning a square booking does not replace a booking at any of those sites.

What to Prepare Before Booking Tiananmen Square

How to Book Tiananmen Square in a Minute

There is one quick route: the WeChat mini-program 天安门广场预约参观, which translates as Tiananmen Square Visit Reservation. Four official booking channels exist, but the other three suit foreign visitors less well, and the desktop portal explicitly does not accept foreign phone numbers. Whichever channel you use, you will be choosing one of four entry slots: flag raising, morning, afternoon, or flag lowering in the evening.

What to Prepare Before Booking

Gather your details first. The form does not forgive typos, and a rejected submission means starting again.

You need the passport of every guest, with the name in Latin script and the passport number copied character by character, exactly as printed. You also need WeChat installed with an active account, and a phone number able to receive a confirmation code. Set WeChat up before you fly, while you still have reliable internet and time to spare.

One order holds up to 10 people, as stated in the mini-program itself. Older official notices set a lower limit of 7 people with no more than 4 adults, so a larger party should be ready to split across two bookings. For each guest the form asks for document type, name, number, nationality, gender and age, and children are entered the same way, with their age.

  • Passport of every guest at hand
  • Name in Latin script and passport number exactly as printed
  • WeChat installed with an active account
  • A phone number that can receive the confirmation code
  • Nationality, gender and age for each guest

A great place, though the two-hour wait in line for security spoiled the experience a bit. Surprisingly, the square wasn't crowded. It's a landmark in China, like Red Square in Russia.

If you come to Beijing and don't visit Tiananmen Square, you're missing out big time! It's like the heart of Beijing, bringing together major landmarks from all four directions. It's a vast, expansive square. Getting into the square is incredibly difficult, requiring passing through many security checkpoints. But once you're inside, you'll realize just how massive it is—everything seems twice the scale! And you absolutely can't miss the entrance gate to the Forbidden City, adorned with statues of important Chinese leaders. You have to stop and take a picture there! 😘

Tiananmen Square is quite magnificent overall, but it's not a must-see. You can visit it before going to the Forbidden City. Chairman Mao can't be seen there, so you don't need to go specifically; just look at the exterior of the buildings. (Although I didn't go to the Forbidden City, if you want to go, remember to refresh the official website seven days in advance to get tickets. Don't be like me and only try to go when you arrive; you can't get tickets at all.)

Attending a village temple fair, a stage is set up in the street for traditional opera performances, while various food stalls line the area below—selling sugar figurines, fried meatballs, and dough figurines—creating a lively and bustling atmosphere that's packed with people. Buying a freshly fried rice cake, dipping it in brown sugar, and enjoying its warm, sweet, and soft texture, while squeezing into the crowd to listen to a few lines of opera—even if you don't understand the tune—feels lively and welcoming, full of the warmth and life of everyday life, and your heart feels a sense of joy and celebration.

Do You Still Need to Book Tiananmen Square in Advance?

Yes. Entry is free but the reservation is compulsory and no tickets are sold on site. Bookings open one to seven days ahead, and free slots are refreshed at noon Beijing time each day. Flag-raising slots and any date near a public holiday go quickly, so book the day the window opens rather than the day before you travel.

The booking is attached to your passport number, not to a ticket. That is why the original passport is the only thing that gets you through the checkpoint.

Late risers, and combining the square with the Forbidden City in the morning

Flag lowering

If you book a morning slot, that does not entitle you to attend the flag-raising ceremony; that is a separate slot and must be selected explicitly.

Choosing Tiananmen Square Checkpoint and Getting There

You select a checkpoint on the map when booking, and you must enter through it. The map shows several, generally on the east, west, north and south sides of the square, with the north side near Duanmen and the south side near Qianmen. Choose the one that matches how you are arriving.

By metro, the square sits between the Tiananmen East and Tiananmen West stations on Line 1, with Qianmen on Line 2 and Line 8 to the south. One caveat that catches visitors out: Tiananmen East and Tiananmen West stations sometimes close or run without stopping during state events and major holidays, so check before you set out and be ready to approach from Qianmen instead.

Two route details matter. The Tiananmen Gate runs one way: once you pass Duanmen (端门) you cannot return to the square, so visit the square first and the Gate afterwards. And the Gate has been closed at various points for maintenance, so check the official account before you plan around it.

Tiananmen Square Flag-Raising Ceremony

Tiananmen Square Flag-Raising Ceremony

The flag raising is the square's most requested slot and the one that needs the most planning. It begins around an hour before sunrise, the timing shifts through the year, and you must select the flag-raising slot explicitly plus an entry window. A morning slot does not grant access to the ceremony.

Expect to arrive well before your window to clear the security queue, and expect to stand rather than sit. Winter mornings are genuinely cold and summer mornings start in darkness. Bring fewer belongings rather than more, because the security check is the slow part and every bag slows it further.

What Happens on the Day of Your Visit to Tiananmen Square

What Happens on the Day of Your Visit to Tiananmen Square

Bring the original passport of every guest, matching the document used for the booking. Screenshots, photocopies and photographs on a phone are not accepted at the checkpoint, because staff verify the physical document against the reservation record. In practice you often do not need to show a code at all: the booking is linked to your passport number in the officer's terminal.

Entry is strict on time. You must go in your own slot, and if the details or the time do not match, you will not be admitted. Security screening is mandatory, and the prohibited list is enforced with no room for negotiation.

  • Original passport for each guest, the same document used for the booking
  • Booking confirmation saved as a backup, though the passport is what counts
  • Time buffer ahead of your slot for the security queue
  • Minimum belongings, since a smaller bag clears faster
  • If you are also visiting the Mausoleum, leave bags, cameras, tablets and liquids in the east-side storage, put your phone on silent and dress neatly

What You Cannot Bring Into the Tiananmen Square

  • Lighters and matches
  • Knives, scissors and tools
  • Drones
  • Large quantities of liquids
  • Banners, flags, posters and printed political, religious or commercial material without permission

For the neighbouring sites the list gets stricter, and the Tiananmen Gate and the Mausoleum are the strictest of all. Check the current rules at the checkpoint rather than assuming the square's list applies everywhere.

If You Cannot Get a Tiananmen Square Slot, or Your Booking Goes Missing

Three realistic situations, and what to do about each.

  • The slot you want is full. New slots are released daily at 12:00 Beijing time for dates one to seven days out, so a full day today may open tomorrow. Flag raising and holiday dates are the exceptions, and those need booking the moment the window opens.
  • Your booking does not appear. Check your reservations list again before rebooking. A duplicate-booking block usually means the first attempt succeeded, and it is the rebooking that fails, not the original reservation.
  • The square is closed. The square and the surrounding area can be restricted at short notice for state events, with no appeal and no alternative route. If the square matters to your trip, keep a spare half-day in your itinerary.

The reservation system's enquiry line is 010-65016000, open daily from 08:00 to 17:00, with answers in Chinese only.

What Visitors Say About Getting In Tiananmen Square

Reviews of the square repeat the same three points, and they are worth knowing before you go. The square itself is far larger than people expect, and most visitors say it is worth seeing once even if you are only passing through on the way to the Forbidden City. Getting in is the hard part: several checkpoints, and security queues that reviewers describe as taking anywhere from an hour to two hours. And almost everyone advises booking the Forbidden City separately and early, because tickets there sell out and cannot be bought on arrival.

Absolutely stunning hotel The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and the decor was absolutely stunning. It really does look just like the photos. Its also easy walking distance to Wangfujing shopping street, to multiple subway lines, and to the Forbidden City. Dozens of food options right across the street too, but also several in-house restaurants and room service. Our room was spotlessly clean, the air was fresh and clean, and the housekeeping cleaned up and replaced our towels and amenities daily. The gym was very well equipped with commercial gym standard equipment - it doesnt open til 7am though. The swimming pool area was also lovely though we were too busy exploring Beijing and never got a chance to swim in it! We would both, most definitely, stay with Legendale again and would thoroughly recommend to others, too. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there. We only wish we had stayed for a bit longer.

I was very satisfied with my stay this time! The hotel's location is very convenient; I didn't have to go far for transportation or dining. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was good, so I had a peaceful night's sleep. The front desk staff, especially Chance, provided warm and thoughtful service, efficiently handling check-in and check-out, and patiently answering any questions. The public areas were clean and impressive, and the facilities were well-maintained. Overall, it offered great value for money, with no disappointments. It's suitable for both short trips and business stays. I've already recommended it to my friends and will definitely choose Sofitel Beijing Central (Accor) again next time I'm in the area. It's truly worth staying!

Considering its location, service, management, dining, facilities, and price, this is a very reliable hotel. It's free from excessive fanfare and superficial gimmicks. Communication, from the front desk staff to the lobby manager and even management, is smooth and efficient, with a low communication cost. The room decor and facilities aren't new, but they are perfectly adequate for business travelers and families. The hotel is equipped with an indoor pool and gym, which is very friendly for those who like to exercise while traveling. The breakfast selection and taste are very practical, and overall, my experience was great. I hope the hotel continues to uphold its commitment to brand and quality.

This hotel offers pretty good value for money, with an excellent location and affordable prices. While the facilities are a bit old, they are well-maintained. However, the customer service and the female front desk staff were quite subpar. They were unwilling to offer room upgrades or late check-outs, which was disappointing. I hope they improve, as it would be a shame to waste such a great location and the efforts of most of the other staff members.

Opting for the New Otani Chang Fu Gong for my Beijing trip was a great choice; the overall stay was consistently excellent and thoughtful, truly reflecting the quality of a seasoned high-end hotel. The service was warm and meticulous. Every day, they'd leave Beijing specialty snacks in the room – classic local pastries and treats. Coming back after a day of sightseeing to these delightful surprises was incredibly heartwarming. The breakfast was of a high standard, with a rich variety of choices, and a distinct Japanese flair. The tender omelets, crispy capelin, and exquisite Japanese pastries were all authentically prepared. At the same time, Chinese and Western hot dishes, breads, congees, cold cuts, and braised meats were all available, catering to different tastes. The view from the breakfast restaurant was a particular highlight. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, you could see a serene courtyard: a neatly trimmed lawn, a rock garden pond, and even white geese leisurely strolling about. The garden scenery was elegant and comfortable. Enjoying breakfast while taking in the view really helped me slow down and relax. The guest room was clean and spacious, with a well-organized layout and good natural light, making for a relaxed and unconfined stay. The overall service was on point, and the breakfast was outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel for accommodation in Beijing.

Today I'm on duty at work. It's scorching hot and there's no air conditioning in the office. It's really unbearable. I emergency chose this Xinqiao Hotel. Facilities: I chose a windowless non-smoking room. The size is decent, and the facilities are quite complete. This hotel has several Chinese and Western restaurants, so dining is quite convenient. Hygiene: The hotel's hygiene is good; it's relatively clean. I specifically chose a non-smoking room. Because it's windowless, the room is equipped with an air purifier. Environment: It's very close to my workplace, only about two or three hundred meters away. The environment is good. Service: The check-in service at this hotel was relatively quick. Room cleaning was also quite prompt, and check-out was fast. The breakfast service was also pretty good, I guess?

The housekeeping lady on 8th floor was kind and always made sure to top up water and throw rubbish as I didn’t need my room cleaned everyday. The location was excellent and short walk and there’s a nice halal Lanzhou Beef noddle shop across the road and a fruit seller either outside the hotel or across the road in front of 7-11. 🌟 Heartfelt hospitality in the heart of Beijing! Special thanks to Mike Wong and Hanson Wang for an unforgettable stay! Our stay at Peace Hotel Beijing (Forbidden City) left us with the warmest and most unforgettable impressions. The hotel is incredibly well-located right in the center of Beijing, within walking distance of the main attractions, making our sightseeing trips exceptionally convenient and easy.A special highlight was the lounge on the 19th floor where the club dinners are held. Dining with a glass of wine while enjoying the breathtaking, majestic view of the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park is an unparalleled pleasure! The atmosphere there is truly magical. However, the most valuable and outstanding feature of this hotel is how they treat their guests. We experienced not just a high standard of service, but genuine love, warmth, and true, deep hospitality that is so rare to find these days.We arrived at the hotel very early — at 8:00 AM, exhausted from our journey, and were mentally prepared to wait hours for check-in. To our amazement, we were not only greeted with a smile, but were given a room immediately, saving us from tedious waiting!I would like to express my deepest and most sincere gratitude to Mike Wong and Hanson Wang. They took incredible care of our family. Mike personally showed us two excellent rooms to choose from, helping us patiently and politely. The room we fell in love with on the 17th floor was instantly handed over to us.It is because of such dedicated, caring, and professional employees like Mike Wong and Hanson Wang that the brand builds its flawless positive image, making guests want to return over and over again. I highly recommend that the hotel management recognizes both Mike's and Hanson's outstanding dedication and awards them a well-deserved bonus or promotion. It’s a very good hotel located in ideal location . It’s very near to forbidden city which is just few streets away. Many restaurants located nearby, like Si Ji Min Fu Peking Duck. You could get help from the hotel to get the queue number and waiting at the hotel room before your turn. It’s really save a lot of time. The daily breakfast was good , just that the serving plates or cups were found cracked or chipped , the hotel still use that for serving customers during breakfast .We were given free drink voucher and you gotta to get the voucher from the service counter daily. Free laundry and free robot delivery service . As there’s only one robot for food delivery to room, and during peak hour , you might need to go down to collect the food at the hotel counter yourself . And the room cleaning service is awesome and they helped us to clean the baggage and left us a message in sticky note when the job’s done. Kudos to the dedicated room cleaner. Many local Beijing snacks and cold drinks are served at the hotel lobby and they are free. When we’re checked out , we’re given a small free goodie bag to bring back home.

The apex of Beijing, where the true heart of luxury beats! — A perfect stay at Kerry Hotel Beijing from July 25th-26th If Beijing is a flowing feast, then the Guomao CBD is its most dazzling stage, and Kerry Hotel Beijing sits right in the center of it. During this stay, I truly experienced what it means to “be amidst the bustle, yet privately enjoy luxury.” Arriving on the afternoon of the 25th, from the moment I stepped into the lobby, that grand sense of tranquility isolated me from the noise outside the window. The room was super spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling window offered an unparalleled city skyline view, with the CCTV Headquarters (the 'big trousers') and China Zun tower side-by-side. That feeling of having the imperial capital at your feet instantly made the room rate worthwhile! I must particularly praise the Kerry Club Lounge on the 18th floor! It was truly the highlight of my entire stay! The service from Ms. Lucy, Clara, and Seanna was simply delightful, making me feel incredibly welcome. The lounge's food, whether afternoon tea or evening happy hour, offered such a vast variety that it was hard to choose. The breakfast at 'Jia Pin Restaurant' on the morning of the 26th absolutely won me over—there were 7 ways to prepare eggs alone, plus fresh grapefruit. These kinds of details are truly a huge plus! Although I know this hotel is a representative of the 'old money' opened in 1999, the facilities are incredibly well-maintained. That sense of profound grandeur, refined by the passage of time, is a quality new hotels simply cannot replicate. The gym and heated swimming pool are top-tier for hotels in China, with huge spaces and comprehensive equipment. Even just a swim feels like a luxury. My two-day journey in the heart of luxury left me wanting more. Not only is the location unbeatable, but the service and dining are also exceptional! This is definitely the most 'aristocratic' hotel I've stayed at in Beijing, second to none! ♥️

The hotel is located directly opposite Beijing West Railway Station South Square, with metro and bus access nearby, making its location excellent. The staff were warm and attentive, even upgrading my room. The room facilities were complete, quiet, comfortable, and offered a great view. The breakfast was rich and delicious. Overall, I'm very satisfied and it's definitely worth staying here!

The hotel room was well-equipped, and the service was excellent. Free parking was convenient. After I reported someone smoking, they promptly moved me to an upgraded room. The guest relations manager even sent some fruit, which was very professional and swift service. Five-star rating! The location is great, and the views from outside are also beautiful. This is my go-to hotel every time I visit Beijing.

Changping Town/Shisanling Resort Beijing|40.96km from city center
1. **Check-in:** The check-in process was inefficient. They strictly enforce the 2 PM check-in time, and there was a very long line with only two front desk staff members. It got even slower when foreign guests were checking in. It wasn't even that crowded during the National Day holiday. 2. **Room:** The room was very spacious. We booked a mountain-view room, and since we had kids, we had to push the beds together. Due to the bed design, there was a huge gap at the headboard, so next time we'll have to request bed guards. The glass was quite old, and the buttons in the room weren't very responsive. With two children, we were missing children's toiletries, slippers, and bathrobes, which had to be sent up separately. Shower gel and other amenities were only available in specific kids' rooms. It would be better if they provided slippers for the hot spring area next time; the disposable ones were quite slippery. 3. **Hotel Activities:** During the National Day holiday, there were activities every morning and afternoon, which the kids really enjoyed. Some required an extra charge. I'd recommend registering for the activities when you actually participate to get the discount (I used up my registration slot early by using the link over Wi-Fi the day before, which used up my mobile data). 4. **Water Park:** The room indicated complimentary tickets for two adults and one child. 'Child' means under 120cm, which is already free, so the hotel giving another 'complimentary' ticket felt a bit redundant. There are three pools in total. The largest one had a suitable water temperature, but the two smaller pools were cold. There were children running and playing wildly on the slides, and I suggest staff supervise and remind them to be careful. There are many outdoor hot springs, but one bubble pool was super cold, and the bubbles were covered in dirty mud, with no one cleaning it. There was also a lack of information about the outdoor hot springs; you had to walk to each one to find out the temperature and what kind of spring it was. There was no conditioner in the showers, so I recommend bringing your own. 5. **Kids' Club:** It was quite small, and the provided socks weren't non-slip. The kids played for a bit and then got bored. 6. **Hotel Breakfast:** The wontons were nowhere to be found... but all the bread was delicious! A hot bowl of noodles chased away the autumn chill. The corn porridge was mislabeled as millet porridge. Overall, there wasn't a huge variety of dishes, for example, only two types of cold dishes and two types of fruit. 7. **Service:** Feedback was addressed and handled promptly. The service was super satisfying!

Badaling Great Wall/Badaling Wildlife Park Beijing|56.95km from city center
The hotel boasts an elegant environment, making you feel like you have an entire mountain to yourself. Built into the hillside, the two-bedroom suite we booked this time was located mid-mountain. The hotel community has complete facilities, and the main entrance is fenced off with a gate, so the security is reassuring and makes you feel very safe. The shuttle service uses Voyah commercial vans, which are super comfortable! The staff helped with our luggage, which was very thoughtful and attentive. It's about 10 kilometers from Badaling Great Wall, and Shuiguan Great Wall is nearby and not crowded. Juyongguan Great Wall is also conveniently located on the way to Beijing South Station, so we stopped by, making our trip even more rich and fulfilling.

Pros: 1. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, offering fresh air and truly beautiful surroundings. It's a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and the hotel's decor and maintenance are quite good. Our butler, Bella, was incredibly meticulous and thoughtful, taking care of every little detail. She met all our needs, making our stay exceptionally comfortable. 2. There's a wide array of facilities and activities, including a mountainside hot spring, indoor pool, Hatha yoga, singing bowl therapy, a gym, and a kids' club. It's perfect for families, and the kids' club is large and newly renovated – it just reopened in May. It's definitely more fun than the kids' clubs at other hotels I've visited. Plus, children aged 4 and up can be supervised for free, which made my little one super happy! 3. The room key card came with a park map, showing hiking trails. There's an easy 5-kilometer mountain boardwalk, perfect for families, where you can visit the Eight Planets viewing platforms. 4. The breakfast was impressive! They had steaks, lamb chops, and a rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. However, the cured meats were generally a bit too salty. Cons: 1. For a 5-star hotel, there was no safe in the room. 2. While there's an abundance of kids' activities, most of them come with a fee. 3. Since the kids' club was newly renovated, the smell was quite strong, making my eyes and throat uncomfortable. Overall, we were still very satisfied. I imagine it would be even more atmospheric to visit in winter for the hot springs, though I expect it would be extremely crowded.

The room is very spacious, and the bathroom area is quite large, perfect for a family. There's plenty of room for dining and playing together. The height of the chairs and tables is a bit mismatched; you sink in quite a bit when you sit down. The bunk beds were a hit with the kids. Plus, there's a private indoor hot spring in the room, which is free and quite nice. The hotel breakfast is pretty average, with the variety and taste on par with a 3-star hotel in the city center. The hot spring is connected to the hotel, and you can re-enter until noon the next day by registering your room number. However, you do need to exchange your entry wristband.

This hotel is perfect for a family staycation! We chose a twin room and had them combine the beds, and we pre-booked bed rails. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, making it ideal for families with children. The best part is that it's pet-friendly too! The hotel package also included access to iQIYI Kids' Playground and a hot spring. The kids' playground offered unlimited entry on the day of validation, while the hot spring was a one-time entry. There's an indoor water slide, which is great for older children. It was quite busy during the holiday, and the breakfast queue started forming before 9 AM.

I chose this star-rated hotel for my business trip, and it absolutely delivered on luxury—the experience was fantastic. The location deserves a special mention; it's incredibly convenient for getting around. You can walk to Metro Line 1 and Line 5, making travel effortless. Just 50 meters left from the hotel entrance is a mall with so many shopping and dining options, it's hard to choose—all your retail and food cravings are easily satisfied. The room was an even bigger surprise. It was incredibly spacious, bright, and well-lit. The floor-to-ceiling window offered an amazing view; lying in bed and enjoying the scenery was pure bliss. The amenities were comprehensive, and the pillows and mattress were perfectly comfortable. I slept like a log, straight until morning—it was incredibly refreshing. The breakfast was also noteworthy, with a wide variety of both Chinese and Western options. I was very satisfied every morning. I had such a pleasant stay these past few days that I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

For our Mid-Autumn Festival staycation with our 7-month-old baby, we chose the jungle-themed family room at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center. Before check-in, our butler, Ms. Silvia, contacted us in advance to arrange a bed rail and connecting beds, and also pre-booked afternoon tea for us. The room was full of childlike charm, and our baby was incredibly curious and captivated by everything. The hotel's lawn was also perfect for playing. The room was clean and hygienic, with a great view, directly overlooking the Liangma River. The staff were enthusiastic, interacting warmly with our baby, and even left small mooncakes during turn-down service. The breakfast, delicatessen, and Paulaner Bräuhaus all offered good quality food. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay! The only issue was that there's no direct elevator from the underground parking to the lobby, which was inconvenient when handling luggage.

The NUO Hotel boasts a 'modern Ming Dynasty' design style, exuding an oriental charm. Art pieces are thoughtfully integrated throughout the lobby and public areas, creating a beautiful 'step-by-step' scenic experience. The lobby is spacious and elegant, instantly providing a sense of calm and relaxation upon entering. The room was comfortable with meticulous attention to detail; the sunlight filtering through the sheer curtains cast beautiful patterns. The 25-meter long swimming pool had excellent water quality and was very quiet. For lunch, we dined at the Yuan Tea House buffet, where the dishes were exquisite. The hotel is located on Jiangtai Road, near Lido Place and to the south of Lido Park, offering a beautiful environment. The front desk staff were warm and accommodating, providing a room upgrade, which made for a very pleasant stay.

Staying at the Grand Hyatt Beijing at Oriental Plaza during the National Day holiday was a fantastic experience overall. The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Wangfujing Street and close to a subway station, making it incredibly convenient for visiting Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Check-in at the front desk was efficient and seamless. When we requested a late check-out, a staff member named Amy responded quickly and arranged it perfectly, showing that the hotel highly values its guests' experience. The room was clean and tidy with good lighting, and the bedding was comfortable, ensuring a high-quality rest. The staff were friendly and patiently answered all our questions. Even with a large number of guests during the holiday, the service remained consistently excellent and attentive. Overall, it offers good value for money, and I would definitely book this hotel again on my next trip to Beijing.

The Four Seasons Hotel Beijing is the most convenient hotel for US visa interviews, just a 7-8 minute walk away, and only 4 minutes from Liangmaqiao subway station. You can even enjoy views of the Liangma River from your room. I had some ice cream at the lobby bar on the first floor, and it was absolutely delicious! I also tried the T-bone steak at the Italian restaurant MIO; its design and comfort still hold up today. I had a spa treatment on the 6th floor, though the spa rooms definitely need a renovation! I particularly want to highlight the hotel's excellent service. A very enthusiastic girl at the front desk (who shares an English name with Eason Chan) was particularly helpful. The room was clean and tidy, and the turndown service was very well done. However, the room facilities are quite dated, especially the toilet. If they can't replace the toilet, at least a small shelf for phones would be helpful. Also, the bottled water in the room comes in cans, which might look high-class, but it's very inconvenient for women with long nails – I had to use a spoon to open it every time!

Extremely satisfied with my stay. Customer service was prompt and efficient in resolving issues. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of high-quality options. The hotel's location is superb, and the bar's drinks and food are excellent; the beer and live band were also top-notch. I booked an Executive King Room, and the hotel upgraded me to a suite, which I then upgraded myself to their signature panoramic view room. The view was excellent, offering a 270-degree view from three sides, directly facing the bustling Sanlitun Taikoo Li commercial district. This is one of Beijing's most vibrant areas, with many events, such as the outdoor fashion week happening right downstairs during my stay. The hotel's location is superb, surrounded by malls, bars, and restaurants. There's a constant flow of people and traffic throughout the day and well into the night. The InterContinental Club on the 22nd floor offered morning tea and afternoon tea with fewer crowds and excellent service – even more welcoming and attentive than other hotels. The gym and swimming pool were both good and not crowded at all. The emotional value of standing by the window in the panoramic view room and enjoying the scenery was truly immense. The downside, however, is the price; I wouldn't have been able to afford it if the hotel hadn't given me a discount. Also, the electric curtains on the front and both side panoramic windows are linked, meaning that most of the time, to block out the view of the neighboring guest room from one side, the other panoramic curtain also has to be closed, which is quite frustrating. It would be better if they were manual curtains instead.

I brought my parents and child to Beijing for the Mid-Autumn Festival. My mom wanted to visit the Temple of Heaven, my dad wanted to eat Chen Ji braised offal, and my child wanted to see the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It was a busy schedule! The hotel's location is excellent. There's a side entrance less than 20 meters from Dengshikou Subway Station. Dongdan, Wangfujing, and Longfu Temple are all within walking distance. You can city walk and experience the hutongs or go shopping. Famous restaurants like Dongdan Nanmen Shuanrou, Kaorou Liu, and Bianyifang are all conveniently nearby. As an old five-star hotel, the service is top-notch – attentive but not intrusive, very comfortable and proper. The breakfast has a good variety of freshly made items; the scrambled eggs, beef noodles, and waffles were all delicious. The front desk and concierge staff were all very professional and proactive, quick to respond. They truly deserve praise. The pool design is also very thoughtful, with a small hot spring pool. In the morning, when the sun shines on it, it's absolutely beautiful. The steps and stone materials around the pool blend seamlessly with the environment. The family room was originally a corner room with a portable bed added. The portable bed was a bit short and the mattress was soft. Because the hotel is older, the outlets have been retrofitted. You can also see the effort put into maintenance from the cleanliness and attention to detail. However, the facilities are indeed old; the bathroom door was hard to slide open and close, and the cabinet doors were also worn. It's precisely because of its age that we were able to stay at a hotel with this location and service for this price. Very satisfied.

Booked the smallest room for 50€. Location was fine and the AC worked. Toilet flushed well, which is rare. I think the price was high because of the national holiday but still doesn’t explain why the room was full of dust. Also the room smelled like cigarette but turning the AC on it goes away.
