Cuihu District Kunming|1.57km from city center
I really love Cuihu Lake, so I always try to stay near it when I'm in town. Last month, I stayed at the Grand Park Hotel, but the room felt too small and the breakfast was just okay, so this time I decided to try the Grand Hyatt. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would choose to stay here again on my next visit. Here's why: First, the breakfast was delicious and perfectly suited my taste. The rice noodle and Ersi (a local noodle dish) station was extensive, with a wide variety of condiments, and the flavor was just as good as what you'd find at a dedicated rice noodle shop. They also offered fruit and vegetable juices like kale juice, a great selection of toppings for vegetable salads, tasty homemade yogurt, freshly made French toast, and a high-quality assortment of breads and pastries. The American coffee was decent, and the milk was rich. Overall, I really appreciate this kind of refined breakfast – not an overwhelming number of options that lack appeal, nor a crowded and noisy environment. Second, the service was excellent. Any issues were resolved promptly, and the staff were very friendly. Third, the location is fantastic; you can visit Cuihu Lake whenever you like. Regarding the online comments about the rooms not being new, I think this hotel offers great value for money. Plus, fully smart rooms aren't always more convenient; there's a certain charm to a slightly older place.

Railway Station Area Kunming|1.72km from city center
Hardware and Environment The hotel's public areas and guest room hardware meet five-star standards. The 29th-floor sun-facing room I stayed in this time features non-carpeted flooring. Under the intense sunlight conditions of Kunming, this material choice offers significant advantages: no risk of old fabric odors accumulating and effective prevention of dust sensitivity issues caused by sun exposure. This is particularly friendly for guests with respiratory sensitivities and multi-generational families. In contrast, while the hotel's carpeted rooms of the same grade and sun-facing orientation are well-maintained, it's still difficult to completely avoid the physical and chemical reactions that fibrous materials undergo under continuous sunlight. Service Response and Incident Handling Early in my stay, a sudden issue related to room cleaning and maintenance occurred. The housekeeping team arrived on site within 3 minutes, initiating an emergency response plan. The duty manager simultaneously offered two equivalent alternative rooms for on-site evaluation. A comparison revealed that the sun-facing carpeted room had an inherent material odor, while my original room, due to its non-carpeted material and high-floor ventilation advantages, demonstrated greater stability in terms of aerodynamic performance. Throughout this process, the hotel exhibited a standard emergency protocol, objective room status disclosure, and respect for the customer's decision-making, not allowing the execution of the plan to override practical living considerations. Dining and Wellness Observations The executive lounge maintained a consistent standard of offerings, with good localization (e.g., classic fresh flower cakes). The 24-hour gym had staff on duty at night, and equipment was well-maintained, though some resistance adjustments on certain machines suffered from a common industry-wide delay. I did not use the pool facilities. Specific Review on Environmental Friendliness Material Advantage: Non-carpeted flooring avoids sun-induced volatile organic compounds and secondary dust suspension. Climate Adaptability: High-floor, sun-facing rooms demonstrate anti-aging advantages in low-humidity, high-sunlight regions. Optimization Suggestions: Consider establishing a pre-allocation mechanism for “hypoallergenic material floors” specifically for sensitive guests. Management Suggestions 1. Increase the frequency of seasonal deep cleaning for sun-facing carpeted rooms. 2. Mark flooring material attributes in the room status system for booking reference. 3. Consider providing aerodynamic performance reports as standard in family rooms. 4. Ensure thorough dust and odor removal in sun-facing carpeted rooms before check-in confirmation. 5. Breakfast options are slightly monotonous compared to five-star standards and the hotel's category. Suggest expanding to 35+ items, though fewer options are understandable during off-peak seasons with fewer guests. Overall Rating: The hotel demonstrated a mature emergency response matrix and transparent information handling capabilities when dealing with unexpected situations. More importantly, its room material configuration rationally adapts to the regional climate conditions. In a high-humidity, high-sunlight environment, the non-carpeted rooms showed distinct environmental stability advantages. I recommend the hotel strengthen the promotion of this differentiated highlight, especially targeting families and business travelers sensitive to materials.

This hotel is great in every aspect. The environment and facilities are well-maintained, and the staff are enthusiastic, proactive, and genuinely care about guests' overall feelings and stay experience. Plus, with the recent holidays, there are plenty of activities to enjoy and watch around the hotel. It's also conveniently located near the old town and a bustling commercial area, offering both great accessibility and value for money.

I stayed at Cachet Boutique Hotel Kunming on 25–26 October and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located a little away from the main pedestrian street, but the area around it has plenty of lively bars and cafés that attract a younger crowd — great if you enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. The hotel itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed. I was really impressed by the stylish decor, quality amenities, and the spacious room layout. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Checking in/out was fast and hassle free. As an additional benefit, the hotel is located 10 minutes from the train station. Overall, it’s excellent value for money — I’d definitely recommend Cachet Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Kunming who’s looking for comfort, style, and a touch of local charm.

The hotel's location is super convenient, close to shopping and dining. The room was clean and had no strange smells, but the best part was the incredibly thoughtful service. The staff at the front desk, both the guys and girls, were not only good-looking but also spoke so kindly. My experience was a perfect ten, highly recommend it! 👍🏻👍🏻 Next time I'm in Kunming, I'll definitely stay here again. >ᴗoಣ

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and I was genuinely impressed! The front desk staff were super friendly, helping me carry my luggage and showing me to my room. The room was very clean, offered good privacy, and even had a large locker for my suitcase. The bedding was spotless, and there's a huge washroom area, so it never felt crowded. It was quite cold in Kunming when I visited, but there was no need to worry about hot water; it's available 24/7! I highly recommend Hump Hostel.

Cuihu District Kunming|1.6km from city center
Tonight, I made a last-minute check-in at the 'Cuihu Hotel', designed by I.M. Pei. It was unplanned, but a delightful surprise. In my opinion, a hotel isn't a museum; its 'sense of history' should be elegant, not heavy, and its 'vintage feel' should be classic, not dated. Before arriving, I was very worried this 69-year-old hotel would feel stuffy and decayed. To my surprise, Cuihu Hotel strikes the perfect balance and shows great wisdom. For example, the public area ceilings are adorned with 24K gold leaf, and the murals feature maple wood relief carvings with gold accents – aesthetics that are certainly a product of their time [tears of joy emoji]. However, they've now added many art pieces to temper this 'bling' and enhance the elegance and scholarly vibe. Even the subtle classical jazz music and the light, delicate fragrance filling the air inject a fresh, youthful spirit into the overall ambiance. Yet, the common issues of older hotels persist: outdated facilities, bathtub design, and those unsightly large pillars… This leaves me feeling conflicted, both loving and hating it, and hesitant about whether I'd stay here again (especially with kids). What truly stood out was the check-in experience: the front desk gifted us fresh roses, a succulent potted plant, and a postcard as souvenirs. In the room, there was a handwritten card, red-billed gull biscuits, Yunnan small-bean coffee powder with a Moka pot. They even pre-arranged a bedtime dessert and a crib bumper. For welcome fruits, the housekeeping auntie knocked on our door with a basket, letting us choose our own! 😄 These interactions significantly elevated the stay, even adding a wonderful touch to my overall impression of this Yunnan trip. In summary, it has history but struggles with modernity; thankfully, the details, service, and quality are all excellent 👍. P.S. The room upgrade was successful, and my 'begging' for it went very smoothly.

The location isn't great, right between the airport and the city center. There's nothing else nearby except the Flower City, which feels like it was built specifically for tourists, with only non-locals hanging out. The hotel service was quite good. Cleanliness was average, but there were some nice touches, like the disposable plastic-sealed cups. The hotel has several buildings, one of which is specifically used by tour groups. We booked the room ourselves, and when we asked the front desk, they told us it wasn't in this area, but in another. We walked another 500 meters to get to the adjacent area. The family room was okay, with a tent that the kids loved, and a teddy bear to take away.

Dianchi Lake Scenic Area/ Sunac World Kunming|8.2km from city center
The room itself was old and mediocre. The TV's color was so faded it was unwatchable – like something out of the 90s. The service staff (restaurant, housekeeping) were generally older, and they were very un proactive about replacing and replenishing amenities. It felt more like a three-star hotel's performance. The front desk staff's professionalism was decent overall, and the luggage service was基本active and attentive. For dining, the breakfast was quite ordinary, comparable to what you'd find in a domestic budget hotel. The public hot spring facilities were generally acceptable. Since it was included in the room rate, and they only opened a few of the pools, like 2 or 3 out of 8, it felt a bit like a rip-off. This really doesn't align with what you'd expect from a brand under a 5-star hotel group.

The in-room amenities were surprisingly excellent. I had expected a hotel over a decade old to be quite run-down, but it was incredibly well-maintained. I originally booked this hotel for its convenient location for watching seagulls, but I was genuinely surprised by how fantastic the room facilities were. It was clean, elegant, and high-end – nothing like a hotel that's over ten years old. I had a very comfortable stay; the room was quite spacious, and it even had a balcony with views of greenery and the sunrise. The hotel's dining was also superb. I tried the breakfast buffet, which was very rich and offered a wide variety of options, with both Chinese and Western dishes done exceptionally well. The hotel package I purchased also included an afternoon tea, which was equally lavish, excellent, and beautifully presented. I'd like to thank my butler and the lady at the front desk. Even though she was busy checking in six foreigners at the time, she professionally and thoroughly explained all the check-in procedures, as well as details about the restaurant and afternoon tea. Since there was no bellhop available then, she personally escorted us to the lobby to find one and then accompanied us to our room. The hotel is indeed very large, with a total of seven buildings, making it easy to get lost. Fortunately, the service here is truly top-notch. The bellhops and golf cart drivers were all very professional. They took excellent care of us during both check-in and check-out.

Cuihu District Kunming|2.06km from city center
I chose this hotel for a business trip and booked a lakeside king room. The hotel definitely has its advantages; the location is excellent. You just cross a small road, and you're at Cuihu Lake, which is fantastic. I read some reviews where everyone mentioned the rooms were small, so I specifically booked a slightly more expensive room type. However, when I got in, it still felt small. The bed is by the window, so you can only get in from one side. The window isn't big, and honestly, whether it's lakeside or not doesn't really matter; there's no real need to enjoy the lake from inside the room. The downside of the room is that it can get noisy due to various unexpected situations. I stayed two nights; one night, it was noisy downstairs. The ground floor seems to have courtyard rooms, and guests were chatting loudly in the courtyard in the middle of the night. An hour before that, I was bothered by parents and kids making noise downstairs – it sounded like the child had a very loud toy scratching the ground below, which was a bit overwhelming. On the other night, it was late, and there were young men and women shouting loudly on the street, plus car horns and so on. These might not be frequent occurrences, but they certainly weren't pleasant. As for breakfast, it was decent, with pea jelly and rice noodles being the specialties.

Nanping Pedestrian Street Kunming|0.72km from city center
My main purpose for visiting Kunming this time was to escape the summer heat, relax, and explore the local food scene, so I chose a hotel right next to Kunming Old Street. It's an established five-star hotel, showing its age a bit, but that also gives it a reassuring sense of reliability. The rooms are standard, nothing fancy, but the blue skies and white clouds outside the window were beautiful every day. The complimentary welcome fruits and snacks were plentiful and even included lollipops, which made me feel like the hotel puts a special emphasis on families with children. There's a kids' play area on the floor, and the buffet restaurant even has a dedicated children's dining section. The breakfast was the biggest highlight – rich, delicious, and featuring many Yunnan specialty dishes. Just be sure to avoid peak times. The hotel's location is unbeatable. Nanping Walking Street, Nanqiang Street, and Jinma Biji Archway are all within walking distance, and ride-sharing services are readily available, with pickups almost instantaneous.

Chenggong New District/South High-Speed Railway Station Kunming|24.15km from city center
To be honest, it was not a good accommodation experience. The price of the hotel is not proportional to the facilities and services provided. I called the front desk before checking in to find out the route to the hotel. The telephone line at the front desk was loose and I couldn't even hear what I said (you can listen to the recording). When I checked in, I asked the front desk to call a taxi for the next morning, and the answer was that I could call a taxi by myself. After I moved into the room, I wanted to put the food in the small refrigerator in the room, but the refrigerator didn't work. I asked the maintenance worker to check and found that there was no socket behind the refrigerator. The refrigerator was just a decoration. I had to put the refrigerator in the bathroom and plug it in (it was too noisy in the room). The socket at the head of the bed was very loose after a long time. The plug often fell off when it was inserted. I booked a room with hot spring service, but it didn't specify that I had to bring my own swimming trunks. I needed to spend another 50 yuan to buy swimming trunks on site. In short, the service and facilities of your hotel need to be improved. In addition, a glass on the washstand was broken due to moving the refrigerator. I explained the situation to the front desk the next morning, and the front desk waiter was very reasonable and exempted from compensation. Thank you for this.

A perfect vacation experience! I was amazed by the castle-like exterior upon check-in, and the lobby was luxurious yet welcoming. The room was spacious and clean, with bedding so soft I fell asleep instantly. The floor-to-ceiling windows also offered a panoramic view of Kunming. The breakfast selection was incredibly rich, ranging from authentic Yunnanese 'Xiaoguo Mixian' to Western pastries. The staff provided excellent and thoughtful service, proactively helping with luggage and recommending local attractions. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming! And a special shoutout to Ray at the front desk, his service was exceptional; I'll be sure to book with him next time too.

The hotel is excellent, and the service is incredibly warm and welcoming. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a high-end yet minimalist style, making them very comfortable. The bedding quality is superb, just like at home – soft and gentle on the skin. Every day, the lovely ladies at the front desk would bring us a fruit platter with oranges, apples, pears, and even pepino melons. The surrounding area is also beautiful; Daguang Park is right across the street from the hotel, teeming with seagulls. Within a 3km radius, there's Nanya Fengqing No.1 City, a large shopping mall, making dining and shopping very convenient.

Railway Station Area Kunming|1.75km from city center
The location is convenient, close to Kunming Station and bus stops. I appreciate Mr. Fu at the front desk for the complimentary room upgrade to the Executive Floor; the room was lovely, and the view was great. However, the complimentary white fungus soup offered at 9:30 PM was already cold and tasted even worse than water. The breakfast was a letdown. It's served in the revolving restaurant on the 21st floor, supposedly until 11 AM. When I went at 9:15 AM, some food items were not being refilled, and most of the food, including the boiled eggs, was cold. It was quite unappetizing. The restaurant staff were all equally indifferent. The omelet prepared by the chef (pictured in image 3) was unexpectedly poor. Fortunately, I encountered server Jiang Deqiao. She was kind, polite, and always smiling. Besides her floor duties, she also helped prepare rice noodles and omelets (pictured in image 4). After I finished eating, she even checked in to see if I was satisfied with the food. I hope the hotel recognizes and values this sincere and hardworking employee, Ms. Jiang. Overall, the hotel has four-star facilities.

This is my third time staying at this hotel. It's incredibly close to the airport, with a shuttle service that gets you there in just 3 minutes. The rooms are spacious and very clean, well-equipped, and the service is excellent. It's truly the best choice for a layover. Plus, the price now is much cheaper than it was 10 years ago, offering fantastic value for money.

Facilities: Complete facilities, good bathtub Hygiene: Very clean Environment: Like living in a forest, you can see the roller coaster of Happy World from the balcony, very quiet at night, slept well Service: The front desk upgraded the garden view room for free, checked out on time and swam. The waiter in the breakfast restaurant was also very enthusiastic, actively helped to confirm the seat and collected the empty plates. The rice noodles for breakfast were also delicious, with rich condiments, which was delicious even for Yunnan people

An unexpected delightful surprise on my Kunming trip! Hotel Latuso is a haven for those who appreciate details, and the stay was incredibly comfortable! The best decision I made on this trip to Kunming was choosing Hotel Latuso! From the moment I stepped in, I could feel the omnipresent thoughtfulness and high quality. 1. **Full of Details, Unique Design** The room's design style is very special, combining modern comfort with a unique artistic flair – definitely not a cookie-cutter hotel style. What impressed me most was the extreme attention to detail: the amenities were neatly arranged and stylish, the lighting design was just right, and every small decorative item showed careful selection and taste. As soon as I entered the room, I felt completely relaxed. 2. **Surprise Afternoon Tea, VIP Experience** Upon check-in, I learned about the complimentary afternoon tea at the hotel's café – what a thoughtful touch! I enjoyed a leisurely afternoon there; the desserts and drinks were both excellent. This wasn't just a freebie; it truly elevated the overall sense of well-being during my stay. 3. **Thoughtful Service, A Home Away From Home** The hotel's service deserves full marks! Every staff member was incredibly warm and professional, quick to respond, and provided attentive service without being intrusive. They truly made me feel right at home. 4. **Comfortable Living, Mind and Body Relaxed** The bedding was extremely comfortable, ensuring a high-quality sleep. The room's soundproofing was also good, allowing for a quiet resting environment even in the city center. This is a hidden gem of a hotel with warmth, design, and exceptional service. Whether for couples, girlfriends traveling together, or business trips, I highly recommend Latuso! Next time I'm in Kunming, I will definitely choose this place again.

The hotel is in a good location, very close to Kunming Botanical Garden and next to Yunnan Agricultural University. The environment of the Agricultural University is not inferior to that of the Botanical Garden, with green trees and a good place for walking. Although the hotel is a certain age, it is well maintained and does not feel old at all. It is clean and tidy. The flower arrangements and landscape shapes everywhere are very artistic. The service is also very good. Every employee I met greeted me with a smile. I especially want to praise the housekeeper Xiao Yang. The thoughtful service left us a good impression. He arranged fruit yogurt on time every day and kept asking us if we needed anything. After a day, we seemed to have become old friends. We couldn't help but greet each other enthusiastically when we met, because I felt that Xiao Yang wanted to provide us with better service from the bottom of his heart. This sincerity is something I have never felt in other hotels. In addition, the hotel restaurant is really delicious and highly recommended. For this reason, we stayed for another day.

Incredible breakfast with dozens of things to choose from in a beautiful dining room with large glass windows overlooking a garden. Staff were very eager to help, though only the concierge spoke good English. The room was very large with a good bed and large bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. As with other hotels we visited in China, we occasionally smelled some cigarette/cigar smoke in the (non-smoking) room or in the hallway outside the room.

#The hotel makes people feel like home #Soundproofed and sleeps very well The room is full of surprises, spacious and bright and spotless, the bedding is soft like a cloud, and I don’t want to get up when I lie down. The most unexpected thing is the sound insulation effect. Outside the window is a lively business district, but the interior is particularly quiet. I sleep until I wake up naturally. The bathroom is well separated from wet and dry, the water pressure is sufficient, the hot water comes quickly, the texture of the toiletries is far beyond expectations, and the details are full. The hotel is in a great location, a few minutes walk to the subway station, surrounded by convenience stores, restaurants, and it is particularly convenient to travel for food. The breakfast is rich in variety, complete in Chinese and Western styles, and the chef can also make fried eggs and coffee on site. The taste is superb. I also received a gift when I checked out. This intimate is too poking. Whether it is service, environment or facilities, it is impeccable and cost-effective. Next time I come to live here, I have already recommended it to friends who want to travel around!

My family went on a trip, and my colleagues recommended this hotel. It is really worth staying in! The hotel is located in the business district, so you don't have to worry about eating, drinking, and playing. You can get there in a few steps. It is also very convenient to travel around. You can get a taxi at the door of the hotel. It is a 10-minute drive from Dianchi Lake and surrounding scenic spots. The service is also very good. They will greet you when they meet, and respond to your needs in a timely manner. There is a self-service laundry room on the 2nd floor, which can be used for drying. It is very convenient to wash clothes, and the breakfast is delicious! The room is comfortable and I will choose this hotel next time

One thing I like about this hotel is that it is not crowded with people, front desk is very responsive and they try their utmost best to please their guests. Had a restful sleep and pleased that I was able to get hot showers. Didn't try their breakfast at their level 9 restaurant as they mentioned only certain days they have halal breakfast. No in room fridge but there are convenience stores nearby, at night there are fruit sellers along the road. There is a hospital nearby and a police post. Pharmacy nearby and quite please with the area. Even though there are No Smoking Signs, other guest do smoke in the hotel. And low season means there are fewer guest so, lesser smokers there, which I am happy about. They have self service laundry room with one washer and a separate dryer. Quite happy with that too. Thank you front desk ladies for your service and for the breakfast packs given to us for our departure to the airport. Apologies for not able to take the airport transfer due to my Mother in Law's knees. Hope to see you all soon!

I chose the family room for my trip with my parents. The environment was great and the room was spacious. The location is convenient, with many dining options nearby. The service was also excellent; the front desk staff were very welcoming during check-in. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; it was a bit noisy at night. I could clearly hear conversations and water sounds from next door. If someone uses the toilet at night, anyone sleeping outside the bathroom will definitely wake up, as the toilet flush is very loud and not soundproofed. Other than that, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Overall, the stay was highly satisfying and definitely worth recommending. We were initially drawn by the ethnic characteristics of the hotel when booking, and after checking in, we were truly impressed by the warm and professional service, well-equipped rooms, and convenient location. Given that we were traveling as a family with elderly members, the staff patiently helped us upgrade and adjust our room type until we were completely satisfied. The breakfast offered a nutritious and varied selection—the traditional pot milk tea comes highly recommended. The hotel also provides a complimentary ethnic photo experience, which aligns perfectly with its cultural theme. Its location is another advantage, within walking distance to several city attractions, and the lively atmosphere downstairs adds a touch of local charm, somewhat making up for the minor drawbacks of being housed in an older building (such as sharing the elevator with neighboring businesses).

Following recommendations from friends on social media, I stayed near Cuihu Lake in Kunming this time, and it was a success! At just 150 yuan per person, I found a designer hotel with incredible value for money. **✔️ The location is unbeatable, perfect for a City walk around Cuihu Lake.** * 📍 The hotel is situated within the Yunnan Agricultural Institute. * 🍃 Close to the West Gate of Cuihu Park and Wenlin Street. * 🚇 About an 800-meter walk to the nearest subway station (Line 3). * 🍜 Very convenient to visit Banpo Xiaoguo Mixian (though I found it just okay after trying it; perhaps my expectations were too high 🥺). **✔️ The overall design is industrial with lush greenery, giving it a beautiful American vintage vibe.** * Both the public areas and the exterior are incredibly photogenic. The contrast of the green plants outside and the bronze tones of the hotel was a pleasant surprise. * The room details are also excellent: black and white color scheme, pure copper bathtub, projector, double vanity, and a separate wet and dry area. After a day of exploring, it was wonderfully comfortable to come back, soak in a hot bath, and then relax while watching TV shows. **✔️ The highlight, above all, is the hotel's superb service.** * The front desk lady was incredibly gentle. I casually asked if she could recommend any good BBQ spots nearby, and she actually put together a detailed gourmet guide for the hotel's surroundings! That earned huge bonus points. * The breakfast was extensive, offering both Western and Chinese (rice noodles) options, and it tasted great. They even asked what time we'd like to eat beforehand and reminded us when it was ready. * I accidentally left some items when checking out, and the hotel proactively contacted me, then packed my belongings and arranged for a delivery service. **A convenient location, stylish environment, comfortable rooms, and incredibly attentive service! It's definitely on my must-stay list for my next trip to Kunming!**

I was quite hesitant when booking a hotel, but I figured Howard Johnson would be a safe bet, and it certainly didn't let us down. The hotel isn't far from Dianchi Lake, and the surroundings are very pleasant and quiet. It's convenient to get around, whether by car or shared electric scooter. There are many hotels in the vicinity, including some more upscale options, but I think Howard Johnson offers pretty good value for money. Our room even came with a terrace, which was a lovely touch. The only slight downside was that some of the facilities felt a bit dated, but otherwise, everything else was great.

The Vienna Hotel is as reassuring as ever, and the deluxe double room is upgraded for free. The price is still OK. The waiter and the front desk are very intimate, the room size is about 25 square meters, and there are tatami mats near the window. The items are still sitting down and resting. There are places that will not appear very cramped. This is especially satisfactory. The most comfortable is the Vienna mattress, and the same feeling as at home, whether it is a business trip or a trip, Vienna is the first choice.
