I really love Cuihu Lake, so I always try to stay near it when I'm in town. Last month, I stayed at the Grand Park Hotel, but the room felt too small and the breakfast was just okay, so this time I decided to try the Grand Hyatt. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would choose to stay here again on my next visit. Here's why: First, the breakfast was delicious and perfectly suited my taste. The rice noodle and Ersi (a local noodle dish) station was extensive, with a wide variety of condiments, and the flavor was just as good as what you'd find at a dedicated rice noodle shop. They also offered fruit and vegetable juices like kale juice, a great selection of toppings for vegetable salads, tasty homemade yogurt, freshly made French toast, and a high-quality assortment of breads and pastries. The American coffee was decent, and the milk was rich. Overall, I really appreciate this kind of refined breakfast – not an overwhelming number of options that lack appeal, nor a crowded and noisy environment. Second, the service was excellent. Any issues were resolved promptly, and the staff were very friendly. Third, the location is fantastic; you can visit Cuihu Lake whenever you like. Regarding the online comments about the rooms not being new, I think this hotel offers great value for money. Plus, fully smart rooms aren't always more convenient; there's a certain charm to a slightly older place.

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The views are incredible, and it has a wonderful, old-money vintage feel. A big thank you to the front desk for upgrading me to a suite. The room was spacious and clean, and every single staff member provided exceptional service, always greeting me proactively. The value for money is outstanding; for just a few hundred [currency], you get service comparable to a luxury hotel. Yunnan is a fantastic place, and I will definitely stay at this hotel again on my next visit.

After reading numerous reviews, I felt the hotel's location was great and the breakfast was good, suggesting that as an established five-star property, it should be decent. However, many negative reviews mentioned outdated facilities, which made me quite apprehensive upon arrival. My check-in experience wasn't great. We arrived a little after 1 PM, but our room wasn't ready yet, still being cleaned. We were asked to store our luggage and return later to check in after we had gone out. After we went out for lunch, it was around 2:30 PM and the room still wasn't ready. The elderly and children in our group were quite tired. They managed to sort it out within ten minutes after that, but then we had issues with the room key cards. I was initially quite disappointed, but once we got to the room, I found the facilities weren't as dated as some reviews suggested. The room felt quite spacious, and the amenities were decent – much better than I had anticipated. The balcony offered a direct view of Nanqiang Street Night Market, which was bustling with food stalls, and it was also very close to the old town. Later, a staff member helped deliver our luggage to the room with a very good attitude. They explained that during peak season, with many tourists, service might not always be perfect, and I decided to be understanding about it. The service for the remaining two days of our stay was excellent. The breakfast was indeed impressive. There was a rich selection of hot and cold dishes, including local Yunnan specialties like freshly prepared rice noodles. They also had a good array of Western-style simple meals, delicious porridge, and a wide variety of salads. A special mention goes to their 'flower cakes' (鲜花饼); they were clearly freshly baked and absolutely far superior to any we found outside. We even bought four boxes to take home. The complimentary water provided was local mineral water, which was surprisingly pleasant. Overall, I'd say the value for money was good, and my entire family was very satisfied with our stay.

Hotel was pretty good. The location is fantastic and the rooms were clean and the service was above average. We had an issue with temperature control- the air conditioning doesn’t work in the winter, and this was not indicated on the temperature control panel. The staff graciously provided a portable device when the issue was brought up. All in all pretty good hotel.

Hotel service was friendly and good. Check in service was fast. Breakfast provided were good with varieties of western and Chinese type. Location was convenient to go to places of interests. Except the air fragrance used in the room were strong unfortunately causes allergy reactions to one of my daughter. We had to used a plastic bag to cover them up which helped to reduce her allergic reactions. Overall, it is a nice and clean hotel with convenient locations to food and easy travel distances to travel around Kunming.

The hotel's location is super convenient, close to shopping and dining. The room was clean and had no strange smells, but the best part was the incredibly thoughtful service. The location is fantastic! It's right downstairs from Jinma Biji Archway, and not far from Nanping Pedestrian Street commercial area, Kunming Old Street, and Cuihu Lake. It's near the city center, yet the value for money is incredibly high, which is rare to find. For whatever reason, hostels can always be a great option for those looking to stay for multiple days without breaking the bank. This guesthouse is a long-established one, and after checking in, it certainly lived up to its reputation. Even after so many years in business, the facilities and environment are impeccable. The rooms have air conditioning, and the sink, toilet, and laundry room are outside the rooms, preventing any overcrowding. There's a bar outside the rooms with a lively atmosphere at night. Beyond the bar, there's also a balcony where it's quite pleasant to soak up some sun during the day. The front desk staff were also very thoughtful. When they heard it was my first time staying in a hostel, they even gave me a pair of earplugs. Disposable towels, toothbrushes, and slippers were provided, and the first set was given for free. Later, when I needed another toothbrush, the front desk attendant, seeing I was staying for a whole week, also gave me a complimentary set. In short, they were always responsive to requests, but they went beyond just that – it was really great! 👍👍 The other guests in the room were also respectful and polite, which alleviated my initial concerns about staying in a hostel for the first time. I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance and will recommend it to others!

Pros: The hotel has a rich history and has hosted many famous people. The decor is luxurious and beautifully designed. The location is excellent, right by Cuihu Lake. Upon check-in, the front desk upgraded us to a higher floor room (though they didn't mention why proactively). They also provided a sweet soup before bed. Upon check-out, Mr. Wang gave us a farewell gift (yogurt and candy). Cons: For a luxury five-star hotel, the service falls short. The complimentary snack jar in the room had packaging left by the previous guest, which hadn't been cleaned. During breakfast peak hours, it was crowded, but no one was there to help guests find a table. As for facilities, those who prefer showering have to do so in the bathtub, which isn't ideal for elderly guests or children.

I stayed for two nights this time and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The room was spotless, and the bedding was soft and breathable – no stuffiness at all. The soundproofing was surprisingly good; I wasn't disturbed by any hallway noise at night. Check-in at the front desk was super fast, and they even proactively gave me a guide to local restaurants, which was a very thoughtful touch. The room itself was old and mediocre. The TV's color was so faded it was unwatchable – like something out of the 90s. The service staff (restaurant, housekeeping) were generally older, and they were very un proactive about replacing and replenishing amenities. It felt more like a three-star hotel's performance. The front desk staff's professionalism was decent overall, and the luggage service was基本active and attentive. For dining, the breakfast was quite ordinary, comparable to what you'd find in a domestic budget hotel. The public hot spring facilities were generally acceptable. Since it was included in the room rate, and they only opened a few of the pools, like 2 or 3 out of 8, it felt a bit like a rip-off. This really doesn't align with what you'd expect from a brand under a 5-star hotel group.

The service was excellent; the butler contacted us a day in advance. The surroundings are beautiful, just a 15-minute drive from Haigang Dam, so you can enjoy walks along Dianchi Lake, feed the seagulls, and watch the sunrise and sunset every morning and evening. The hotel facilities are clean and hygienic, and the rooms are spacious. Breakfast was decent and looked abundant, but it lacked many local Yunnan specialties like Ersi, Erkuai, and Shuipaoli. Additionally, the hotel's design is grand and open, making the lobby quite cold in winter. Walking from Building 5, first floor, directly to the Black Pearl restaurant, it's clear the air conditioning struggles to cover the entire hotel. We often felt chilly, even needing extra layers when dining in the restaurant.

Nanping Pedestrian Street Kunming|0.72km from city center
My main purpose for visiting Kunming this time was to escape the summer heat, relax, and explore the local food scene, so I chose a hotel right next to Kunming Old Street. It's an established five-star hotel, showing its age a bit, but that also gives it a reassuring sense of reliability. The rooms are standard, nothing fancy, but the blue skies and white clouds outside the window were beautiful every day. The complimentary welcome fruits and snacks were plentiful and even included lollipops, which made me feel like the hotel puts a special emphasis on families with children. There's a kids' play area on the floor, and the buffet restaurant even has a dedicated children's dining section. The breakfast was the biggest highlight – rich, delicious, and featuring many Yunnan specialty dishes. Just be sure to avoid peak times. The hotel's location is unbeatable. Nanping Walking Street, Nanqiang Street, and Jinma Biji Archway are all within walking distance, and ride-sharing services are readily available, with pickups almost instantaneous.

The room quality was excellent, very spacious, and the environment was great. It had a bathtub and hot springs, and the pool was also available for soaking. However, it seems the king-size bed rooms are all on the periphery, so the windows don't offer a view of the indoor pool shown in picture 1. Amenities: Hot springs, swimming pool, bathtub – all facilities are well-equipped and very convenient. The front desk efficiently checked me in and also introduced the hotel facilities and surrounding attractions. The room is simple and elegant, with floor-to-ceiling windows with a wide view, soft and comfortable bedding, separate wet and dry bathrooms and complete supplies, and quality is evident in every detail. This was my first time staying at the Jinjiang Hotel in Kunming. I usually prefer older hotels 🏨, and since my train arrived late, and traffic in Kunming can still be bad even at 10 PM, I was glad to see the Jinjiang Hotel was only a few hundred meters walk from the train station. A 4-star hotel with a double bed for only 200 yuan in December? I booked it without hesitation. And it definitely didn't disappoint! It's within walking distance of the train station, the lobby is bright and spacious, and check-in was quick. The lady at the desk promptly upgraded my room. When she heard I'd be staying again in a few days, she suggested I sign up for Jinjiang Club, saying it would make future bookings more affordable and even gave me a complimentary breakfast worth 58 yuan. It's not that I'm cheap, but that's a great deal! The three elevators 🛗 are fast, the hallways are brightly lit, and the room details were particularly thoughtful. It was very clean and comfortable, with three types of pillows – soft, buckwheat, and latex – so you can pick your preference. The water glasses and mouthwash cups were in a small sterilizing cabinet, ensuring cleanliness. There's a master power switch, making it easy to turn everything off, unlike some hotels where you spend ages looking for individual switches. The disposable slippers 🩴 were the largest I've ever seen in a hotel, a real boon for those with bigger feet who often have to make do. The toilet had alcohol wipes. There was a humidifier, earplugs, a steam eye mask, and even small snacks. In the evening, they offered white fungus soup, and breakfast was served at the revolving restaurant on the top floor. They provided 4 bottles of mineral water, not purified water, and there were two large rolls of toilet paper, so you won't have the embarrassing task of calling for more. The Wi-Fi is password-free, no need to search for it. In short, they've thought of everything. Plus, right next to the hotel is a food street with established eateries like Fuzhao Lou Steam Pot Chicken and the most authentic Yunnanese dishes from Xuanwei. There are also roadside BBQ stalls and 'fly restaurants' (local eateries) packed with locals, as well as several fruit stalls offering great value. It's truly convenient for dining, accommodation, and transportation. Special shout-outs to Xiao Ren, Xiao Xiong, and Xiao Luo, as well as housekeeping staff Li Xiaoli, for their enthusiasm and excellent service.

This is my third time staying at this hotel. It's incredibly close to the airport, with a shuttle service that gets you there in just 3 minutes. The rooms are spacious and very clean, well-equipped, and the service is excellent. It's truly the best choice for a layover. Plus, the price now is much cheaper than it was 10 years ago, offering fantastic value for money.

An unexpected delightful surprise on my Kunming trip! Hotel Latuso is a haven for those who appreciate details, and the stay was incredibly comfortable! The best decision I made on this trip to Kunming was choosing Hotel Latuso! From the moment I stepped in, I could feel the omnipresent thoughtfulness and high quality. 1. **Full of Details, Unique Design** The room's design style is very special, combining modern comfort with a unique artistic flair – definitely not a cookie-cutter hotel style. What impressed me most was the extreme attention to detail: the amenities were neatly arranged and stylish, the lighting design was just right, and every small decorative item showed careful selection and taste. As soon as I entered the room, I felt completely relaxed. 2. **Surprise Afternoon Tea, VIP Experience** Upon check-in, I learned about the complimentary afternoon tea at the hotel's café – what a thoughtful touch! I enjoyed a leisurely afternoon there; the desserts and drinks were both excellent. This wasn't just a freebie; it truly elevated the overall sense of well-being during my stay. 3. **Thoughtful Service, A Home Away From Home** The hotel's service deserves full marks! Every staff member was incredibly warm and professional, quick to respond, and provided attentive service without being intrusive. They truly made me feel right at home. 4. **Comfortable Living, Mind and Body Relaxed** The bedding was extremely comfortable, ensuring a high-quality sleep. The room's soundproofing was also good, allowing for a quiet resting environment even in the city center. This is a hidden gem of a hotel with warmth, design, and exceptional service. Whether for couples, girlfriends traveling together, or business trips, I highly recommend Latuso! Next time I'm in Kunming, I will definitely choose this place again.

The hotel is in a good location, very close to Kunming Botanical Garden and next to Yunnan Agricultural University. The environment of the Agricultural University is not inferior to that of the Botanical Garden, with green trees and a good place for walking. Although the hotel is a certain age, it is well maintained and does not feel old at all. It is clean and tidy. The flower arrangements and landscape shapes everywhere are very artistic. The service is also very good. Every employee I met greeted me with a smile. I especially want to praise the housekeeper Xiao Yang. The thoughtful service left us a good impression. He arranged fruit yogurt on time every day and kept asking us if we needed anything. After a day, we seemed to have become old friends. We couldn't help but greet each other enthusiastically when we met, because I felt that Xiao Yang wanted to provide us with better service from the bottom of his heart. This sincerity is something I have never felt in other hotels. In addition, the hotel restaurant is really delicious and highly recommended. For this reason, we stayed for another day.

My family went on a trip, and my colleagues recommended this hotel. It is really worth staying in! The hotel is located in the business district, so you don't have to worry about eating, drinking, and playing. You can get there in a few steps. It is also very convenient to travel around. You can get a taxi at the door of the hotel. It is a 10-minute drive from Dianchi Lake and surrounding scenic spots. The service is also very good. They will greet you when they meet, and respond to your needs in a timely manner. There is a self-service laundry room on the 2nd floor, which can be used for drying. Wanted a special place for some relaxing time together. Do not want to try the usual hotel in the city. After going through the photos, decided to give it a try. And voila….. absolutely no regrets choosing this hotel. The service provided was top notch, the staff are friendly, courteous and prompt. Housekeeping staff always clean up the villa to a level which I had no way to complain. Always willing to go the extra miles in providing personal services to the guests. The Villa I booked had a private hot spring and a huge garden which had the best view in my opinion. Every evening, we are able to watch the sunset in our private garden. It was really out of this world, couples must definitely try it. Everyday the hotel will provide a fruit basket and top up the bar counter with drinks and snacks at no costs. The ever-friendly staff (Miss Lee) even told me to let her know if there are any fruits I would like, she would arrange to fill it up in the fruit basket. She even check with me a few times if there are anything she could do to improve the stay with the hotel. Kudos to the management team for instilling this high service standard. Miss Lee even contacted me after I check out to ask for my feedback. Keep up the wonderful work. I will definitely be back. For this trip is filled with so much wonderful memories. Thanks to the team.

Overall, the stay was highly satisfying and definitely worth recommending. We were initially drawn by the ethnic characteristics of the hotel when booking, and after checking in, we were truly impressed by the warm and professional service, well-equipped rooms, and convenient location. Given that we were traveling as a family with elderly members, the staff patiently helped us upgrade and adjust our room type until we were completely satisfied. The breakfast offered a nutritious and varied selection—the traditional pot milk tea comes highly recommended. The hotel also provides a complimentary ethnic photo experience, which aligns perfectly with its cultural theme. Its location is another advantage, within walking distance to several city attractions, and the lively atmosphere downstairs adds a touch of local charm, somewhat making up for the minor drawbacks of being housed in an older building (such as sharing the elevator with neighboring businesses).

👍 Introduction: This hotel is upscale and grand, clean and hygienic. For breakfast, I had rice noodles. The room has a projector to watch movies, and it's relatively quiet. It offers good value for money, and overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay. 🌟 Suggestions: Add a floor-standing clothes rack for drying clothes and include welcome fruits like Hami melon and watermelon. 🚗 Transportation: Taxis are very convenient (though it's a bit of a walk inside and a little hard to find, next to a hot pot restaurant).

I was quite hesitant when booking a hotel, but I figured Howard Johnson would be a safe bet, and it certainly didn't let us down. The hotel isn't far from Dianchi Lake, and the surroundings are very pleasant and quiet. It's convenient to get around, whether by car or shared electric scooter. There are many hotels in the vicinity, including some more upscale options, but I think Howard Johnson offers pretty good value for money. Our room even came with a terrace, which was a lovely touch. The only slight downside was that some of the facilities felt a bit dated, but otherwise, everything else was great.
