It's incredibly convenient for transportation, with Futian High-Speed Rail Station and multiple (5!) subway lines right next to the hotel. The room itself was very spacious, and it even had a walk-in closet, which I haven't seen in the same room type at Shangri-La hotels I've stayed at in Beijing, Xi'an, Xiamen, Nanchang, Chengdu, Sanya, or Guangzhou. I know this hotel is undergoing renovations, and some packages for the new room types even include lounge access and five meals a day, which offers excellent value for money!
First, regarding the room, the newly renovated style is minimalist and refined. The room feels very spacious and has excellent natural light. The bathroom amenities include Diptyque shampoo, shower gel, and lotion, which was a very pleasant touch.
Next, concerning the dining, the five meals included afternoon tea, happy hour, evening dessert and drinks after check-in, and breakfast and lunch on the second day. The afternoon tea was a pleasant surprise. Although the food selection for happy hour wasn't extensive, it focused on quality over quantity. I didn't get to enjoy the late-night dessert session, but I learned that it was a chocolate-themed dessert night, and the themes are updated regularly. It's worth noting that no matter when you dine, you can enjoy unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Finally, I'd like to commend the hotel's service. All the staff I encountered during this stay were extremely polite and friendly. Especially Miss Sahar at the front desk, the check-in process was very smooth and efficient, and she even followed up afterward to see if I needed any assistance. A male staff member in the lounge also provided very professional service, always greeting us with a warm smile every time we entered the lounge for a meal.

This time, my Trip.com booking was a bit odd, split into two parts, so I guess I'll write a bit more. The executive lounge service was excellent, and the coffee was great! As for the room, after the upgrade, it was incredibly spacious! From one direction, you could even see the Ping An Finance Centre, Shenzhen's tallest landmark. A small detail, it seems the hair dryer has been upgraded to a Dyson, which is quite good. One evening, I got back late, so I just had a quick bite at the Japanese restaurant on the 6th floor, which was surprisingly good. The ingredients seemed very fresh, and I didn't feel heavy after eating. Breakfast at the 29th-floor executive lounge lasts a bit longer than the 6th-floor, until 11 AM. After my morning workout, I went up at exactly 11 AM, which was a bit late, but Ms. Carrie was very patient and asked the chef to make me an omelette, which was very kind. This hotel is located right above Shaibu Metro Station. Since I regularly need to go to the People's Hospital for morning health check-ups, I've stayed here many times for the convenience. I feel this is one of the hotels with the best value for money and relatively high standards in this neighborhood.
The advantages of this hotel are that the rooms are very spacious, featuring a separate bedroom and living room layout. The benefits of a large room are really obvious. First of all, the bathroom is far away, so there are no unusual noises or odors. Moreover, a large room has good air circulation; even without the AC on, it doesn't feel stuffy inside. There's also enough space to do stretching exercises. Secondly, the soundproofing here is great—even facing the main road, there isn't much traffic noise. Additionally, it's right above the metro station; once you exit the ticket gates and swipe your card, you can head straight up to your floor, which is super convenient. Room cleanliness is relatively okay; I haven't seen any obvious stains, and they also use delivery robots.
The downside is that, being a somewhat older hotel, there are noticeable marks on the bathroom vanity and walls. Also, the facilities are a bit dated: the TV remote is a bit finicky, the toilet flush lacks a bit of power, and while the fridge cools very well, it makes a strange noise so I unplug it when not in use. Furthermore, there is no master light switch by the bed, meaning you can't turn off the bathroom and entryway lights remotely. All in all, these are minor issues that don't affect anything major and pose no problems for hygiene or safety.

The room was very spacious, with two 1.4m beds. Our child slept in the middle, and adults on either side. The beds weren't as soft as some reviews mentioned, so turning over didn't wake anyone. We didn't even need air conditioning in this weather; we actually needed a blanket in the latter half of the night, and the duvet thickness was just right. There were no strange odors in the room. The bathroom was roomy, with both a shower and a bathtub. It was reassuring to put a non-slip mat in the tub and fill it with warm water to wash our sandy child's bottom. The complimentary double afternoon tea was also good; two adults and one child enjoyed three sandwiches, and our child loved them. There's a shuttle service to the InterContinental Hotel beach every half hour, on the hour and half-hour. During the National Day holiday, when it's busy, they run more frequently based on demand. This was our second stay, and they upgraded our room without us even asking, to a higher floor (9th floor) with a sea view, which exceeded our expectations. Overall, the value for money is excellent. The hotel service was warm and prompt; refilling mineral water and delivering a child's toothbrush was very quick. My only personal preference, which I'm a bit particular about, is that if you leave the bathroom night light on for older people, it's too bright and illuminates the bed area. It would be better if there were a floor light design in the bathroom. In the end, we turned off the bathroom light. Opened in 2009, the Grand Hyatt Shenzhen is already 17 years old, making it a truly 'old' hotel in China. When you talk about old hotels, there's always the sentiment of 'new over old' and a dismissive scorn for outdated decor. However, my impression of the Grand Hyatt Shenzhen is 'old on the outside, young at heart.'
The hotel's decor undeniably feels dated and old-fashioned by today's standards. Yet, the presence of new bidet toilets and sturdy, well-maintained bathroom fixtures prevents the hardware from feeling run-down. Furthermore, the meticulous and neat bed-making clearly demonstrates the hotel's housekeeping department is on top of their game. I'm not sure if all rooms are like this, but in the corner king room I stayed in, there was a palpable sense that even the air felt clean. This is thanks to the meticulously clean windows, which at one point gave me the impression of being in a Japanese hotel.
The hotel is very close to Luohu Port, and from the guestroom, you can take in panoramic views of Luohu landmarks such as Kingkey 100 and Diwang Building. Luohu must be considered an older district in Shenzhen, and it certainly lives up to its reputation with plenty of dining, drinking, and entertainment options! The sky lobby offers stunning views. The twin room in the Club Lounge was spacious and comfortable, the bedding provided a very restful sleep, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The service was attentive and courteous. The food selection at the Club Lounge was diverse and delicious. It was an excellent stay! The Club Lounge twin room was spacious and clean, with meticulous service, and the executive lounge was a great place to eat and relax. The weather wasn't perfect for swimming, but we walked along the beach, which is nearby.

We thought we needed hooks for coats and bags in the hallway, and at least a small table in the room for a computer or for the family to have tea.

1. Near-perfect location & transport:
Directly opposite Window of the World and connected to Yitian Holiday Plaza. You can take the elevator straight up to the lobby from level B2 of the mall, completely indoors—a lifesaver on rainy days. Direct access via Exit A of the Window of the World Metro Station (Lines 1/2), within walking distance to Happy Valley and Splendid China. It's also just around a 10-minute drive to the Shenzhen Bay Port and about 30 minutes to the airport.
2. Room & Views:
Spacious room with fantastic views. The signature ”Heavenly Bed” was super comfortable, and looking out over the illuminated Window of the World at night was wonderful.
3. The pool was the best surprise:
The outdoor landscaped pool is a real standout among Shenzhen hotels—it's large, with distinct deep and shallow ends, making it great for families with kids.

I stayed in a runway view king room during the National Day holiday, and the overall experience was good. It's a great airport hotel for aviation enthusiasts.
From an aviation enthusiast's perspective, the hotel itself is a fantastic spot for taking photos. The 5th-floor terrace and some rooms offer excellent views for photographing the southern approach to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport's west runway. The hotel rooms feature a double-window design: the inner window can be fully opened, while the outer window has a normal restrictor, allowing for ventilation but not full opening. This design effectively balances soundproofing and security with a good viewing experience. It's quite enjoyable to sit on the sofa and watch the bustling airport outside.
From a regular guest's perspective, the hotel's soundproofing is excellent. With both windows closed, the room remains relatively quiet even when large aircraft start their engines on the tarmac outside or when bird-scaring cannons are used nearby. This is a crucial feature for an airport hotel.
The hotel is connected to the terminal via a dedicated walkway, making it less than a 15-minute walk to the check-in counters, which is very convenient. The P2 parking lot is located downstairs, making car rental and return equally convenient.
The room amenities are standard for a hotel of this caliber, including a bathtub, although the bathroom felt a bit cramped overall. The garden terrace on the 5th floor is a major highlight, perfect for both plane spotting and relaxing strolls in the garden and on the lawn.
Service was warm and attentive. During breakfast and dinner buffets, order was well-maintained. When children cried, staff proactively assisted parents in calming them down, striving to maintain a quiet and comfortable dining environment. Pool management was also very good; even with large crowds during the National Day holiday, the changing rooms remained clean and orderly.
Regarding dining, I tried breakfast, the evening buffet, and the Chinese restaurant. Breakfast offered a rich variety, with comprehensive congee, noodle, egg, and pancake stations, and some daily variations. The evening buffet and Chinese restaurant were generally decent, and the dinner even featured a live singer, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
I have two suggestions for future improvements. First, parking guidance. The hotel has its own parking area on the L floor and also uses the airport's P2 parking. It took some effort to find the L-floor parking area on my first visit, and I hope the signage and guidance along the way can be improved. Second, there are several steps between the L-floor parking area and the hotel lobby, which is inconvenient for guests with luggage. I hope a ramp or other accessible pathways can be added in the future.
Overall, it was a great stay. It's an ideal choice for guests needing to catch a flight, rent a car, and especially for aviation enthusiasts. I would consider staying here again on my next visit to Shenzhen.FromSEK 847

This is probably the most comfortable Hilton I've ever stayed at, and specifically the Nanhai Wing. It's the renovated old-school Shenzhen's first five-star Nanhai Hotel, and it even has a small garden downstairs, giving it a full retro resort vibe. The Wanghai Wing, on the other hand, is more postmodern in style. The front desk staff thoughtfully gave us an extra breakfast. The kids' toiletries, slippers, and bathrobes were also adorable. Room service was excellent. The Nanhai pool is 2 meters deep, perfect for a comfortable swim, and it wasn't crowded even during the National Day holiday. The public areas also have a sauna, hot tubs, and relaxation areas. The Wanghai side has a shallower outdoor pool suitable for kids and a dedicated children's pool, which tends to be a bit busier. There's also an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. The shuttle service between the two hotels is frequent, but they're actually very close, just a 3-minute walk apart. The suite in the Nanhai Wing offers excellent value for money compared to equivalent room types in the Wanghai Wing. It has two large balconies and a sofa bed that can be opened up, easily accommodating a family of four. The room design is great, with the bathroom, shower, toilet, and walk-in closet each being independent spaces that can be separated by sliding doors. Getting around from the Nanhai Wing is also very convenient; the elevator is very close to the lobby entrance, and you don't need to go up and down hills within the hotel. There were some things I liked about Sentosa Hotel, but unfortunately my overall experience was disappointing.
The room was very spacious, although a little dated. When we arrived, the room type we had booked was unavailable, so the hotel upgraded us to a better room, which I really appreciated. Our room had a wardrobe and a bathtub, and the view of the city from the bathroom was absolutely amazing.
The hotel also has a large swimming pool, which was one of the reasons I chose it. However, one day we went swimming and there were no towels available. You are also not allowed to take the pool towels back to your room. A swimming cap is required, although this is quite common in China, so I don’t consider that a major issue.
The room had a stove, which initially seemed very convenient, but there were no pots or other cookware provided, making the stove essentially useless. There was also no washing machine. The internet was another major problem — the connection was extremely poor and sometimes barely worked even with Chinese websites.
The most disappointing part of our stay happened on our check-out day. Our confirmed check-out time was 14:00, but the hotel called us early in the morning and told us that we needed to leave the room immediately because of an “emergency situation.” They did not seem concerned that our agreed check-out time was several hours later. I later found out that the supposed emergency was actually related to a meeting/event being held at the hotel, and guests were being asked to leave their rooms early because of it. I found this extremely unprofessional and stressful. After discussing it with the hotel, we eventually reached an agreement that allowed us some time, but this experience significantly affected my rating.
The location is also fairly quiet. There is a 7-Eleven nearby, but not much else within the immediate area. I didn’t find any shopping malls or tourist attractions nearby. There is a park, but otherwise there isn’t much to do. On the positive side, the metro station is only around a 7–10 minute walk away, so getting to other parts of Shenzhen is relatively convenient.
Overall, the hotel has some strong points: spacious rooms, a large pool, good metro access, and potentially fantastic city views. I was also grateful for the room upgrade. However, the extremely poor internet, lack of basic kitchen equipment, limited surroundings, and especially the way the hotel handled our check-out made the stay much less enjoyable than it could have been.FromSEK 629
