Riverside Inn

Travelled by train. The Riverside inn is a short walk away. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. It's self service check in, but the owner was easy to contact by email, and very helpful. We booked room 3 with a lovely view of the river. Breakfast was great too! Highly recommend.

Easy self check in and check out. Spotlessly clean, great decoration, we stayed in room 6 and I imagine it has just had a complete refurb. Breakfast had plenty of choice. All round good value for money. Great location as it is only a 10 minute walk to the cathedral and city centre

It was perfect in every way. Easy to check in, a good location within an easy walk of the centre of Ely, a well appointed room furnished and decorated to a high standard, a luxurious bathroom, everything exceptionally clean and a good breakfast. We would definitely stay here again!

It was a very comfortable and well heated room room. The staff responded very well to requests. The staff were helpful in all situations. The hotel is situated in a very quiet part of Ely. There was a good level of service throughout. Would recommend it for a short stay.

Chief attraction must be location - both specifically with its outlook across and down the river and generally with its easy walking access to Cathedral, town, etc. Absentee management worked satisfactorily for my disabled partner and myself, thanks to communications and reassurances at time of booking - but I could imagine it presenting problems if issues arose during one's stay. Breakfast satisfactory, but VERY pre-prepared.

We had the premier room which had a lovely view over the river. The bed and pillows were nice and comfortable and we slept well. However there were a couple of minus points. Firstly we were leading a conference in Ely and had to leave to set up on Saturday morning at 7.45. Riverside only starts serving breakfast at 8am and when we asked if it was possible to have something (not cooked) for us a little early we were told bluntly that was not possible unless we paid extra. That seemed a rather harsh answer. Secondly when we went to bed at 10pm we could hear the music from the nearby pub. I was a little concerned it would keep us awake but we were tired and it didn't disturb us. I liked Riverside but we are not sure we would stay there again.

This lovely place certainly lives up to its reviews! We had a very large well appointed room with a wonderful view of the river. Superb spacious bathroom with underfloor heating. Everything was spotlessly clean and the king size bed was wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast offered a great choice and was well done with a friendly efficient service. Check in and out was very easy and the Inn was perfectly placed for visiting the sites of Ely! We were there Saturday to Monday and we never used the car. Booking of restaurants on a Saturday a few days before is advisable as our first choices were full but we still managed to find an excellent meal in town. We booked the parking at the back and I think it was worth it, if you are going to be in and out with your car it would certainly worth it as the public spaces at the front were often full and the 3 in front of the Inn were very muddy when we were there. We would definitely stay here again, simply wonderful!
