I'll start with the bedroom: - very small with a dirty and uncleaned shower, a shower tap that remains in our hand, impossible to close the water during the shower. Big bed but you can feel the springs. Light from the key all night long and light from the hallway that can be seen through the door. The hotel: - Housekeeping women are impolite: they vacuum at 7:30 in the morning talking very loudly to their colleagues. - the location is very good, right next to the remains of herculaneum. - very nice decoration of the common areas including sea view for the breakfast room. - An elevator which takes 10min to go up to the first floor. Breakfast: - just 30 minutes for a simple hot chocolate that you have to ask for 5 times. We had however pre-filled a form with our desires for breakfast, what was the point. We arrive at the appointed time, we are told there is nothing left. Dishes are dirty, staff roll their eyes when we talk about it. Only the lady at the reception was able to receive us, the Mr at the reception in the morning took our remarks lightly, particularly concerning a cockroach at the reception. In conclusion, you want to sleep in the morning, have a good breakfast don't come here.

It's the worst place I've had the misfortune to know. Terrible place. Not to mention son and mom

The Herculaneum hotel is located right in front of the entrance to the excavations of Herculaneum, near the circumvesuviana station, very convenient for guests wishing to visit ancient Herculaneum. We had booked a double room, but they gave us a free upgrade, letting us stay in a very large triple. The room is clean and equipped with everything you need and so is the bathroom, with lots of towels and a large shower. The satisfying sweet and savory breakfast is served in a beautiful room overlooking the sea and the excavations. The evening before, you need to communicate the chosen time and the foods you like, filling in a form, I think due to the Covid restrictions. Near the hotel there are many bars, pizzerias, restaurants and various shops for every need. In conclusion, an excellent stay in a pleasant and not expensive location. The staff is very courteous and prepared. Definitely a nice stay to recommend.

Second time at this hotel and we love it. The rooms are light and airy with modern bathrooms and balcony to sit out. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious fruit jucies and coffee. They even let you bring your breakfast to your room . The hotel is right across from the ruins and there are plenty of good restaurants and cafes in the area. Good prices too . I hope to return again next year and wouldn't choose anywhere else.

The young man acting as the receptionist was exemplary in every way; kind, helpful, engaging and a credit his profession. The dated decor, below par WiFi and leaking windows (heavy rain storm) were bearable but the noise of other guests, the road (it’s on a junction) and the utterly ludicrous breakfast on offer, tipped the balance. The food was cheap, cheap and more cheap. Nothing fresh, everything cold including hard boiled eggs. When butter was requested 30 minutes in to service we were curtly told it was “finished”. Coffee was cheap instant despite an espresso machine in view. It’s so convenient for Herculaneum, a one nighter might be bearable but go out for breakfast. Oh, and no bar, no restaurant, no complimentary water, no kettle in room and the list goes on. These points explained to the young man on reception as I don’t leave poor reviews without telling the staff face to face.

The staff was extremely kind and helpful! I’ve stayed at resorts where the staff wasn’t that attentive. Our room was very clean too. The rooftop porches were a bonus. The neighborhood small shop owners are just as nice, despite the language barriers. We had to ring a buzzer at night to be let in. That was a bit concerning. None the less we figured out it was safe. Unfortunately in August it’s very hot and the air conditioner didn’t function well. My family and I sweated all night long. We didn’t mind the size of the room or that it needed updated. If you want a basic clean room at a good price, this place is for you.

This is a basic value hotel in a good location. Our room was clean with a good shower, but unfortunately it did not live up to the online room images. Breakfast was OK, and parking in a secluded private area was available to us, although this was about 700m away from the hotel.

We stayed in this Hotel as a Family, we based ourselves here as we wanted a central location to visit many places in Naples and this certainly did not disappoint. Nice clean Hotel with a nice Breakfast, there is a terrace where you can sit at night and even bring your own food and drinks for a peaceful evening or there are many local restaurants. The Train station is handy as just a short walk away and super cheap to use, I would definately use here trains and not Taxi even from the airport get a bus to the main station then a train here. If you want a nice base in a friendly location then this is a place for you.

The hotel's strength was its location situated across the road from the entrance to the Herculaneum ruins. The hotel room was clean and pleasant. The continental breakfast was great and with a good range. The room was a tad basic (no additional chairs or desk for example). The mini bar was not well stocked so we did not use it. The wifi signal was a tad weak. It was quite loud on the street below our hotel room so we did have difficulty sleeping on occasion (so bring ear plugs).

Plus side: You could not get a better location if visiting Herculaneum Archaeological site as literally across the road. Had some nice little eateries around. The staff and locals were very friendly and hotel was clean. Shower was nice and big. Towels and bedding clean. Breakfast was nice. We stayed for 2 nights. Down side: Hotel really does need a sprucing up, as the other reviews mention. Outdated and tired decor. Room did not look as images shown by hotel. No heating in room, so we had to request additional blanket as weather was wet and cold when we were there, stained seat covering, no plug in sink and plug hole looked a little unsavoury. Water from shower backed up so had to turn off shower to let water drain away a bit and then turn back on. Terrace was scraggy and overlooked by another 2 terraces, so was not private, but did not sit out on it as weather bad anyway. OK to stay if visiting Herculaneum site and stay one night as so convenient. Really does need refurb and photos to be updated to reflect on what they are currently now offering, so more realistic for people to make informed choice if to stay or not and avoid disappointing their customers.

Hotel is in great location right opposite ruins of Herculaneum that’s about all of the benefits I can say for it . It’s nothing like the photos on the website, the rooms themselves are quite clean as serviced every day but the decoration is tired and walls and paint are dirty, with black mold on the bathroom cieling. No furniture on the balcony but you wouldn’t want to sit out anyway . The sheets and towels were clean but the beds and furniture were not good as you can see from the photos. The breakfast was adequate , all cold and not much choice- no fruit . The room was supposed to be a superior deluxe if it was I can’t imagine what the others are like . There was obviously a room above ours and every time they used the bathroom it sounded like a river was gushing into our room waking us up at least twice most nights and the noise from their shower was also really loud especially when the occupant decided to shower at 1am . Erculaneo itself does not have a lot to offer in way of places to eat or anything to see other than the ruins which are well worth a visit and town is dirty and uncared for.

Wonderful breakfast, amazing and friendly staff, great location, the mattress needs to be updated, we had a king size bed aka 2 twin mattress put together but no mattress pad and the mattresses where 2 different sizes. Unfortunately had 2 nights of very bad sleep where the mattresses kept separating. Asked if we could switch the mattress and they didn’t have anything available. For the price we paid we felt with it.

This hotel was chosen as it is just across the street from the Roman ruins which are well worth a visit. The receptionist spoke good English & was very helpful. The hotel was clean, the bed comfortable. The area that looks like a garden from the photos is on the 2nd floor and the fencing is covered with green fake leaves to screen the buildings opposite ! A clever idea that works well. Excellent buffet breakfast that would suit all nationalities and the service was cheerful & quick. The general area is unappealing - many fast food shops, dirty pavements. We did find one good restaurant about 8 minutes walk away - Bistrot Italia in Corso Italia. Parking can be hard to find a space and the machine did not accept card payment. Two nights was sufficient and a quick drive to the departure airport.
