The hotel is badged as a 4 * but is probably nearer a 3 *, the staff are pleasant but the hotel itself is very tired. The pool tiles are coming off in large quantities, the poolside showers aren't fully working and the indoor pool and roof is in a very poor condition. The hotel itself shows signs of its former standards but that has lapsed, the food is a reasonable quality but there is a buffet only and is quite limited. The rooms are a good size and the cleaning staff are fantastic, the fixtures are quite tired although the bed was comfortable with very clean sheets, pillows etc. There is a very, VERY, prominent French company that organises activities around the hotel who play loud and (personal opinion) terrible dance music that is annoying every day. We repeatedly had to ask it to be turned down as they leave a large portable speaker poolside playing inappropriately loud and hard dance-music when they're not actually doing activities. It's location (if your room is mountain view) is good with a quiet and interesting view, it's a 15 minute, €18 taxi into Puerto Banus and there are nice restaurants a few minutes walk away but make sure that you've pre-bought a nightcap if you want one as we learned when returning one night just after 12 that we can't have any room service and all bars are closed. If Golf is your thing then be aware that whilst it's prominent on the website there is actually no golf course or any affiliation with any golf course available to the hotel. The one the hotel used to own is now privately owned and charges full non-member price which with a buggy and club hire is around €120 / person. In closing, whilst we enjoyed the holiday, the hotel is definitely in need of some TLC
