Kilpisjarven Retkeilykeskus Rooms

We stayed here two nights: One on the tent and the other one on the apartment without toilet, but wiht a lovely view (number 129). You have to carefully look your place for a tent, because the groud is quite bumpy. But we found a nice place. And the room was really nice and quite big and the view was nice. The bed wasn't excellent for two, but ok. The problem was it was almost two soft and we both pour into the center of the bed during the nigt. The are included toilets and showers and sauna for free! We also rent a privat electric sauna, which was nice and clean. Would visit here again.

We were eating. Food was not So tasty, and we were really surprised that coffee was not included in the price. It is normally included in every restaurant in Finland, but not here😟 This is our last time in This restaurant, I hope there is some better place nearby.

We were eating, the food was not So good, but not bad too. Quite expensive, and when normally in Finland you can get free coffee, when you eat, in This place you have to pay for the coffee. And the coffee tasted not So good at all. So maybe I eat somewhere else Next time.

Location of this guesthouse is perfect for day hikes as the place is situated right at the bottom of the Saana fell. You can find the start of many hiking trails here. The rooms were in great condition and tidy. Sauna separately for women and men was heated every night. The breakfast was excellent to start off your exploring days! Overall, I enjoyed my stay a lot.

Kilpisjärven Retkeilykeskus (Kilpisjärvi Hiking Center) is the best location to discover Kilpisjärvi area: for hiking to Saana fjell or further and to discover either by boat or hiking the border post of Finland, Sweden & Norway. The center itself has been renovated some years ago, and it is both cozy and functional. Servivce was professional and friendly. The restaurant serves good basic meals for breakfast and lunch, and good bistro style a la carte for dinners. The center offer bed rooms. We stayed at 4 persons cabins (with kitchenette and private toilet & shower). The cabin was in fairly good condition and worked very well for 3 of us. You may bring your own linen or rent those with the cabin. The hut with open fireplace next to cabins and Kilpisjärvi lake was conveniently available for free to us. Good price-value and strong recommendation.
