Riad Palais Bahia Fes

Fes
Riad chosen because wanted something that's nice but inside the medina. Room: While the outside of the riad may look just like another building, once you walk through you're presented with a really nice courtyard with chairs and fountain, and to one side is the pool and bar area (and also where breakfast is). Believe there are about 10 rooms here in total. Very high ceiling and lots of space inside the room. Bed is clean and comfortable and there's no shortage of space to spread out your stuff. Shower water pressure is very good and all creature comfort items are there. Full marks. Location: As the riad is inside the medina, staff will tell you to get dropped off at the ”Fez Parking Site for SAUL Students” (on Google Maps) and a staff member will meet you and walk you in (took about 10min). From the riad, you are about 10min walk to Place R'cif, one of the big open squares. Add another 5-10min to Chouara Tannery or Al Attarine Madrasa (so about 15-20min total from riad). To go from the riad all the way west to the Blue Gate (note: the second half of this journey will be uphill) is about 30-45min depending on how crowded it is. Incidentally the main bus station (Gare Routière Principale) is just 10min walk away from Blue Gate if you're coming in by bus - probably best to take a petit taxi to go around the medina to the other side and walk into the riad instead of through the medina... But in any case, no complaints about the location. Intangibles: Staffs went out of their way to help! From ensuring we were properly picked up initially, being able to get picked up after coming back from a late dinner, and all the smiles and greetings whenever possible, they made us feel like we were part of them, even if only for a few days.

Ah where should I begin.... Upon stepping into the hotel, we could smell the horrible odour coming from the tannery. We wanted to use the bathtub in our room for a bath. There was an issue and it needed fixing. Also the a floor tile near the bathtub was broken. We didn't know it and stepped on it. The broken tile flipped up and could have cut us. The reason given by staff was the previous guest broke it and they didn't have the time to fix it before our arrival. Well then we should have been told to be careful or just don't let guests stay in that room till it is fixed? When we told the sales manager about the issues with the bathtub and broken tile, he gave lots of excuses, that we didn't know how to use the bathtub and if we are sure the broken tile is in our room and not outside the room. Very unprofessional and the way he talked was quite condescending. I had to film the broken tile IN the room to prove that I was telling the truth. Hairdryer was also damaged. No house slippers in the room. Hotel said that they do not have a fixed menu in their restaurant. Completely understand but nobody told us the price of each meal at all! The worse situation was when my Mother asked one of their staff, Simehed, if he spoke English, to help us with a situation. He blatantly lied and said no. 2 minutes later he was speaking perfect English to another guest behind us. First of all, you never lie to your guests. Second of all, it is just a poor reflection on your hotel and you are known as a five-star hotel. After our stay, I called the hotel asking for the contact details of the General Manager as I was furious with Simehed's behaviour. The guy who answered said he didn't know his GM's contact details. How can you not know your GM's contact in a hotel?? After that, he said he was busy and had things to do and hung up on me. He continued to hang up on me two more times and after that didn't even bother picking up the phone. Karawan Riad, your hotel may have a five-star interior, but I wouldn't even give one star for your staff service. I've stayed in many hotels around the world and yours has the worst service. Very disappointing! You may want to retrain your staff or get better ones. The only person who helped us a lot during our stay there was a staff named Nezha. She was very professional and sympathetic to our distress and she deserves to be commended for it. And because of her, I decided not to give one star.

Riad Inaya Fez

On y dort bien.

Must be all five-star praise, the boss is very good, the room is clean and tidy, the breakfast is very good, the waiter is very handsome, the younger sister is very good, and I highly recommend it to everyone. The lamb chops in his house are especially delicious. The people in the photo are not me.
Dar 7 Louyat

A full delight ! We had a wonderful week staying at Dar 7 Louyat. First, the staff is extremely nice, welcoming and helpful. Sufyan speaks many languages, including Chinese, which was very nice for my mother-in-law who speaks only mandarin. Our children (6 and 1.5) felt right away very confortable with Sufyan and Fatima, and could roam around in the Dar with ease and confidence, and play with them. Sufyan was super efficient in organizing transfer, excursions to the middle Atlas etc. The place is a palace ! although Bertrand, the owner, refer to it as a Bourgeois house from the XVth century. The central space where we could spend time and dine, where the children would play, is beautiful, a well of light with columns 30 feet high, with the rooms arranged all around from ground level to the top, and a little fountain in the middle. The place is wonderfully restaurés by traditional materials and artisans. A beautiful terrasse where Fatima would prépare and serve delicious marocain breakfasts with different types of breads and pancakes and crepes, cheese and butter, honey, homemade jams, coffee, squeezed orange juice, mint tea. It was so nice to stay there and enjoy the view, the sound of the fountain. The rooms were very nice, beautiful shower, a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. The wifi is good and I spent two days of work there in the most agréable setting. The location is also very good, right in the Medina, close to the very interesting place Serfarine. And the markets are everywhere around. The whole stay was a perfect delight. We had three diners there and I highly recommend the tagines and couscous etc prepared by Fatima. We’d definitely would love to return.
Dar Tazi - Medina View

Objectively speaking, it is generally good. It is an old house of more than 400 years. According to the Internet, Reagan stayed here and talked nonsense and communicated with the supervisor, but Reagan had a lunch here. The roof of the hotel overlooks the entire ancient city of Fez. The hotel is relatively old, the lights inside are very dim, I am not used to it, there is always a gloomy feeling living inside, but the location is good except for the view, it is on the other side of the ancient city of Medina, away from the seminary, notorious The infamous leather factory is a few hundred meters away, but the road to the ancient city of Fez must not overestimate your ability. It is best to find a guide, otherwise you will definitely get lost. The breakfast at the hotel is pretty good. Although there are fewer varieties, there are a lot of pastries and full of fresh orange juice and coffee.
Riad Jamai

I have been with my wife and my daughter at Riad Jamai for 4 days, the treatment we had from the entire team, Mohammed, Khadija, Meryen, Ayoub, was fantastic, they helped us with everything, they facilitated our trip and our stay in Fez. They are so close that they are part of your family, totally recommended. We are sure that our next trip to Fez we will repeat Riad Jamai, thank you for making us feel at home. We will come back!!! Sure
