Just returned from el pourto ,after reading some bad reports I was apprehensive about going as we had booked 2 weeks holiday.we are 2 ladies in our 60s we are friends. It is not as bad as people make out but it is not a holiday hotel it is more transient for people wanting to visit the area and have somewhere to lay their head .there is no appreciation that you have spent a lot of money to stay in their hotel.reception staff ok but they prefer Spanish residents , bar staff in reception area are so rude twice I tried to get served and they just carried on talking to each other so I walked away, no customer service skills at all.restaurant staff are very reserved only the odd one say hello..the best staff are the chamber maids they always speak and are very helpful..the rooms are kept spotless.we was never woke up early.the bathrooms are very small and not private at all.because we are friends one of us kept going out to give the other person privacy for the toilet, Something needs to be done re pool bar it is our pool to use but you can only drink and eat anything bought up there.but it is expensive and some budgets won't stretch to using the bar.again some staff speak and make you feel welcome.breakfast good but evening meal needs looking at as it is repetative and uninviting unless you love sweet things.please be aware it is not mobile friendly with restaurant being up on the first floor of a different block so your down in one lift and back up in another .as the lifts are not very reliable it can take a while to get to the restaurant. I wouldn't personally go back but it is central and very clean.maybe because I served all my career in customer service I expect to be looked after as I would have served residents.maybe they should have a mystery resident to report back to management re the failings of staff.after all we are the people who keep the money coming in and keep the Spanish economy going.please dont worry if you have booked to go as it is not to bad....

Today is 28 September 2022 and my daughter Jill's memory on Facebook was of us sitting in the Lomond Lounge at Glasgow Airport before our flight on 28 September 2019, looking forward to another enjoyable holiday at Hotel IPV Palace & Spa. Little did we know that the dreaded COVID pandemic was on the horizon and would almost bring the world to a stop. I have worked from home since 17 March 2020 and have never been on a bus or a train since then never mind an aeroplane. Looking at the memory prompted me to look at my previous reviews and I found that I did not submit a review for that visit. I know it is a bit late in the day however I want the people who read reviews before deciding on their destination to know that this hotel is first class in every way. Perfect location with unbeatable sea view, comfortable beds, scrupulously clean, powerful shower with constant hot water, good food and most important of all the wonderful, friendly, efficient staff. Our Jet2 Holiday was stress free throughout the flight and we were quickly through customs and luggage carousel at Malaga. The transfer to the hotel was pleasant and the driver wheeled my cases up to the entrance. I hesitated, looked around and felt I was back to my happy place. Walking through reception, smiles were coming in our direction before we reached the desk. Warm welcome as we checked in, asked for a kettle which was delivered to the room shortly afterwards. We couldn’t resist one of the delicious fruity boiled sweets which always sit in a bowl on the desk. Once again, we were on the top floor of the Cesares building. Cases discarded, balcony door opened, elbows on the balcony and taking in the panoramic sea view with the ever present sound of the waves … the most relaxing sound in the world. Housekeeping do a brilliant job, the room was pristine and the bathroom gleaming. Toiletries etc. available in case there was something we had forgotten to pack. Wherever we went in the hotel from Beach Bar, Dona Lola Restaurant, Lobby Bar and Shop we caught up with people we have got to know over the years. They all gave us a lovely welcome and hugs all round. Now most of the people reading this will want to know about the restaurant and quality of food. The Dona Lola Restaurant is spacious and all the tables are covered with lovely crisp fresh tablecloths with proper napkins. Weather permitting; we always opt to eat outside on the terrace, part of which is covered. Their breakfasts make a great start to the day. You can choose a cooked breakfast accompanied by eggs any which way you like … omelette, poached, boiled, scrambled (sorry no Cadbury’s chocolate ones). The continental breakfast is also delicious with a good choice of meats, cheeses, etc. Cava is available and with the fresh fruit juices you can easily mix yourself a Bucks Fizz or Bellini. I really liked this hotel. I got a room with a balcony, loads of sunshine. It was kept spotlessly clean and the staff were absolutely lovely at every turn. The location is dead center so you can walk to any beach,or the bus terminal one block away allows you to go anywhere in the Costa Del Sol I will check the prices at this hotel first before I choose anywhere else and I’ve been coming here for 20 years.

Iv been going here since 2002,, Would not look past it,, until now. I was there for my Husbands 60th, in room above reception 1st night good,, but no dish clothes or anything,, room not very clean,, coffee tables had spillage on it. Tuesday foreigners moved in above us,, 3 nights child scraped furniture over floor from 11.30pm till 5am,, reported to staff very rude,, what did they want them to do. No English tv channels,, got Jet2 involved waste time,, they moved us to room from hell, cause we complained. To many stags hens party's now, they never avoid that. To many foreigners coming over from Morocco stay couple nights, children running wild. We moved over to The Fuengirola Beach for last 3 nights,, great Hotel. Myramar has nothing no entertainment Happy Hour stopped. Staff terrible they won't help British, I'm a Scottish 😍 They defend their own. We did B&B good selection food, but cold is a microwave bit messy for me. Just believe me,, I loved this Hotel Gosh way at bottom of my list. Would never return,, not worth Their 3 Stars

We had a lovely holiday, pools were nice temperature, beds were quite comfy. It was so hot when we were there, one day was 35degrees, it was very hot at night, no air con in bedrooms, only livingroom. Staff were nice and friendly, grounds were well kept, beautiful gardens. Lacking a bar/snack bar. Some shops about 10 mins away, bigger shop about 20 mins away but you have to walk back up a very steep hill. Quite a small area not much for kids to do in the evenings. We had some lovely meals out, amazing Indian restaurant Little India, Chinese restaurant SlowBoat and Italian Pepparoni, not too many restaurants and only about 3 bars in the ar3a unless you go further afield. Steep Hill coming back to apartments. Probably most suited to older people and couples rather than families due to lack of facilities. The gym/arcade area were in darkness, so nothing for kids to do here in the apartments or the general area. Beach is over a motorway and was quite hard to find, dark gritty sand too, so worth thinking about when booking as quite far to walk back uphill! We stayed at pool most days due to this.

I visited the Angela Hotel from 1-9 November and I must say that I really enjoyed my stay. I was checked in by Manuela and Juan who were great and very helpful. I was allocated a room for my needs which I appreciated. My room was a decent size and very clean. It was cleaned daily to a high standard with plenty of towel and bedding changes. The bed was very comfortable. The amenities in the room include a kettle with coffee and tea, safe, wifi and a mini fridge (payable). the bathroom was also a decent size and clean but could possibly do with an upgrade. The balcony has 2 good quality chairs and a small table. My room was on the street side above the reception area and I still had a view of the sea. I'm glad that I chose the half board option which is excellent value. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very tasty with plenty of choice and hot when it should be. The bar/lounge is fantastic with great entertainment every night. The bonus is a happy 2 hours from 8-10. I congratulate the management and all staff for providing excellent service, thank you. I will definitely stay at the Angela again.

I'm so happy I finally found a place that I can say I've really enjoyed my time in.Staff who really know what it's all about-HOSPITALITY. Great welcome on my arrival,very comprehensive explanations as to where everything was and how to access things.I know people have complained about depositS for this that and the other-GET OVER IT.Ive stayed in higher end hotel who do the same. Eva ,Arthur and Fernando at Reception where excellent throughout my visit.I ate quite a bit at the hotel and I found the food good and the pleasantness and efficiency of all staff without exception to be wonderful. I asked for a room change on day two,as there was quite a loud group next to my original room and it was sorted immediately. The spa has all you could want also,and again a very pleasant guy takes care of things there. Finally,the room,again its got all you need.I had beautiful sea view,lovely dark wood floors,great shower and amenities aswell as wonderful Housekeeping. This hotel is mainly geared for LGBTQ client and as a member of that community I can recommend this hotel to you-Its great. Well done to everyone involved I'm making my first trip to Torremolinos so memorable and wonderful. John P Murphy xx
