This hotel is fantastic and staying here really elevated our trip. It's very new and modern, spotlessly clean and easy to navigate. All the staff are very friendly, and rooms are surprisingly large with comfortable beds large and high quality bathrooms. Somehow the hotel manages to provide all this, in Switzerland, while still being one of the most affordable places in Basel, which is really admirable. The bar / snack bar happens to be open all the time, only some items are available at limited times, but there is also a dispenser with ready-made microwavable meals available 24/7 if you really can't wait and don't feel like going out; I didn't use it but it was a welcome touch. The hotel even has a guest laundry, where you can wash and dry your own clothes if you don't feel like spending money on the hotel's laundry services. This is the first time I've encountered this in more than 100 hotels that I've stayed in, and it was a very pleasant surprise. With a direct 20-min bus line to both the city center (Schifflande / Claraplatz) and the train station, the hotel does not have any drawbacks from being "not central", and we were never inconvenienced by that in any way. The only thing missing from his awesome hotel is SAUSAGES and possibly one more form of eggs like hardboiled. For people who don't like cold cuts like ham, salami and cheese, they are pretty much stuck with the scrambled eggs, so having baked/fried/grilled sausages would be amazing. I understand that this can be hard to squeeze in, considering how affordable this hotel is, but I've seen a cheaper hotel in Geneva do it, so I know it's doable. 10/10, will visit again for sure.
