Stirk House Hotel

I married my best friend at stirk house on 3rd Feb. We had the best day of our lives. From the moment we booked right until the moment we left all the staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is to much trouble and they go out of their way to make sure your day is perfect. Dave the master of ceremonies is an absolute credit to the team, what a treasure! He is brilliant at what he does and really makes the day. The food is excellent, the venue is beautiful, and the bedrooms are lovely. We couldn't fault anything, we really did have the most perfect wedding day..even the sun made an appearance after it had forecast rain all week! Thankyou so much to all the fantastic staff for all your hard work x

Really would have liked a small fridge if staying more than 1 night. Would have been nice to have shower caps and the small things like comb, toothpaste, a handrail on bath would have helped me get out without worrying of slipping. The suite was very comfortable, but over two or more days stay, big cups for tea, but then again, seems petty, against all the positives

We were only here for one night to attend a family wedding. However it was enough to be impressed. First of all the staff were incredibly friendly and professional from arrival to departure. The room was well appointed and functional. The seating areas were plentiful and spacious. The breakfast we had before departure was excellent and again we were greeted and dealt with by the excellent staff. Would heartily recommend.

We have been to the Stirk House a number of times previously and enjoyed it every time. However this time it was really good. The resaurant meal was amazing. I am gluten intolerant and it wasn't a problem finding something lovely to eat. For starters I went with the garlic mushrooms and what a delight they were. Two large ****ake mushrooms with this incedible gf bread crumbs on top. I have never had garlic mushrooms like it. I had the roast chicken to follow and that was also delicious. My Husband equally enjoyed what he had. All the staff are amazing and next morning I was offered GF cereal as they had got them in especially for me!! So impressed. It goes without saying that we will definitley be back. We always have a lodge room and that was so lovely and warm. One small gripe. The breakfast could have done with being a bit warmer, but that said it was still good. Looking through the diary to see when we can come back

I’m not sure there is a better place than Stirk House, absolutely stunning in every way and just when you think it couldn’t be more outstanding you meet the most friendliest staff ever. So happy to have spent my wife’s birthday there this week. Perfect food and rooms too. Terrific value for the calibre of establishment. Can’t recommend enough and will be back very soon. We had our usual brilliant time at Stirk House and thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in Manor Room 15. The comfortable bed and large bathroom with a bath and separate walk in shower is a bonus. The countryside setting is so restful and the views are wonderful. The staff are all very kind and attentive and do their utmost to ensure you have a really lovely stay.

As usual a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Stirk House. The room was comfortable and warm with an unrivalled view across the Lancashire countryside; the food was excellent; and the staff, as usual, were professional, helpful and friendly. A perfect way to celebrate our 51st wedding anniversary. We'll be back sooner rather than later!

We found the venue difficult to access with wheelchair. There seem to be steps to a lot of the areas. However, we do appreciate this is a very old building. It was obvious that what could be done, had been. The master of ceremonies at the wedding was fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. He ensured we had a stress free day at my daughters wedding. Our room was booked for disabled guest. Unfortunately it definitely was not disabled friendly. We were on the ground floor, almost at the very end of the block. This meant we had to try to manoeuvre a wheelchair through one outside door, two internal firedoors and our room door. The room itself had beautiful views. Unfortunately for us, the bed was far too soft (personal preference) The shower had quite a high step to get into it. I actually got stuck and had a struggle to get out. My husband, due to his disability, was unable to use it. There was also a very large floating cobweb on the ceiling. I was amazed housekeeping had missed this as everything else was spotless. The staff were absolutely amazing. Very friendly. The staff at breakfast were pure gold. So helpful, friendly, professional and warm. A special thankyou to the housekeeping team that moved both the brides belongings seamlessly, from their rooms to the bridal suite. Although we had a few issues, and the first day and night were very stressful, we can not thankyou enough for the incredible service at the wedding. Everything was perfect. It was a truly wonderful day. Thankyou. Everyone at Stirk House was amazing, very professional, helpful and friendly. We have wonderful memories of a wonderful place. Thankyou to everyone involved

Our visit to Stirk House was for a friends wedding and we were not disappointed! Not only did they give our friends the best wedding day ever - but we were made to feel like our stay was important to them too. The staff are extremely attentive and go the extra mile - massive shout out to the chef at the breakfast stand! Rooms were basic but comfortable but the bed was really comfy. Food - all excellent! Would highly recommend!
