Beautiful property as you would expect from the Aman. Here’s what they did well. Absolutely delicious breakfast with the most perfect portion Sizes. My tofu scramble with some grilled tomatoes and fresh cucumber tomatoes on the side as I asked were perfect Staff and friendly the woman who helped us in the mornings, was absolutely spectacular and I am so sorry I don’t have her name anymore. It was a very chill environment. You could be very private, or you might possibly have a nice conversation with somebody. But people pretty much come there to chill out and stay on their own. I like how they did the nightly gift with a little information about the culture. This is something typical at high-end resorts, of course. When they knew I wanted oat milk, and so far, they made sure my room had plenty of it. The chocolate dessert with nuts, and fruit that they handmade was delicious. They knew we like figs, so we always had plenty of figs in the room. The beach was calm My only issue was that the beach restaurant closed early because someone had like a engagement or some kind of event and no one told us. So we were told to leave pretty quickly and we had just wanted to come down and order a pizza from the pizza oven since we had been traveling and did not want to do a full big dinner. We couldn’t even stay up in one of the areas to the side. They should’ve told us when we checked in, or even even before we arrived. The Asian restaurant was very good and they aim to serve me as a vegan, but I wish I had had a little more insight because they created way more food than I needed and of course then the bill was higher than I would have. It was fine. Some of the dishes were great and I would’ve passed on. Had I been told about it. I love how they were like we were going to create some special. They certainly did. If you’re looking for quiet and a secluded retreat, this is the place. Be sure to check the pool temperature you might want it turned up or turned down depending upon what you like. We’d like it warm so they turned it up. I think this is a good Aman it’s not the best, but it is a very good one. They look to employ local people , and so some of them who are working at the beach like Cleaning at the beach may not have much English but it’s great that they employ older people and people that are local. Keep this in mind.

This is a wonderful resort with individual villas with private pools spread out over a fantastic property. The villas are large and nicely furnished and the large heated pools and private gardens are sensational. The food and service are very good. The beach club area is also very nice.

When traveling abroad I typically stay at FourSeasons, Rixos, or Ritz Carlton (when available); I feel that I have high expectations as a base line. A friend of mine insisted that my wife and I try out Aman hotel brands, and our honeymoon in Turkey was the perfect excuse to stay at AmanRuya. We have been “wowed,” AmanRuya provides exceptional Staff, Housekeeping, and suites. We will be back! It is difficult to express how superior the staff at AmanRuya is, they are operating on a level of coordination that I have never seen. For example, every single staff member at the resort naturally knew our name and room number, from the towel boys to the head of staff. Beyond this, they somehow always knew where we were or where we were headed. Every single staff member was exceptional. The housekeepers are magical. Every time we stepped out of our room we returned to a fresh room with bespoke touches based on observed preferences. - They noticed we enjoyed swimming in the ocean, so they turned our pool heat on (with out us asking) and left us towels for swimming in our room. This occurred just based on their team seeing that we liked to swim. - They noticed that I drink a lot of water at meals, so they gradually stocked our room with more and more water, up to 14 bottles of water every morning! - When leaving the hotel the housekeeping came and tagged our checked baggage for us. I have never seen anything like this attention to detail. The Suites are designed with an incredible attention to detail. Everything from the synchronized dimmer switch, the private pool, the private day bed, to the complementary speakers and bags… they have thought of all possible wants.

I must say that the staff at this location is truly remarkable. Their level of service is simply outstanding and they always go above and beyond to ensure that guests have an exceptional experience. Additionally, the location itself is superb- it’s situated in a prime spot that’s easily accessible and offers a great view. The stylish decor also adds to the overall experience and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful and memorable stay.

The Amanruya is a luxury hotel that looks out over the Aegean where the resort's elegant stone and terracotta pavilions are connected by cobblestone walkways. The perks of the property include a glittering hillside infinity pool, a dainty Aman spa, a yoga studio, a three-story library tower, restaurant, the Amanruya Beach Club and guest pavilions with gardens, a pool and a pergola. I was delighted with my Pool Pavilion with great living area accompanied by a dining cove. A beautiful 4-post bed with curtains that could be drawn all the way around provided such a secretive slumber. The spacious interior reflected Turkish architecture graced by concrete and terrazzo arches. The marbleized bathroom was ever bit as nice as the rest of the room with double sink, a soaking tub and an enormous rain shower. Amanruya has one main dining restaurant where you can dine on a fusion of Mediterranean and Greek cuisine. My Beef Carpaccio, Seafood Linguini and Baklava were delicious. So, if you looking for a discreet resort, steeped in Turkish architecture..........then try the ...........Amanruya.......A Luxe Ladened Retreat. ,

Beautiful resort with all private pool villas overlooking the sea with design and feel of old Turkish architecture. Tons of charm and character. Very spread out over a large area right on the coast. The beach club is quite unique as beach clubs go!

This hotel is absolutely superb, one of my favourite Amans and I am already a big fan of the chain. The concept with the small individual villas with own pool works very well. The whole compound is serene. 5/5

In all honesty, the month of June is not the best time to visit this hotel. It is uncomfortably hot both outdoors and indoors. The air conditioners don't provide adequate cooling, and they make quite a lot of noise. The prices for the various outdoor sports and activities appear to be high. There is room for improvement in the English language abilities of the always helpful and super friendly employees. Breakfast is tasteful, the rest of the dining experience so so. The transfer by automobile to and from Bodrum was not a very comfortable experience. It would appear that the management has a bit of work to do before they can return this establishment back to the kind of hospitality that was once expected. Best of luck to you.

Classic, careful and beautiful Aman. A special place. I read an uncomplimentary review and I feel compelled to contribute to this site (which can sometimes be unhelpful in the singular grievance). This hotel is a beauty, like other Aman sites. I travelled with my teenage family ... nothing was a problem including unexpected health issues which were catered for with aplomb. Stunning isolation, perfect access to sea, private attention, beautiful staff everywhere . I feel very, very touched by some of the people and am despondent that my Turkish cannot thank them personally. if you appreciate Aman it will not disappoint. April

Just Wow! It's been 2 days since I visited & I'm still speechless. This is the best hotel I've ever visited. The property itself is stunning - Lots of greenery and nature. The food was really delicious. I had Ragu Rigatoni and a sunburn mocktail. When it got chilly in the evening, the hotel was kind enough to give me a blanket. I now know for sure that I need to win the lotto so I can vacation at every Aman Property!

It is really hard to rate Amanruya, as the different aspects of the place are so far apart that one rating cannot do it justice. This is probably the most beautiful hotel in Turkey I have stayed in, nestled into a bay of the Bodrum Peninsula away from the street and basically everything else the bungalows and the whole hotel are a view to behold. The interior design of the place is very beautiful as well. If it was just for the looks, I would come back every year! However the hotel suffers from the same weakness that most Turkish 5 Star Hotels have: they do not have the well-trained staff you could expect in such a place. The reason for that is often that staff is only hired by season and then let go again, often not to return. As often those staffers are only paid minimum wage, they often lack qualification and experience. I do not know, if Amanruya operates on that same flawed basis, but it was obvious that the service at least did not match that of a 5* resort. That is not to say that all staff were not friendly and helpful, they really were! However the idea of 5* service as I have experienced it in such hotels outside Turkey is basically a mix of being invisible and forecasting your desires, before you do. Yes, I know that is a lot to ask for, but then again, that is the main justiciation for the premium prices. I would say I do not even take an issue with service that is not 100% or even 50% like that. To give one example: it happened several times to me that I came back from dinner and was surprised to find the turn-down maids in my bungalow doing their work. This is unusal and given that I was out for dinner for 1-2 hrs minimum also a bit a question of timing, but ok that is not a problem, you just sit on the terrace and wait for them to finish. I am only listing this here not because I am an absolute snob, who never wants to see the working people in my expensive holiday home, but to illustrate that the service lacks a bit of fine tuning, that you normally have in 5* places. My problem with the service was more when it really impacted my wellbeing. There is something in the ressort that gave me an eye infection on a regular basis, its either something they spray maybe against the mosquitos (there was no mosquito problem that others here have related to) or something in the chemicals for the pool maybe? No idea, can happen. I therefore called reception and asked, if they could get some eye drops from the pharmacy for me. They said yes. That was around noon. Then I never heard from them again. I inquired again around 4 pm, if they had arrived, mind you in that time I could only lie around with closed eyes, not super enjoyable. They said the shopping person would get it soon. End of story, it arrived after around 7/8 pm. The next pharmacy is probably 20 minutes away. If they had told me that it would take that long I would have just called a cab into town and bought it myself. And yes, ok maybe the emergency of the situation was not cle

This was our first time at an Aman and we didn't love it. After reading some other reviews, Amanruya seems to rank differently though to some of their other properties. Although we wouldn't return to this particular Aman, we would give another one a try. In short, we had a good stay but it wasn't faultless - by far. Considering the price you pay and value you get for money, I can only give it 3/5. ROOM 4/5 My understanding is that all the rooms are the same, just with different views. In our case we were surrounded by lovely gardens and big trees. The outdoor area is spacious and definitely the highlight for us. We spent most of our time at our private heated pool or in the sala relaxing. Every so often you get staff walking across the gardens so just bear in mind that you do not have complete privacy. The inside is beautifully laid out and furnished but perhaps a bit sterile for some. We stayed at the end of October and as it was getting colder, you spent more time indoors than in summer. Unfortunately the rooms weren't exactly conducive to lingering... i.e. the chairs are made for sitting rather than lying and reading a book. The living room area is also right next to your bed and doesn't have a very cosy feel. I guess the best way of putting it is slight style over substance. At least for us. (But perhaps this is an Aman-thing?) The bathroom is huge and gorgeous. Great toiletries, lovely tub. Fantastic bed and pillows. Nice music selection with ipod. There is also a TV with DVD player but you have to ask reception for a list of movies available to borrow. FOOD 4/5 The quality of ingredients and food overall was fantastic. Fresh produce with so much flavour that was very well executed! Starting with breakfast, the à la carte selection is varied and we didn't get bored after 5 days. The Menemen is a standout, as well as the Bodrum Breakfast which contains many local items like cheeses, hummus, honey and cream... We actually only had lunch at the beach once during our stay as breakfast kept us full until the evening. It's a shame because they have a different menu for lunch with Pides, Kebabs, etc. - unfortunately this food is not available for dinner. We brought it up with the Manager and he did mention that they had been talking about opening the beach restaurant in the evenings. Otherwise you are left with only one option, the main restaurant, as there is nothing close by outside of the resort. The food at dinner was excellent though and everything we tried was flavoursome and very well executed. The salads, mezzes, even the pasta was cooked to absolute perfection. The Baklava was the standout. I have never had such good Baklava in my life. I'm giving food 4/5 purely because of the lack of choice overall. Especially the room service menu was quite small and uninspired. Why put a burger on the menu and not some local items or mezze? I know some things travel better than others and the burgers were good enough - but more effort coul

I heard much about the Aman experience but I have to admit that our stay exceeded our expectations. The pavilion was sublime with pools that are fully private and secluded. However, what really amazed us was the level of service. The whole hotel staff seem to work together as a single entity. I have never seen such level of communication between staff to satisfy our different requests, plans, bookings, etc. Everyone seemed to know where we were going when and how they could facilitate it for us, often before we needed to ask for it. Sometimes, hotels that attempt this level of service, it can be overbearing or intrusive, but the Aman staff were able to strike the spot on balance for it to be neither. As mentioned, the staff worked as a team to with everyone knowing what needed to be done to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Special mention goes Hamza Dalar, the front office manager, who personally took care of us and recommended and arranged excellent restaurants and excursions.

Absolute dream hotel. Good. You can hardly call it a hotel. It's just more. Much more. The villas are a dream. Absolute privacy in every villa. A huge pool in every villa! Not a plunge pool. But really big. Minimum 30 square meters and 150 cm deep. No mosquitoes. All nonsense. Excellent service - it couldn't be better. Everyone here can speak English. More or less. There are zero communication problems. Breakfast is of the highest quality. Dinner too. Wines are still reasonably priced. Variety in Bodrum. Reachable by taxi for around €12 in 20 minutes. Teatime every day from 5 p.m. - free! Housekeeping works perfectly. We've only experienced this in the Maldives (Joali, One&Only Reethi Rah and many more). The Amanruya is definitely in this league. The beach club is also very nice. Everyone can find their own area here. OK: there is no beach! You have to be clear about that. But there are bathing jetties and a ladder leads into the clean sea! We didn't use the spa. 80 minutes costs around €200. We think that's overpriced - but that's the price for all hotels in this category. Everyone can decide for themselves! Conclusion: we are very demanding overall, and also when it comes to vacation! We were really impressed with the Amanruya. We are here for 10 days at the beginning of October. The weather is perfect too!
