Can’t imaging such perfect place just next to the Alhambra Palace. And the staffs are all nice!

Really can’t recommend this highly enough. We were part of a trip including sleek, modern 4 star places in Paris, Barcelona and Madrid and wouldn’t swap them for this friendly, characterful, excellently located place. Comfortable room serviced daily with clean towels, tea/ coffee facilities, air conditioning and good en suite with shower, bath and plenty of hot water. Breakfast and lunch typically Spanish and good. Easy walk downhill to busy central Granada and good buses back uphill after a flamenco show and dinner. Such a peaceful place to return to in a wonderful location adjacent to the Alhambra. The staff we met were without exception friendly and helpful and communication was no problem. One of those hotels you can feel relaxed in. Strongly recommend it. Good value as well!

Thanks to Hotel America - its location, restaurant, comfortable room, and super friendly and helpful staff - I was able to see and experience everything I had hoped for inside the Alhambra and nearby neighborhoods in just a few days. Every morning I woke up to the famous scents of the Alhambra - orange blossoms, roses - outside my courtyard balcony, and after a perfect cafe and tostada de jamón y jitomate in the courtyard cafe, I beat the crowds to the gardens and monuments. I was up and down the hills all day in wonder and yet just steps away from my (cozy) room to rest up or grab something. I had one meal at the fancy Parador next door but was happy that I chose to stay in a smaller, friendly and more casual place where I enjoyed chatting with the staff including wonderful Sandra and Angela. Gracias a todos for making my stay in Granada una maravilla.

Very friendly helpful staff. Hotel is like a step into the past. The feel is fantastic for the visit tonAlhambra full of history. It is so close to the enterance too. Beds are supper comfortable, shower powerful with plenty of hot water. This may be a 1 star rated but it is 5 star for position comfort and staff. Wouldn't stop anywhere else now.

Amazing people in an amazing hotel uniquely placed inside the magical Alhambra grounds! The staff are just awesome! Helpful, intelligent and knowledgeable. They go over and beyond to make us happy and welcome in their magical establishment. This is our 3rd stay at Hotel America. Time stands by but the charm and magic keep on growing. Thank you Judith, Gabriel and Fernando and all the staff for making our stay in what we regard as our home as memorable as ever!

Extremely unwelcoming front desk. Very far from a quality hotel experience. Bar completely empty but denied us access saying it was “full”. Interior very dark and scruffy. Went instead for a glass of wine at the nearby Parador, which is welcoming, smart and much better quality

We were very happy that we chose to stay at this Hotel. Staying onsite allowed us to get to the 8:30 am booking very easily and it was lovely to have a place to rest from the heat of the afternoon. We visiting the Nasrid Palace in the morning, followed by the Generalife. Then we were ready for a nap. We visited the Alcazba about 1 hour before closing, watched sunset and there were no crowds at all. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The garden restaurant is absolutely lovely and is such a nice place to take a break (I recommend it even if you aren't staying here). The room is small - but many places we stayed in Spain had small rooms. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. If you want 5 stars - go to the Parador. We thought this hotel was absolutely lovely and a good price, considering its location. It was lovely to walk around the grounds in the evening. You can't access any of the gardens but it's lovely in the morning and evening when the crowds have gone just to wander around the public areas. We got a little lost trying to figure out how to drive up to the hotel to drop off our bags, but we figured it out on the 2nd try. Then, we parked our car at the bottom of the hill in the public parking. We walked into town each night for dinner, which was lovely. The walk back up the hill after dinner was well lit and very pretty. If I was to do this again, I would choose to book the ticket that allowed a night visit of the Nasrid Palace, and then the other areas the next day (just my opinion).

As you step into the small, somewhat cramped reception area at Hotel America in La Alhambra, you see just beyond a small courtyard cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. Our first morning, we ate at the cafe, where Angelo, or “Angel,” as he like to be called, is in command, scurrying about tending to everyone’s needs, while cooking up the meals in the kitchen. The eggs were the most beautiful and tasty eggs I have ever eaten. When asked, Angel humbly admitted that the eggs come from his chickens, which he “lovingly” tends every day to enable them to produce such amazing eggs. I highly recommend anyone staying in the area to try Angel’s breakfast eggs, as they are, to use the old adage, “to die for…”

Staff are all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Lovely comfortable room with good air conditioning, and a nice big balcony overlooking the courtyard. We got the C30 bus from the centre, easy and convenient. Personally, if I was there for more than one night, a small fridge to keep water cold would be very welcome.
