With a thatched roof, the pub is an authentic village pub that is the perfect spot to enjoy the pub atmosphere. Our server was so kind and helpful with recommendations. The food was tasty and very filling. Proving both indoor and outdoor eating, an enjoyable lunch is guaranteed. A parking lot at the entrance of the village provides ample spots and is just a minute walk from the pub.

Lunch here at a justly popular inn. The service was excellent, prompt without being pushy, and everyone enjoyed their respective meals. We were particularly impressed with the blood-orange sorbet. Full marks also for the clean and bright toilets, an area that sometimes lets down an otherwise good establishment. My only minor criticism would be that it was rather dark in our area of the pub.

What a little gem! Stunning place with such wonderful food and staff. We felt so looked after and were so impressed with the quality of the food and felt it was very fairly priced. Such an iconic English pub - so worth a visit. We’ll be back to stay sometime!

Delicious supper - the best cooked breakfast I have ever had . Delightful staff - cute room - loved it - overall a Fabulous , happy place to relax with great views , great service , delicious food and delicious wine / selstiin of beers - thank you !

Having booked a table in the bar area we were told (after 10 minutes) that there wasn’t one available and we would have to go downstairs or wait. The Manageress was really rude and obviously could not cope! They had probably taken too many bookings and there was no courtesy whatsoever. We left and went to the Fox at Chipping Norton, which was wonderful. My advice is to avoid this pub until there is a complete retraining on how to deal with their customers. A good pub which has been ruined.

Lovely lunch. Good food, great beer and welcoming staff. Charming pub with so much character Called in after a walk round the area and were pleased we did. If we lived closer it would become a regular haunt. We had the chicken tagliatelle and mushroom risotto which were both super tasty and the crumble rounded the lunch off

Had our Christmas meal here and it is brilliant. Lovely food and staff. Car park not far away. Parking available out front when you can find space. Good food. Be careful of uneven floor but for an elderly pub. Fantastic. Dogs allowed too. Will be back.

Lovely warm and cheery welcome from Tom behind the bar. Great table with view of the fire (no. 3) and drinks served in a heartbeat. Delicious steak pie & mash, tasty Goan fish curry. Reasonable prices. A really impressive first visit. Many more will follow.

What a find! A wonderful pub with delicious food and very nice and helpful staff. I absolutely loved this place. It is the sort of pub you hope to find but often leave disappointed. The owners have kept the soul and character of the building. I liked the quirky ale and water jugs and mugs on the ceiling and the beautiful stone.
