Best Four Star Hotels in Guadalajara

I stayed at RIU Guadalajara for 4 nights in August 2022. I will stay there again on my next trip. My room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and refreshed everyday by 'Helga'. Breakfast was included in my rate and it was well worth the money. I dined on the patio overlooking the city and enjoyed my morning coffee in the morning breeze. The buffet has everything you'd want for breakfast or brunch and the service is excellent. The waiters brought want you wanted without interrupting your meal. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in the historic center. Outside the restaurant on the 7th floor, you can see the church and the square next to the hotel. I did n’t know that the square was a place where many people would check in. The hotel is at Expo Guadalajara: A taxi takes about 13-15 minutes (with smooth traffic) and costs less than 150 pesos. Our flight arrived early in the morning, contacted the hotel in advance, and booked the car in advance by email via the hotel mailbox notified by Ctrip, and informed the flight number, number of people, baggage number, and arrival time The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. The 7-seat car we booked costs about 750 pesos. Tip 5 [%]-10 [%] if possible Hotel towels are worn out, it is best to bring your own towels. No toothpaste, toothbrush, or shower gel. Passengers are required to bring their own toiletries. There are small pieces of soap, shampoo ... Meal is on the 7th floor. The buffet breakfast is not suitable for Chinese taste. I eat eggs, fruits and toast for several days. Dinner is not cheap.

Very good, in Mexico, choosing the American Carnival is a good choice.

The service was very good. The waiters at breakfast were attentive and attentive. The room was a bit old.

Negative Five Stars if I could This hotel was advertised as supposedly being the best in Guadalajara, and by the looks of the pictures, I decided to book it. It was my first-time visiting Guadalajara and so I was unfamiliar with the area that this hotel is situated on. I should’ve informed myself better. As soon as I arrived, I quickly noticed that this perhaps was not the best area that Guadalajara had to offer to its visitors. The area surrounding the hotel is filled with seedy people and it immediately made me feel unsafe. There was nobody in the supposed valet area to welcome me, and so I chose the self-park option and feared I’d be mugged for the BMW I was driving. It was very confusing getting to the hotel lobby from the self-parking. When I finally arrived at the hotel lobby, I was immediately disappointed as I saw no people except restaurant staff standing in front of empty restaurants. It was like walking into a ghost town with few unwelcoming locals. As I arrived in the lobby, I could see that this hotel was dilapidated and in a state of disrepair. I could immediately see cracks on the walls near the elevator that run several floors high which might be indicative of structural damage. Just by standing in the empty and cold lobby, I felt as If I was in a hotel that was abandoned long ago. The check in process was easy as I am fluent in Spanish. I had booked a two-night stay in what supposedly was a terrace/balcony view suite similarly priced in comparison to the other big hotels in the city. At this point, I was willing to overlook the aforementioned factors and give this hotel a chance since I had booked what I believed was a suite that I would be comfortable doing work in, and since I had a vehicle, I thought I could circumnavigate the dangerous areas surrounding the hotel. As the bellman escorted me to my suite, as soon as I got off on my floor, I could see how dirty and old the rug and how poorly lit the hallways were. As I approached my room, there was two housekeeping carts blocking my path because an adjacent room was being “cleaned” … The housekeepers saw me attempting to squeeze on by and they neither attempted to make way for me nor acknowledged me. When I arrived at my suite, the bellman did the best he could to show me around in the poorly lit room and as he was showing me around, I could see what terrible condition this room was in. The only thing that was done right was the sheets. The sheets appeared white and neatly pressed, and the bed was well made. I began to walk around to make a thorough inspection like I’ve been trained to do so. The first thing that I noticed was that the furniture was old, cracked and peeling. I also noticed that the glass on top of the work desk in which I planned to do my work in was cracked (could present a liability if a guest gets cut). If you are looking for a clean and comfortable room at a good rate, this might be the place for someone. A shopping mall is located not far from the hotel which was very convenient. It is true what other people had posted on their reviews in regards of staff efficiency, they are slow on servicing the guests in the hotel. We asked for room slippers and front desk said they where $ 250 Pesos we checked for room amenities on the hotel site and it claimed that slippers where included, we explained this to front desk and never got slippers for our 4 day stay. Perhaps the hotel should change the General Manager.

Wish we could've given this place 5 stars, especially considering the price and affordability; but we had one major bad experience/issue. My wife and I stayed at Square Small Hotel on the last weekend in August, everything was great: the room, the staff ( with a major exception) and the free breakfast. The safe in the room/closet was not working and since the hotel seemed so on-point, we decided to just keep our valuable and extra cash in our bags. The night before our checkout, we noticed that a hundred dollar bill was missing, not all the money just one bill/note. My wife noticed that the rest of the cash in her bag, was not in the arrangement as she kept. As we were not 100 percent (but was 98 percent) sure, we notified the front desk. They assured that they would look into it, check the cameras in hallways, and key cards used; they promised to give us an update in the morning. In the morning, no update and they asked that I check back with the same staff who would be back later; at checkout no update and the staff member said that I had to speak with the manager who would not be back, and funny enough was with whom I spoke to in the morning. Basically I got the run around for 15 minutes. And the net sum, was that they trust their staff and that it could not have been stolen from the room. When I questioned why the safe was conveniently broken in our room, I got a shoulder shrug. Honestly at the end of the day, I didn't expect the hotel to do anything other than to look into it, but their lack of follow-thru was very disappointing. Before I left I asked if they would continue to look into it, they said yes, and I asked how they would follow up with me, and he gave me a bewildered look. I asked him if he made notes as to my account, check-in information so that they can email me, and again I got a shoulder shrug. This was not a language barrier issue, it was, to do the bare minimum and just wait for my to leave. I then spoke with another staff, provided my contact information and requested that they provide me a follow-up email if just to say that there was nothing conclusive. I told the front desk staff that I would give them a month to respond before I left this info on a review. Well here we are 3 months later and no info from the hotel, hence this review. Everything else was great, and the reason for this negative review isn't the issue of the missing cash, but really the lack of response from the hotel.

Hotel in good location, in a very quiet area you can rest; it has safe, free parking. The allocated suite is quite complete, new and modern contains everything necessary for a pleasant rest, stay with good furniture and complying with everything you offer on your website; wireless internet included, very complete and luxury facilities The suite contains the electrical households working perfectly, and the American breakfast included in the contracted package was very good season. The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable.

We have stayed here twice! We ended up having our wedding here due to it's charm. We love the HISTORIC vibe and the unique character to the place makes this so attractive. Cue tall ceilings, candles, chandeliers, and stories. It is from the 1800s so don't expect top notch American grade plumbing and electricity, but expect to feel teleported back in time. We love the location to the center of GDL, their breakfast is delicious, and their security made us feel safe at night time. We will continue to come back here as a central spot in GDL and to relish in our memories! The honeymoon suite is GORGEOUS, with a little hot tub, if you can book it, do! The Wedding coordinators are the sweetest and the BEST, if you are thinking of a wedding here-top notch service!
