It is a wonderful option to stay in Guangzhou. The rooms are spacious and clean. It is located a few meters from the pedestrian street and that gives it a privileged location to move around on foot. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am and there are good Chinese and Western menu options. Just note that it is no longer a hotel operated by Holliday inn but is now called Voco.

Given the high rating and reputation of this hotel, I was shocked by the conditions of the supposedly newly renovated rooms. I was staying at the standard room on the twelve floor , facing the historical buildings. We checked in after 10:30pm under the drizzles and chill - the outside temperature was around 10 degress. I noticed the holes of the linen of the blinds when they were rolled down, though it could still function. Yet, the light shield was worse. It was trapped on one side and could not be let down. The plus side was we were offered another room on the same floor immediately. Leo who helped to bring our luggage up was very polite and patient. He stayed outside our room when his colleague brought the new key of the new room and accompanied us to the new room to ensure everything was all right. He was worth 5 out of 5 for service. However, I would further explain why I only gave 4 out of 5 for service. Yet, the new room was smaller and for any other international hotels , from my experience, would offer an upgrade of the room. This hotel did not. Thats why I gave 4 out of 5 for service. The linen of the blinds in the new room was still far from 100%. I could still detect torn tissues , most probably because the blinds were dated. Thats why I gave a 3 out of 5 for facilities.

Great value for money, super clean, comforable bed, beautiful river view from hotel room. Need to specific mention this hotel have very amazing, friendly and helpful staffs. (We left a wifi egg with charger behind and they gave it to us immediately when we check out!!) Walking distance to eateries and river cruise at the pier. Stay for 2 nights in this hotel, just a bit disappointed coz can't go to the rooftop bar due to events on both nights. Also need to mention elderly need to be very careful when using the shower room of the hotel coz their floor are made of marble. It can be a bit slippery. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel and will come back next time. We had a wonderful time here, thank you very much.

We booked a river view suite. Though the room was a bit dated but its size and floorplan was more like a presidential suite especially overlooking the pearl River. The river view was very grand and unblocking.. We really enjoyed the night view with multiple nightly cruises passed by every evening. The 5 star White swan hotel, people s bridge and ”sand face Island” were all within our view. As we are more like vegetarian, the Asian breakfast buffet have enough dishes for our taste. In fact, I can accept eating that type of breakfast everyday. To enhance your experience, you can walk across the people's bridge to ”sand face Island” through the old French style buildings and finally lead to the white swan hotel (if your budget allow, have a meal there). Of course, we did all those and more. What I didn't like and what the hotel needs to improve, please give hotel guests free access to the spa within the same building.

The service attitude has improved, which is good. The room lacked mosquito repellent sheets and not enough paper towels. The shower head is leaking. The hardware needs to be improved. The pot was removed before breakfast, thank you👍🏻. It is recommended to add fried rice noodles and fried vegetables. There are too few frozen food options alone. Or don’t use quick-frozen products. The hotel is located in a very serene environment. It is one of the many well preserved and architecturally beautiful buildings found here.One cannot help should one dwelled into its nostalgic past. It is convenient to go places from here as Didi service are readily available . The facilities here met ones expectation, especially it's self service laundry facility, which is user friendly. The hotel restaurants serve both western and oriental cuisines and we thoroughly enjoyed the Dim Sum served by its Chinese restaurant. I cannot find fault with the services rendered by the hotel staffs from the room services level up to the manager. We were offered one free breakfast voucher each because there was a two hours plus power cut during one of the nights during our stay. A nice gesture indeed. I must especially mention one front line staff, Niki 黄, her very warm, and charming personality is most appreciated. I seem to have forgotten all the tiredness and disappointments of the day whenever I bump into Niki upon returning to the hotel from an excursion. Thank you Niki, 加油。 I definitely will check into this hotel again should I visit Guangzhou again.

My stay was pleasant . Location is excellent this best point for me. Room also very good. Breakfast not so much. They could do a simple fried egg one side cooked neither have some bacon . Toaster also was not working properly so wasted a lot of time making a toast . After 5 days trip this became very tyring. It’s more of a Chinese type of breakfast which is a bit of a shame. Nevertheless I rate hotel with a 4. It’s pretty good option . I will return I think.

This convenient hotel is in a very good location. There is Aiqun Gongjiao Station downstairs, which is very convenient to take the bus to the Cultural Park Subway Station. There is also a 7-11 convenience store and a fruit and bag shop downstairs, which is very convenient for buying drinks and snacks. Mr. Xie, the front desk clerk, was very helpful and answered all our questions. He was our Guangzhou travel guide. He was very familiar with various attractions and transportation hubs in Guangzhou.
