If you are traveling by public transportation, you have to walk a little bit to reach it. The room itself was clean and friendly. However, there is no air conditioner (there was an appliance that looked like a heater + air conditioner, but I didn't know how to operate because I was a foreigner who didn't know Japanese). Hokkaido itself is not very hot, so it is highly recommended for those looking for value for money Although the facilities are a little aging, they are managed cleanly. Been to Hokkaido many times but first time in Hakodate. Bourou Noguchi is one of the most expensive hotels in Yunokawa area. The Noguchi Group of hotels operates quite a few hotels in the Donan area (southern Hokkaido). Seems most, if not all, of the room are fitted with private onsen. We have a duplex room with living room and bedroom on the lower floor, and bath room on the upper floor. The room size is enormous by any Japan standard. With a premium price you pay, you get almost everything you need in a room, coffee beans and maker, free mini bar drinks, Loccitane toiletries, private in-room onsen, an empty Japanese style living room with no furniture where you can do yoga, two TVs. The room has windows on two sides facing east and west. The hotel as a whole takes a western style of decoration rather than a traditional style. I guess since most of the rooms has its own onsen, as a result the public bath on the top floor is not very outstanding, however, there are free drinks and ice cream on the lounge next to the onsen entrance. And the lounge has a nice view on Hakodate city and Mount Hakodate. Every room has its designated dining room in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Both meals serve Japanese and western style dishes. My personal opinion is that Japanese dishes is better. Service in restaurant and front desk is as good as you will find in a Japanese hotel. On the ground floor there is a library, and a bar opens until late. There is not much in the surrounding area except onsen hotels, however, there are noodle shop, sushi restaurant and drug store nearby.

I booked a Japanese-style room (Gyu-tei), but the bedroom was separate and it was wider and more comfortable than I thought. I looked for a place that was not a Viking when I made a reservation. It was delicious both in the morning and evening. Abalone dance grilled and beef steak have a live feeling. I could choose a Japanese set meal or a buffet in the morning, but I chose a Japanese set meal. I had it at the restaurant Hanamai in the morning and evening, but the attention and worries of the floor staff were wonderful. And the most impressive thing was the pleasant greetings of all the staff.

I think it is the best place to have a hot spring in Goryokaku. The facilities are route inns everywhere. If you say greed, there is a sauna and it is still good. It was GW but check-in, breakfast and check-out were smooth without conspicuous congestion. The staff was also skillfully turned around.
