Wonderful service and beautiful hotel. Terrific food for dinner and breakfast. Nice rooms Great shower and nice rooms. Definitely the best hotel at the edge of the desert. Only warning- beds are very very very firm. If you don’t mind that there is nothing bad about this place

Bad hotel for the customers I made a reservation for my customers our driver he is not given their room I know that they are not obliged to give it but all the hotels in merzouga he gives the driver a small room outside c 'is just for the other drivers, also the people working at the reception don't speak well

Rough around the edges and unenthusiastic, mostly bored staff. Food was very average. There was no menu, so we we got what we got. The mattress, pillows and “linens” were terrible. Frayed, small old towels. Pool is nice, but was unheated so too cold to swim. Not a vacation hotel.

Riad Madu must be a desirable name as a few properties share it. Be careful that you get the right one. Our stay here was booked as part of a tour we did through Morocco. The accommodation was pleasant, we especially enjoyed the large fireplace in the common area. WiFi was good in there as well. The bedrooms were spacious and temperature could be controlled quite well. We were there in December and it got cold at night. Showers were easy with reliable hot/cold water and water pressure. The beds were FIRM. Given the cold temps we did not enjoy the courtyard or pool. The least favorite part of the stay was the food. You don't have many options so eating on site is the easiest. What you lose is variety and quality. Nothing about the dinner, breakfast or lunch was notable. The food was utilitarian at best. It wasn't bad but given the location I expected more variety and local flavor than what is offered. There is also limited beverage options and no alcohol. I did see a couple bring their own wine so they allow that if you choose. The organized quad bike excursion was a lot of fun, definitely worthwhile if that's your thing. Everyone was pleasant and helpful on staff and responsive to any requests. Overall not a bad place to stay for a rest, just know that food will not be a highlight.

This modern Riad is a quite beautiful building in a not very attractive town - except of course for the dunes. The decor, the lighting fixtures, the space are wonderful. Our room was larger than the average London flat! Our bed was huge and comfortable, the bathroom huge with a great shower and best of all (after 19 days in Morocco) a lot of natural light. Great pool, but not heated. BUT and a big but that rather blighted our stay no wine is available, dinner was awful and the restaurant was ‘cold’. No one is in love with food in this place. We were in and out in 40 mins and there is nothing else to do in the evening. The staff were polite but there was not the warmth and desire to please that we have found every where else. Reception should have forewarned us about the wine situation at check in as at that point we could easily have gone out to buy a bottle. Good point we were able to have Nespresso coffee at breakfast and they made me some gluten-free crepes. We wouldn’t return here.

This resort is a true oasis on the edge of the desert. It has cozy nooks and corners everywhere as well as a beautiful pool overlooking the sand dunes. The food is excellent and the rooms are spacious and clean.

We stayed 2 nights. Outstanding service with premium tent . Dinner is very tasty and followed by camp fire with Morocco music. Camp site is located in middle of nowhere in desert. Including an hour sunset camel ride in and 4x4 dune experiences ride out. Stars at nights blanket the sky with Milky Way right in front of u . Swimming pool at main building with beautiful dune view cool u off in afternoon with lunch and drink.

We did not stay at the Riad , but chose to stay at their remote Luxury Camp in the desert , after taking an unforgettable and thrilling 45 minute camel ride through the Sahara's 600 foot tall sand dunes....truly a unique experience! (While driving through Todra Gorges, on our way to Merzouga, we each bought our head scarf and were glad we did , since our ride into the desert was windy and the turbans were important to help keep the sand out of our ears, nose and mouths!) Hassan -- our camel guide-- is an outstanding ambassador to the Sahara Desert and he is a very creative and talented photographer as you can tell from some of the photos attached. We could tell from talking with him , that this land is in his blood through and through...he is as authentic and real as anyone can be! Everything about this 24 hour experience was surreal... in an awesome way! Our sleeping tent/cabin was basic and comfortable. Our dinner, served in the "sultan tent" was delicious. We were served very enjoyable baked zucchini *****s with melted cheese as a starter and then very tasty chicken and beef with french fries and a large , fresh fruit platter for desert. (Bring your own wine if you are interested since they do not serve it here). After dinner, in the open air pavilion, under the stars, the team that worked at the camp all got together to sing traditional Moroccan songs while performing a lovely drumming concert. At the end , they each broke off into small groups to teach all of us (the guests) how to drum and we even all broke out into Queen's, "We Will Rock You"...thanks to Hassan's fun sense of humor and talent! Now that we are back home, we enjoy looking at our jar full of the "clay colored" Sahara Desert sand that we brought home to always remember this unforgettable day and night!
