NH Collection Victoria la Habana

The best stay exparience I've had. Whenever I travel for work, I want the same experience I got at Hotel Victoria. The rooms where fine and cozy, the water was always warm, not my taste. I like cold showers. The staff: from Yvis, Zulio, the front desk lady and the Captain at night(the bald guy, he was amazing), to Edgard, Elizabeth and Ruben in the morning. You guys made me want to come back. There was a piano sir in the morning, I appreciate that. Food was great: dinner had a great appetizer, breakfast was very rich. Overall: I want to come back

Our tour group of 10 stayed here while we were in Havana. It is located in Centro Havana in an authentic Cuban neighborhood. The Malecon is a short walk away and you can see the water from the front of the building. It is rather large and resembles a hotel of a bygone era. The common areas are very nice as is the rooftop patio. Both are good places to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer. Our room was small and very clean. There was plenty of closet space, a fan and air conditioning, a safe and a hair dryer. The staff were great, accommodating, friendly and most helpful. Breakfast was also very good with fruit, tomatoes, juice, toast, ham, cheese, eggs cooked to order and coffee and tea. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed watching the children at the primary school next door and across the street. The Cuban neighbors were pleasant and friendly.

We rested in Cuba in April 2023. Booked one night in this hotel for 10.5tr. During the trip, it was necessary to shift the booking dates by one day (we really wanted to get to the Tropicana cabaret show). The Trip service fed promises to resolve the issue within 24 hours for three days. We did not receive a clear answer whether it is possible to change the dates of the booking. We had to book a second night for the date we wanted. This reservation cost 11.5t.r. the difference in price was attributed to exchange rate fluctuations. At the time of check-in, it turned out that the first night was paid for only one person, although two people were billed when booking. And the second night is booked for two persons. For the first night it was necessary to pay 85 €. In a word, I do not recommend using this Trip.com service. Now about the hotel: a huge disadvantage for the Russians is the inability to use cash. The whole hotel works only with cards. Russian cards naturally do not work, the Mir payment system has just begun to be introduced in Cuba. Accordingly, we could not use the restaurant, bar, pool. In general, the hotel is not bad for Cuba, the only thing that was very embarrassing was the peeled tulle. Well, right at all, with a tuft of thread on the floor.

It so happened that in a short time I stayed at the hotel twice, so I am writing two reviews in one day. In general, the hotel is truly wonderful - everything is well built, beautiful, comfortable and stylish (the hotel has been open since 1929 and, in general, has retained its style with a few exceptions). Initially, they worked on it thoroughly, and the result did not disappoint - truly good things do not lose their class with age, but, on the contrary, acquire additional dignity, like cognac or aged rum). The attitude of the staff - sincere and caring - adds to the sensations (or rather, elevates them to a degree). Met guests here who always stay at this hotel when they come to Havana. Apparently I will be such a person now))
Paseo Habana

Second stay in 2023 at this very comfortable little hotel next to Centro Chirurgico. Since my first stay this year, the hotel seems to have changed management, but without compromising service or quality (although the posted rack rate has increased by approx 5x!). In general, the hotel is clean, quiet, and safe. Surrounded by a charming garden and terrace. Gated, with security. Air conditioning in rooms is great. Dining area not air conditioned, so need to sit on the terrace for a breeze. Meals were sit-down with choice of fish/chicken/lamb. The meals (although simple) are prepared by a chef and very tasty. Much better than many of the bad buffets at other hotels. Small bar area is now open for drinks in the afternoon and evening. Staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. All staff speak (some) English. Location is close to the many restaurants at the bottom of Paseo. There are numerous small shops at the bottom of Paseo in the same area where you can buy beer, liquor, wine in pesos at reasonable prices. Location next to the heart hospital means you can easily find taxis near the hotel. However, the cheapest transportation option is to walk down Paseo to the Malecon and wait for the children's train which makes a loop from the Plaza de las Armas to the Riviera Hotel approximately every 2 hours for 40 pesos. Hotel will currently change money at the official government rate of 120/USD, but you this is not recommended as you can obtain a better rate easily on the ”informal” market. Wifi for sale at front desk for 40 pesos/hr. Coverage can be a little bit spotty, sometimes you lose the signal. Other reviews have raised water temperature/pressure issues: these are not generally the fault of hotels. Water system in Havana has lots of issues.
HOTEL SAINT JOHN'S

The hotel's lobby is very nice and pleasant with excellent atmosphere. The staff of the very charismatic breakfast and very good service, on my criterion I think there is only a little bit of animation in the night. I would come back!!!
