Villa Saffron Hikkaduwa

Boutique hotel. Good location. Possible to walk along the beach to Turtle Beach to see sea turtles in their natural habitat. Service excellent by the manager and his team. Beautiful rooms. dinner and breakfast were very tasty - but facility needs maintenance. No hot water in the morning. AC stopped working in the middle of the night so got hot and stuffy. Many mosquitoes so bed should have needed nets. Outside lamps not working. Pillows and blankets smell mold. Can’t recommend until upgrades and maintenance performed.

My regret is that I didn't stay here more nights. The service was excellent. The beach and pool were so beautiful. There is a good Italian pizza restaurant close by if you're craving something other than local food.

Superb service in a stunning setting. Chef prepared all delicious meals . Very comfortable stay and wonderful to swim in the warm sea and pool. All staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Bliss!

Villa Saffron is easily one of the best coastal villas I have been to. From the ambience, to the beautiful location, this villa ticks all the boxes. I want to give a special thank you to Sunil, Kasun and the rest of the staff at the villa who were incredibly hospitable and catered to all our needs. A second special thank you to the in-house chef who dished up some mouth watering food which was honestly better than most restaurants around the area. We would definitely go back to this beautiful place and I can easily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on the coast!

Unique experience - quiet beach far enough from the hustle of Hikkaduwa. Just 5 rooms / suites. Stayed in „Saffron“-suite with whirlpool on balcony. Antiques in the room and all over the very tastefully furnished place. Excellent service. Food on star-level absolutely worth its price ! The manager , Sunil , takes care of you and everything : Feel at home and be surrounded by luxury and that unique tropical touch. We‘ll be back !

Villa Seffron in Sri Lanka is a true paradise for travelers seeking authenticity and privacy. The intimate setting ensures a cozy atmosphere, while the spacious rooms offer a sense of luxury. The fantastic pool is an oasis of tranquility, and the fact that you can walk straight onto the beach from the villa is a real plus. The food is delicious, and the manager, Nival, deserves all the praise for perfectly arranging everything you need. In short, Villa Seffron is a place you never want to leave.

We had a wonderful return visit to Villa Saffron after two years. Total relaxation in this beautiful property is provided by Sunil and his team. The food is excellent from Chamida's kitchen . Room are very comfortable ,bright and spacious . We look forward to returning again !

This is our second visit to Saffron Villas and it was like time had stood still. A warm friendly Sri Lankan welcome. The same faces, warm, helpful, discreet and kind. Just 5 rooms you feel you are staying in your own private villas. Lovely pool, delightful room. Direct access onto the most wonderful beach. Situated on the edge of town far enough away to feel peaceful but a walk away if you want more activity. The villas has been so beautifully and sympathetically restored and furnishings reflect that as does the artwork. Dining is simple. Bring your own alcohol. Fridge and kettle in rooms make all the difference for such a relaxed location. Definitely return visit in the diary.

We had the most magical stay at Villa Saffron and it couldn't have been more perfect. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! It's such a beautiful place - both the villa itself and the setting are spectacular. The room, shared areas and garden were always very clean and tidy, and we ended up spending far more time in the villa and garden than we had planned because it was just so idyllic. We were in the Garden Room which was lovely and spacious, and there was always enough hot water for the showers (the only place we stayed in Sri Lanka where the hot water didn't run out!). There was some noise from the road which didn't bother us and the air con blocked it out, but if you are a light sleeper maybe choose one of the other beautiful rooms. The food was fantastic, with such a great range of options. We even arranged to have a cookery lesson with the chef so we can replicate the great Sri Lankan food at home! We were so well looked after the whole time we were there. Sunil and his team did a fantastic job of looking after us - it felt more like staying with an old friend! They were always very attentive and went out of their way to make our stay special. This was the last hotel we stayed in on our honeymoon in Sri Lanka, and I mentioned my disappointment at how none of the other hotels had done anything special. Sunil and the team decorated our room with flowers, and we had a romantic sunset dinner on the beach. It was the perfect way to end our honeymoon and it couldn't have been better! I only wish we could have stayed longer. If you're staying around Hikkaduwa, make sure you stay here. You won't regret it. Thank you so much Sunil and the team, we can't thank you enough ❤️
