At Masuwe Lodge, we were wrapped in luxury and tradition, greeted warmly with lively drums and dances, symbolizing the vibrant spirit of Victoria Falls. Our rooms were a picture of elegance, with balconies showcasing breathtaking views and the beautiful details, such as large, immaculate beds, spoke volumes about the care put into our comfort. The sight of elephants and a majestic giant eagle owl from the deck was enchanting. The staff, with their warmth and sharing of local games, made us feel like family, and the exquisite local cuisine was a delight, making our stay a beautiful mosaic of unforgettable moments.

The tented rooms are so well designed. They have every convenience and are secluded with a wonderful view. My family were well treated by the staff and the food was exceptional. Everyday had a new treat with wildlife, buffaloes, elephant and bushbuck were the most frequent to the waterhole. The manager was helpful with organizing outings and experiences for us. Thanks for a lovely time.

Masuwe Lodge is a timeless place. Perfectly immersed in the bush on the border of the Zambezi national park, it stands out for the extraordinary kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the beauty of the rooms from which it is possible to see many wild animals within walking distance (e.g. elephants, baboons, buffaloes) and the 'excellent food of the chef who prepared delicious breakfasts and dinners for us. It's the perfect place to spend a few days at Victoria Falls without the tourist chaos of downtown. Furthermore, from Masuwe it is possible to do safari in the Zambezi park whose entrance is less than 10 minutes from the hotel. Special mention to the availability and kindness of the owner. Strongly recommended!

My daughter recently had her wedding at Masuwe Lodge. We are from Canada and flew over for this beautiful event. She had help with organizing from a local wedding planner. Approximately 18 people were there at Masuwe for 2 nights. Location is wonderful. Not far from town, but you feel secluded. As we drove up to the lodge, there were many elephants crossing the path in front of us. Very special. The tented rooms were so nice (not like any tent I've ever been in.) Beautiful beds, heater, lovely bathroom /shower area. Small fridge/desk chair. Also had a deck with 2 comfortable chairs to sit and relax on if you wanted. The grounds are lovely maintained. The pool area, and eating area, bar/coffee bar are inviting and comfortable. The view was also a great area to look out over and if lucky you would see elephant at the watering hole. The food was amazing. Staff were extremely helpful, as was the manager. He was always around making sure that people had what they needed. We even were able to sit around by a fire the night before the wedding to relax and be with family. There is absolutely no criticism of this lodge. And I have to say it was a beautiful space for a wedding. There was a driver to take the wedding party out in a Safari vehicle to have photos taken. Fantastic. Every family member that stayed there absolutely loved this place and the weekend. We all would highly recommend.

After nigh on 24 hours of travelling door to door from UK we wanted somewhere peaceful and away from the constant helicopters to start our visit to Zimbabwe and Masuwe is certainly the place. Only 15 minutes drive from town but out in the bush with fantastic views across the trees looking down on the baboons and elephants and eye to eye with the weaver birds. The manager, Cassius Tembo, is a real gem. Our UK agent, Audley Travel, had arranged the trip and recommended Masuwe and they were right. We had a list of things to do and see in Victoria Falls but there were some details to be clarified with local arrangers and Cassius took this in hand and sorted the lot. Highly organised and knowing everyone he made the little worries we had just vanish. Then he drove us to the various places at the times arranged and made sure that we were looked after and was there to pick us up afterwards. Plus he made suggestions for improvements and that paid off as well. The tents were excellent and the bed very comfortable and much needed after the journey. The programme for the trip gave us two nights in Victoria Falls and having been rushed from one amazing sight to another I think we should have had three just to give a little more time to relax. The other benefit of Masuwe was the impressive chef, the best of the three camps we visited. My lady is vegetarian and he produced inventive and very well presented dishes for both of us. Visiting in late May the whole town was quiet but everyone we talked to said that bookings were looking good for the coming seasons. And many locals said ‘thank you for coming’. And, of course, the Falls were just tremendous.

We had so much fun! The food was delicious and the game drives were exciting. The tents were comfortable and beautiful. The staff, guides, and hosts made our experience amazing. We highly recommend this lodge!

We were given a warm welcome by Cassius, who continued to provide us with great service during our three night stay. Visiting late December it rained a lot, but cleared up on our last day, giving us a taste of what this place would be like during the dry season (a beautiful dinner table was set up for us under the stars, and Daisy cooked us fantastic burgers on request). Situated high above a permanent water hole, the communal area would make an ideal ‘armchair safari’. However, the vegetation was dense at this time of year and we didn’t see any decent game. The WiFi throughout the property was not great, with none in the rooms, or the common lounge area. There’s an argument that this fosters interaction between guests, but in this day and age, especially when travelling with teenagers, decent WiFi (at least in one designated area) is essential. The common lounge area could also have done with more of a couch-style configuration, suitable for lounging under cover, especially during the wet season when using pool loungers is not an option. There were periods of power outages each day (imposed load shedding?), and whilst the lodge had a back-up generator, we were without power for a considerable length of time on our first day. This improved the following days, with the generator kicking in more quickly. Given the circumstances (rain, poor WiFi, no game), Cassius did everything he could to make our stay worthwhile. He was easy to chat to, had good local knowledge, and drove us into town multiple times. He got us upgraded on the sunset river cruise (which turned out to be fun, considering the evening was pretty damp), and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. A few comfy lounges and decent WiFi would help immensely here.

Stayed 3 nights to visit the Falls and recover from exhausting safaris in Botswana. Couldn't have chosen a better place. Our spacious thatch-roofed 'tent' had everything you could want including aircon, very comfy bed, masses of storage space, decent shower, fridge, kettle with tea/coffee/biscuits and a lovely shaded terrace with view only of the wooded hillside, birds and the occasional deer passing by. All this but only a step away from the sunbeds and swimming pool. Our meals in the main building, created by Chef Admire and Chef Primrose were exactly what we wanted - tasty but not too heavy - and the bar and waiting guys were so much more - identifying birds or spotting animals from the viewing seats above the water hole. And, although we saw elephants, buffalo, monkeys, etc., I recommend getting down there in your dressing gown at about 7 am to enjoy a cappuccino and watch the masses of guinea fowl rushing about, chasing each other, squabbling and scratching for food. As well as enjoying the facilities of the lodge, the manager, Cassius, made sure we also enjoyed the main features of the area. We were taken to the Victoria Falls pathway and collected afterwards and taken to viewpoints at Lookout Cafe and the historic Livingstone Hotel. Also, visit to local markets, where we would like to have bought much more than we did. I haven't even mentioned the sunset cruise on the Zambesi, courtesy of Masuwe as we stayed for 3 nights. This sounds very busy but we were very relaxed as everything was arranged for us and I'm sure if you wanted a more adventurous programme, it would be equally well organised Thank you to all at Masuwe and hope we manage to come back some time soon.

We were two couples staying 4 nights at Masuwe and for the entire duration of our stay, we were the only guests in residence which we felt a did disconcerting especially as the lodge location is very isolated outside of Vic Falls. Unfortunately we had a few power outages, the lodge does have a backup generator but on one occasion the generator ran out of fuel and the entire night we were without power. Being the only residence in the lodge without power during the night made us feel very uncomfortable. The staff were very attentive to our needs, but being the only guests in residence, their attention to us was a bit overwhelming at times. Before we arrived at the lodge, we requested the lodge to arrange some excursions for us during our stay which they did and confirmed. During a trip to town on our first day, we were taken to two tour operator's office to pay for our own excursions, we were unhappy about this and felt this should have been taken care of by the lodge and charged to our account.
